  • Bhutanese man makes arrows. He heats up the stick for smooth finish.
Archery, the national sport of Bhutan, is a common feature of everyday life. It is played differently from the international game and is seen as a celebration of the country's way of life.
Call it love for the game or tradition, most Bhutanese men would not say "no" to a game of archery. Many of them own a set of the highly priced bow and arrows.
A compound bow - made of fiberglas and pulleys - costs between 50,000 to 100,000 Ngultrum, equivalent to about 1,600 euros.
The sport became very popular in the late 1920s, during the regime of Bhutan's second king, and is now an integral part of everyday life. However, it was only declared as a national sport in 1971, when Bhutan joined the United Nations.
The Bhutanese have been competing in the Olympics since 1984, but archery in the home ground is entirely different - in terms of how the targets are placed and the atmosphere.

Yea which I've used but the tape I used was duct tape or gorilla tape. Way to stiff for fletchings but this tape seems to work well

Nope! people here play archery a lot, a pair of those cost about 10 USD. I dont think Americans will travel all the way to Bhutan to buy a pair of arrows.

At 8: 45, a guy says : It hard to hit the target even with good arrows if not shoot with good aim.
Arrow maker : Is it ?
Guy : Some hit target with both of the arrows (Doubjey) of bad curly looking piggy penis.
    Lol. Savage Bhutanese jokes .
