For those wondering this is a real thing, it won’t fix any issues or make your car faster, but the throttle learns over time how far your pressing to get to and cruise at certain speeds , say when you want to go 25mph you press the pedal 25% of the way and 25% is 30mph from the factory, it will adapt to your pedal pressure over time, by adjusting throttle mapping according to your driving style, by doing this you’ll reset that programming, which for most(especially aggressive drivers) will give you a shorter press for each speed, however the best way to avoid the reprogramming is to drive normally, and apply gradual throttle pressure, once you learn how to control throttle you’ll realize that slamming your foot on the gas won’t accelerate any faster than a gradual push, matching throttle pressure to acceleration

This „trick“ bmw even wants you to know.
Basically what it does it make your automatic trans ecu to delete the last adaptions of driver behavior.
So basically it resets your automatic trans Ecu adaptions and it start new learning process.
It’s good to do this when you buy a used bmw.

If you turn on your ignition turn both heater control setting to the hottest setting you fan to the lowest setting, press and hold accelerator pedal for 10 sec, left off, do not close door as you get out to go listen but that is how you test your electric water pump. There are a million different sequences like that to test many functions. You have dealer setting you can access on your cluster by adding the last 5 digest of your vin, you can display temp, volts, and many other things.

What about a 2011 328i xdrive manual transmission? First time BMW owner and i love it more then my 2017 nissan 370z MT i had. The 328 is slow but i fell in live with the styling and tedious maintenance. Makes me want to be a BMW master tech.

I heard if you floor it as soon as you start it and keep the pedal on the metal for 5 minutes than you dont have to worry about cold starts ever again with that engine, specially good if you did not change oil for 30k km, dont listen to manufacturers

This is the procedure for resetting dynamic transmissions..
You only need to hold down the gas for 30secs and you dont have to wait an additional 2 mins.
