I love it so much when Seth has his friends from SNL on. They all have such genuine affection for each other and still love hanging out.
We need second chance theater for the Australians
Haha as an Australian, I think this retelling was more than enough 😂
That or a release of the Dress recording!
Came here to suggest that
Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar
Favorite Fred Armisen scene: In "Easy A" Armisen plays evangelical pastor and father of Amanda Bynes, high school Jesus freak who condemns "Olive" played by Emma Stone for pretending to hook up with sexless classmates. When Emma seeks council at a handy random church for the trouble she's unleashed, smug Pastor Fred admits "There is a hell, right below our feet. It's a fact."
He was an amazing Uncle Fester! I was happily surprised
Fred is a damn national treasure. That is all.
Sure, but he really hates makeup artists and british actors.
Every woman he's been in a relationship with says different
i met fred a couple months ago and he was so kind, everything i dreamed he would be. i will always love this man.
Fred's Fester was the highlight of the show for me, which is saying something given how great everything was.
Funny how Fred mentions toughing it up with a cigarette, of course immediately reminds me of the Norwegian actors playhouse. Fred: "I grew up on the streets of times Square meaaaan! But I became a tough cop with a cigarette." 😂
Armisen did an SNL sketch where he played Brutus the talking ape, and it's still one of the best performances I've ever seen on that show. The guy is amazing.
I fucking looove that Ian Rubbish sketch and those songs(especially the last song)…Still watch it today…
If u can watch Fred, Bill & Kristin without laughing, order a coffin: you're dead.😅
So how can they be reading your comment?
@@terri6854 Ghosts have cell phones 👻
@@terri6854 Lol😄 Easy to do, as is ordering a coffin, when you're figuratively dead. It's true, literally!😉
@@Ayalaula 😂👍
The three best
The Californians sketch made me realize how much we do 1 talk like that and 2 talk about driving
After living in California, I think those sketches are about the funniest thing SNL has ever done.
I love Fred Armisen so much. He’s so talented and cool.
"No disrespect to.... they do a great job.... whew"
OMG PLEASE I WANNA SEE THE AUSTRALIANS!!
Anybody else thinks Seth is the legitimate 'heir' of SNL after Lorne Michaels?
Maybe him sharing the role with Kenan would be an even better idea.
He was head writer for a long time, span a few great generations of different cast members, was on Weekend Update, and seem to be beloved and respect by the whole community that works in and around SNL.
@@aaronsinger I think that unless Lorne is making these decisions/preparations himself, the producer route is more likely, yes, you are right. Maybe the show even dies with Lorne, who knows with excecutives these days? I think the fact that Seth has had a pretty good grasp of what is it like to have a whole show (with crew, cast, budget, personnel changes) in his hands for a few years now also bode very well for him.
I reckon it's more like "beloved and respected by the SNL denizens that we see him with a lot" - which is excellent, but there are miles of SNL people who don't seem to hang out or collaborate with Seth on a regular basis, despite working in the same building. No harm, no foul of course; the man's not required to be beloved by everybody.
Documentary now got a 4th season!??!?! YES!!
FYI, Bill isn't in it. He wasn't able to appear while doing Barry.
I downloaded all the Ian Rubbish songs years ago to my iTunes! Love it and didn’t know Seth had a hand in writing them! Bring him back! I’d love to see his take on the new king.
I loveeeeee him
I adored that they exchanged i love yous.
Same! So wholesome and natural. I feel it through them
Credits going downwards instead of upwards. Never thought of that. Love to see a Hollywood director do that on a movie.
Their friendship always gives me that corny smile where I look around the room to make sure noone caught a glimpse of the smiling, awkwardly happy and content me. Love em both, so genuine when they're together. A documentary now style show with both of them and also wigg and sir hader of the Midwest would be great. Hard to pull off but if anyone could...😅
Same
Fred is funny and he plays a mean triangle
Naur! We need to see that
FIST FIGHT IN THE PARKING LOT 🤘😬🤘
I would watch the _butt_ off an Armisen/Hader/Wiig _The Australians_ sketch
🥱
For Corrections: So Seth has at least 3 mates on speed dial who can do an Australian accent, and yet the Animal Flubs koala still sounds like a Yank.
Cause he was raised in an American zoo 🙂
well the guy in the interview is certainly not someone who can do an Aussie accent!
What Americans think Aussies sound like & what Aussies actually sound like are generally VERY different things! Seth can't even pronounce emu right!
@@LindaC616 Clearly!
@@mehere8038 as a New Zealander, same complaint when they try to do a Kiwi accent. But that's why it's so funny 😂
@@fionaclaphamhoward5876 Do they actually even know the Kiwi accent is different to the Aussie one? I could imagine them trying to do an Aussie one & screwing it up badly, but then announcing that they were doing a Kiwi accent to both country's amusement.
At least they generally remember to include Australia on maps (unless it's a flat earth model, in which case apparently you can exist but we can't lol) Flag I think is probably pretty even with mix ups & using the other country's flag & not realising their error lol
I love Fred. Sooooo talented and funny!
That sketch sounds AMAZING.
i have a man crush on BOTH of these dudes.......... just GREAT people who happen to be in the business of entertaining ALL of us........... ty Fred ty Seth... ✌😎
Bill Hader, Seth Meyers, Fred Armisen, John Mulaney, Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg. I will always, always love these people. Forever.
Ian Rubbish is the greatest thing SNL ever did. I watch it regularly.
Oi! Police man! My boot goes in your face!
Just delightful
I’ve been a longtime fan of Fred and strangely enough, the end of this interview is the only time I’ve ever seen him where I knew he was authentically laughing and not doing a character.
I need to do that! I hope Fred puts out more music
Just watched the Ian Rubbish SNL sketch as a result of this video’s reference to it. It’s BRILLIANT! Highly recommend!
Going to...!
Well, the three of them did end up making a couple different Australian sketches setup as Australian cinema clips. Those were memorable too.
Can you find those on RUclips?

Very cool Fester...I look forward to more in Season 2
Armisen/Fester deserves his own themed episode on Wednesday.
@@davidwemett200 Fester the teacher!
Such a talented down to earth guy.
I'd die to see The Australians
You go first!
That Thatcher loving punk sketch was so amazing, it was just so specific
Fred is the best!
Oh Fred 🥹💚
As a child of the 80s, I need to watch the Australians
PLEASE DO IT WITH SECOND CHANCE THEATER
Hilarious chat 🤣
I should not be watching this Playlist on public transport. This is the most I've laughed in a loooong while. I must have looked deranged.
I have been told by thousands of people that I look like Fred Armisen specifically when he has black glasses on 😅😅😅 I’m very serious it’s like almost every day I have this comment
I can never tell if a story he is telling is true or a joke. It's the same expressions and tone.
That's half the fun. He's dry as hell and genuinely weird enough that most of his lies could easily be true.
A truly unique voice in comedy
Give your notes through a cupboard door. These bros are straight chillin' comin' up with new Doc Now content.
Answer; because you affect a certain tone based on to whom you are speaking.
'"based on to whom you are speaking" probably the worst grammatically correct sentence I've ever written.
Is that doubly passive?
Yes. And this.
Sentences cut short.
For the sake of prose.
For the sake of rose.
The one who I love.
Whom.
TIm RObinson was like.
No.
Can't you see?
This hot dog I must eat
I used to love Fred Armisen's Newspaper Guy stuff he did on Weekend Update. It was so funny because he wasn't trying to be funny. I think it was just filler when SNL didn't have enough sketches. But it was great because of the effort he put in it.
And you know it took way more effort to write it not to be funny than to be funny.
buying season 4 of doc now right now!
Oooohhhh WHAT ARE YOU DOIN HERE DEVIN.....I THINK YOU SHOULD GO HOME, I SAID GO HOME DEVIN!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fred's musical skits are amazing. I can't remember such a versatile, multi-talented cast member since Dana Carvey, who also wrote and performed songs on SNL. They even performed a song together ❤️
high praise! i love dana
When Seth first held up the picture of “Ian Rubbish” I thought it was Jim Jarmusch!
If ANYONE has a collection of scabs and mold it's Fred AND the fictional character of Uncle Fester!
wow can hardly wait to see Wednesday
So where can we see The Australians?
There's a touch of Liberace in Fred's Uncle Fester
I don't see/hear that at all.
and some of his Boy George
The British bit is basically the Norwegians playing Americans skit he did on SNL
"You will eat the cat poop immediately"
"Wallaby. Hugh Jackman. Didgeridoo."
Love Wednesday ❤❤❤
Californians was so funny
Steurrt, whurryew doeeneer??
Such a racist comment.
I've always been attracted to Fred. 😍🥰❤️
i thought fred armisen was the guest...that's george santos!
He looks like Noho Hanks
Also, when the heck is the new Documentary Now arriving?!?
Hi, I'm Google! Get to know me!
I love that Ian Rubbish sketch
Hey Maggie Thatcher, you’re alright!
imagine if fred joins the bluey cast
Oh, wait. I was thinking Fred Savage.
I guess I never realized that there are so many famous people named Fred.
Wake, woke, woken❗️Fred #FistBump
Oh he was fester in the Wednesday show, I wondered why Fred Armisen was on the show.
Where. is. the clip.
mi scusi
Perhaps there were a lot of Australians in the audience that night.
RELEASE THE TAPES
fred looks like tom hanks
OK, now I can't stop commenting. 😒
Ian Rubbish (who loved Thatcher) was something a European is able to enjoy AF. (Not sure if this is a compliment, but I'm snobby enough to think it is.)
Suitcase full of Vegemite for the trip.
What was the concern about Pax maybe in 2019?
i cannot tell if this entire interview was just one big bit or not
The last thing you want is to make your makeup team narrow their eyes. Good save.
Sweet Iron Lady marry me
Toilets don't flush differently in Australia.
Why do I feel like I've seen The Australians?
They did a sketch where they were Australian movie actors in an Australian movie. It's on RUclips
@@catha.j.stuart2200 Ah. The same characters exist in other sketches.
So... could Fred, Wiig and Bill co-host SNL sometime soon, might just save a sinking ship?
Fred didn't bring his band with him? I only follow the band.
If I were to ever form a punk rock band I would call it Recreational Brain Damage.
Why?
@@r.p.mcmurphy6623
It just came to me a couple or decades ago-I wasn’t trying to think of a name for a non-existent band or anything. Very likely it popped into my head because of something I was reading or heard in conjunction with reading material. I think it goes with musical style.
Correction: The toilets don’t flush backwards in Australia, as the Coriolis effect isn’t strong enough… our toilets don’t flush in any direction
I love Wednesday, I wish she was my girlfriend
yes about tim burton ... however, you have to know that he probably has a strong personality, since he was married to Helena Bonham Carter
PLEASE SECOND CHANCE THEATRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bad aussie accents are the best
God, Seth Fred is a bonafide actor/musician. Stop talking so fast during his segment like you have some other better multimillionaire actor that deserves slower talking. How disrespectful.
All these years and I forgot that Fred is also a Drummer, well all-round Musician. smh 🙄🤣👍
I’m not sure why Elliot would have me say certain things to sere or google certain things.
wanna see it woolamoola goolgong WA 'stralia

@@kickseek well as an Aussie I would have appreciated a translation
There is not enough love that Seth let Fred run his band.
Fallon has the Roots which is ridiculous because he isn't funny...but I love and respect all SNL Peeps..even if they suck like Fallon. (He's bad)
