Does the cool down feature work the same as the old Bullseye or has it been redesigned including the position of the augertube in relation to the fire pot? On the old Bullseye it is easy to have burn back in the augertube if you're running at higher temps and just turn the grill off. It's a pain in the butt because you first need to lower the temperature and babysit for a while before you switch the grill off and put it into cool down mode. One of the main reasons it has easy burnback is because the auger tube, where pellets get dispensed, is positioned too low in the fire pot and the pellets in the fire pot that are burning can easily ignite the ones in the auger tube. There's not enough of a drop where the pellets feedout. Rec Teq solution was to feed pellets into the fire pot after the cool down procedure to make sure burning pellets in your auger tube were pushed out into the fire pot, which is another pain in the butt because if you had ashes in the fire pot and wanted to clean them out before the next cook you'd have to pick out all your brand new pellets from the ash. So does this new grill still do the same thing and is the auger tube still very low on the fire pot or has it been redesigned? For $800 I hope so.
Almost perfect. A good idea would be a way to swap out pellets from the hopper with a bottom hatch.. The table is a very welcome feature. As is the ash tray. Now, my Bullseye is only a year old..Also, the sturdy wheels and legs are a welcome feature as well. My Bullseye is only a year old, might have to sell that and get the new one..? Or, keep it as a backup...?
Nice improvements -- just purchased it to replace my original 380. I did notice in the video, when you removed the grill grate and heat deflector, the heat deflector was installed upside down. Ha!
So, is this only single level cooking ? I noticed only one temp probe . I suppose if the space for cooking is limited, you don't need multiple probes. Can the app support/monitor other multiple add on probe devices ? And what about the shutdown/fire pot issues others have commented on ?
I purchased at B-380 earlier this summer, can i upgrade the controls to the wifi version? Love it on by rt-700, would be nice on my B-380. Great upgrades!!
Ok but the biggest problem with the previous Bullseyes isn't solved, the grease fires because it has nowhere to go. But at least it doesn't go directly into the fire pot now
Previous versions had grease fires like crazy with anything fatty because grease went directly into fire pot, they would tell you use a drip pan. Why not just make a drain for the grease?
I was dreaming about a smoker years ago. Recteq (back then called RecTec) co-owner Ray Carnes gave me his phone number and we had a discussion about Recteq and the other brand. He was telling me the ash dump on the other model was a gimmick. So I have to laugh at the new ash dump feature. I was struggling financially and couldn’t afford either. Went to Walmart and they had this display model of the other brand. While I was looking at it. A Walmart regional manager said he would sell it to me for 40 bucks since it was missing so many parts. It was a $400 smoker. So I bought it. Contacted the company and they sent me all the missing parts…..for free! The ash dispenser is a long rod you pull. It’s a pain in the butt. The heat bends the rod and it constantly gets stuck. I just vac it out. This one looks like a far better design. I’m in a better position now. But I take such good care of my stuff. The 40 buck smoker is in excellent condition. If it ever breaks. I’ll buy a Recteq. Hoping their RT 700 has this ash dump by then.
The high heat leads me to think about whether this unit could be used as a pizza oven but otherwise your salesman didn’t explain why the stainless steel cooking chamber was different or better than your standard product. Too much meaningless sales puffery means theses nothing here.
Next you guys need to work on a smoker that has an easy ash clean out of fire pot. That’s the next big thing as tearing apart grill before a cook is a pain in the ass.
@@hinkdad It’s the fire pot that’s important. If you do a long cook and you don’t vacuum out the fire pot sometimes the pellets don’t ignite and cause this thick white smoke then you have to disassemble and clean fire pot to get it going. Simple way to ash dump like new camp chef pro would solve this issue.
I worked my bullseye like there's no tomorrow! Can't wait to check out the new one. No more vacuuming!
You guys should enter the griddle game as well. I'd love to get a griddle but made with your quality.
Does that new controller adjust the temperature in 5° increments or only 25° increments?
One minute until I was bad boyed into madness

Came here to ask this.

All the improvements look amazing. Can’t wait to try this bad boy out!
Wish I knew this was coming out, bought a Bullseye 380 not to long ago.
I too bought a Bullseye 380. For me, it has been nothing but problematic, so I stopped using it after 2-3 smokes. *Disappointed*
Is any good for smoking like brisket for 20 hours ?

After receiving mine in Sunday they come out with this today! I want them to offer an updated Wi-Fi controller
Absolutely outstanding 👏 👌🏼 🙌 👍🏼
Where can I buy one? I can't find it on the website.
Are the legs going to still rust out like the previous one?

Awesome, wish I could go this weekend! I’d have one of the new 380’s…
Is this one the same stainless steel grade that the regular 380?
I'm excited about this one.
Have to figure out how much I can sell my current Bullseye for!!!
When is it going to be on the website?
Nov 7th I believe is the date

I just bought the regular bullseye...... Why why why...
Didn't see price and its not on the website link in the description.
I saw somewhere on FB that it is $799. Haven't been able to confirm it yet.
I would love to see a pizza being cooked on one of these.
I use a pizza stone at 375F @ 12 min and they come out fantastic.
I can't imagine the levels of grease fires that this will produce unless cleaned religiously after every cook.
Just riot mode it after any greasy cook.

I only clean the ash out of my 1250 every 10-15 cooks. It’s really not a hassle.

2x the price of the original 😔 😔 😔
This bad boy haha 🤣 This guy is a joke. Cool grill though.
Why didn’t you come out with this 6 months ago?
