I just found a big dehydrator someone left on the curb to give away and started backpacking a few months ago. Perfect timing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
So glad you found it worthwhile! It is certainly our families go to for meals, mostly because it is so easy to dry. I have lot's planned for drying, but let me know if you want me to dry anything in particular. Cheers, Dustin
I'm just starting to get into backpacking or at least not camping directly at a camp site, tips like this are helpful for sure. I think dried proteins in general are a good topic because it's super simple to find dehydrated carbs from pasta, rice, and potatoes. I'm not sure of cost difference between canned and frozen vegetables but it would be interesting to compare prices of those vs fresh and the final texture as well as cost per gram or ounce once dried.
Thanks for that idea! I will keep making protein based videos for sure. I have plans for ground beef, ham and spam. I will also, try to remember to keep talking about cost per ounce as well. Great ideas! And enjoy your adventures deeper into the backcountry. It is very rewarding!

I love dehydrated chicken in my Thai Curry recipe, thanks for sharing!
Absolutely! Let me know how your meal turns out! Are you willing to share your recipe?
Cool! Chicken is great for so many recipes and a nice change from ground beef. Great job, please keep sharing.

Glad I could help! I hope it goes well for you!
I’m new to dehydrating. How long does it last when vacuum sealed properly? So much conflicting info on the internet. Thanks
Thanks for sharing that book. Gonna have to get one! 👍
Super.

Put that water in with your rice when cooking it (prior to dehydrating said rice?)
I hope to do that exact thing, in fact, prior to my next trip.
