When my playgroup finishes a game, I let players switch their most useful cards for alt art cards, sort of a way to leave a mark on useful cards for other players to enjoy
Some suggestions: Phone: Dawncaster PC: Griftlands, Vault of the Void and quite a few others I've tried out but these are probably ones I spent most time with.
I’m a huge rogue-like fan. And have played them all. PLEASEEEE try INSCRYPTION (don’t look anything up either. The surprises will be great) Also I would try WILDFROST. Two very different feels but great card games in their own rite. Have fun 😎👍🏼
Thanks for the fun unboxing Alex! Please CHECK underneath the large Boss cards - there are storage spaces for the small cards including separators :) - The "Not for Sale" tag is an important easter egg as mentioned by others below - it should stick out when playing just like in the app :P Received my copy two days ago and painted the minis right away. I hope to get it played over the weekend :D Really fabulous that it can be shared now. The balancing worked out top notch. Everything is still recognizable while different. They really knocked it out of the park :D
I love the digital game. But i just really like the idea of holding/looking at the cards in my hand instead of clicking them. And the mats are so pretty. Edit. Just in case you dont know, the NOT FOR SALE tag is not there to not sell the mat, its there to reference the game, its on the game too.
Well Monster Trsin OBJECTIVELY BESTED out slay the spire it was PC Gamer 2021 deckbuilder of the year. Plus if a game requires mods to be good thats a red flag for a game entering a genre
Just got mine today! So excited! The games rules are slightly different than the video game so im hoping to re-explore sts all over again. I think because its different in some ways it does deserve a 3rd reason to get the game. A lot of card changes etc and some mechanical differences. Its kinda like slay the spire the prequel. 4th reason is its a shaboss video game ;)
While I myself did not spring for the Beta Art pack - because I don't get that much mileage off of the sh*tposty art - I do know there is a fair contingent of backers who've picked up the Beta Art in order to have twice the cardpool. So, you may want to consider that before deciding whether or not rid yourself of it.
If you are looking to sell the Beta Art card pack, I may want to buy it. Currently waiting for my copy of the game, kept going back and forth on the beta art and decided not to get it when finalized my pledge, now I'm kind of regretting not getting it. For a while now, I've been playing Wildfrost.
Try out a game called Griftlands, it is quite unique in the fact that you actually have two decks to build simultaneously, a negotiation deck and a battle deck. It's really fun
Griftlands is my favorite, more than slay the spire (Even though I play STS more) I love the vibe and the two combat system too. Rook Coin go whirrrrrrr.
I think my favorite Rouge-Lite deck builder right now is Cobalt Core. Its in Space, and you have a spaceship. You pick 1 of 3 characters to be in your ship which determines which cards you start with. What makes it different from slay the spire is you need to line up your laser gun with the enemy ship in order to do damage with your damage card, to do this their are various movement cards. You also can move your own ship with certain cards to avoid the enemy from shooting you, or play shield cards like slay the spire to prevent the damage. So its basically Slay the spire with this additional movement mechanic.
Star Renegades is my current steam deck obsession. The rogue-like part of it is a longer burn than StS, but super satisfying combat and lots of stuff to unlock
I’ve downloaded Slice & Dice because of your comment and it’s so good! Managed to get thru Brutal once but unable to beat Hell mode. Which mode do you usually play with?
good idea because you spare over 100 euros lol ( i actually really want to try out that board game but everyone who defends that price is just an i*iot )
@@godot1785 I guess how much something is worth is different to every person but to me 100 bucks for slay the spire seems like a good deal. If I want a single decently competitive commander deck for magic the gathering it will cost me around 100 dollars to build. 100 bucks isn't even enough to get many groceries from the store that will get eaten in less then a week.
Balatro is the only card-based Rogue-lite I would consider as good or better than Slay the Spire. Wildfrost is my third favorite, but might have the best presentation of any game I've ever played.
The blue die is for your claw cards - its not for rolling so much as tracking how much damage each claw currently does
Don't cut your playmat! "Not for sale" is an Easter Egg! It's like on the video game!
Lol thanks, I didn't :)

The deckbuilder rougelikes that I love are Astrea, chorno ark, one step from eden, wildfrost and monster train.
Roguebook is the only other roguelike deckbuilder that has been really good for me
I tried it, I couldn't get into the map movement part

It wasn't until watching this video that I realized how weird that tag would look to someone who did not recognize it as part of the game.
man.. this is too pricey than the original steam game
Don’t cut the playmat 😂
I didn't :)
Hmmmmm I don't know Alex, that sticker looks sliiiiiightly crooked ;)
No! Say it won't so!
Nothing is better than Slay the Spire, but the game that comes close, IMO, is Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale
Wishlisted it :)

I'm with Areskram on this :)

I came here to see Alex drinking coffee. I expect decaf at the very least. No excuses Alex!
I hang my head in shame :(
I would say you're missing Inscryption. Have you played it already? It's a great game to me, I got really hooked.
Darn it...currently on sale, I'll have to get it. Seen it, never played.
@@BoardGameCo Please, do it. I hope you play and give us some feedback later

You also upgrade your cards by playing them a certain amount of times during the negotiations or battles too, which I think is a cool mechanic.
Griftlands is my favorite, more than slay the spire (Even though I play STS more) I love the vibe and the two combat system too. Rook Coin go whirrrrrrr.
2 you are missing is VAULT OF VOID the RogueLIKE deckbyilder on steam, Legends of Runeterra: Path of Champions Roguelite mode is AMAZING!!
Tainted Grail Conquest is pretty good. Deckbuilding roguelike with sweet Tainted Grail theming.

I would strongly suggest Loop Hero, it sucked me in for quite a while just like slay the spire did.
Star Renegades is my current steam deck obsession. The rogue-like part of it is a longer burn than StS, but super satisfying combat and lots of stuff to unlock
I am watching this video with a cup of coffee!
I envy you
I late pledged this based on the excellence of the early reviews - can't wait to receive my copy!

I don't know offhand, I've played it a lot, but haven't touched it in 6 months, I'd have to go look at the settings 🙂
Last Dungeon Pocket, a 32 cards deckbuilder!
Alina of the Arena is a really good twist on these games
I was not sure about this adaptation... I decided to stick with the digital version.

Also skipped this. I don’t think there is a reason unless you want to play co-op.
