M1 Carbine Unboxing - Royal Tiger Imports - 1944 Inland Mfg. - Inter Ordnance out of Ethiopia Africa

  • I just got my second shipment in from Royal Tiger Imports. This time I'm unboxing an American classic that has made its way back to the USA from Africa. These M1 Carbines were imported, along with a ton of other military surplus firearms, by Inter Ordnance. Unlike most of the other guns I've seen coming out of Ethiopia this rifle was actually in nice condition. It's a 1944 dated US Carbine Caliber 30 M1 produced by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors. The rifle came fairly clean, only needing a wipe down with some Ballistol. The bore is nice and shiny. The stock has some dents and dings but nothing major. The rifle was sold by RTI as good to very good condition and I would agree with that. I'm quite happy with my order but I was saddened to hear The State Department has blocked I.O. from bringing any more of these fantastic carbines back home for the foreseeable future. It looks like once the remaining rifles RTI have in stock are gone that's it. I'm glad I made the order when I did.
    Thanks for Watching!

I was gonna say that does look like mold on the stock lol. These guns need a good home. thank god that they got these things out of those deplorable storage conditions in ethiopia and into the hands of caring collectors

My Royal Tiger M1 Carbine (National Postal Meter) came yesterday and it is really nice. The stock shows a lot of good honest wear, but cleaned up nicely. The bore is bright and shinny with excellent rifling. The magazine that came with it was brand new (I wasn’t expecting that) it took me over half an hour to clean the cosmoline off. You were my inspiration to go ahead and order one and couldn’t be happier with it. Also ordered a 1896/11 Swiss from Edelweiss Arms, I never heard of them before, until I saw it on your

I got 2 1943 inland GM carbs for $149ea. If u dont take some meds for that illness the cannon & mortar bug mite hit as it did me. 10 cannons, 4 incompleat still & 5 mortars from 70mm to bowling ball. Really cool video on an iconic rifle!
The reliability issues basically come down to three factors:
    1. The recoil spring should be a bit stronger.
    2. The magazines are pretty fragile.
    3. The acceptable standards for reliability in the 1940s were very different from today. If a military weapon at the time malfunctioned about 3-5% of the time, that would often be acceptable.
Love your videos! Keep it up, man! :)

When they gonna find us some StG 44's?? So far as reliability and the MI Carbine I bought a civilian one once and it was a jamming reject. Returned it for an Iver Johnson. Fired no more then a few hundred rounds and many years larter traded it off to a guy who reported that within ten rounds at his first range visit the bolt broke to pieces. I was shocked and could hardly believe it but it was confirmed by a third party. And then there was the WWII Marine I worked with who saw action on Iwo Jima. He reported that the MI carbine was a jamming piece of junk. Maybe that's not a good over all view but with what I have seen and heard I won't own another one.

You might already have one but unless you have three hands do yourself a favor and get one of these bolt tools for bolt maintenance. Even then disassembly and assembly of the bolt is a pain. Trust me. Mine is a GM Inland 1943.

Taking that bolt down was a total pain. Thanks man!

    • @rbm6184

@@ReadinessReviews No problem. This tool makes it "less" painful. The bolt take down is truly a nightmare. The only thing that comes close is the firing pin take down on a Walther P38 slide. The dust cover will give you fits. BTW, do not put your mag springs in wrong. You will regret it. The spring end actually faces to the rear. Not forward.

Well now I feel bad. It’s a fine intro just unexpected. Good content though. And I’m really jealous of your M1 Carbine, those are illegal in NJ where I live. Doesn’t make any sense, I have a Garand, and I’m allowed a Springfield M1a but the old WWII m1 carbines are illegal.

I've been checking out your stuff for a bit now, and I like the stuff you put out. I'm actually running a gun channel in North Florida that is pretty similar to your own haha
One of my projects that I'm working on, is actually making an inner circle for us smaller gun channels. Seems like the larger channels all seem to know each other, so should we.
Check out my own channel, so I don't just seem like a stranger on the internet. I would love if we were to set up some sort of collaboration, or at least share some knowledge and experience with each other.

900 is cheap. 3 out of my 4 m1 carbine i paid 1200 to 3000$ each for them. My 4th m1 carbine is actually an m2 carbine full auto. It was an gift from my father. It been in my family possession since 1984.
