Thank you for your patience, I'm glad I was able to figure what was wrong with the video file. Here's the link to the video from 6 years ago that I mentioned in the video: ruclips.net/video/oQ5_WxFw4kM/видео.html
What a fantastic moment, when the day ends, and you are about to enjoy a nice warm meal with a couple of wine glasses, by the lake and into the woods.. Priceless! 😍👌👌
Some beautiful country and some great hills. There were a couple of tough spots there and I think staying on the roads was a good idea. Your videos are so good and your commentary is well done. Thanks again for another excellent video. Take care, Al
Thanks for taking me along on your Artic ride. It is aways nice to have the option of the trail or a paved road. When muddy or soft sand, or swarms of mosquitoes sucking the blood out of you, take the paved road.
A 34 minute climb up at 9% grade and you still had energy to dance, I’ve been looking for an oxygen mask! I’m impressed Mike👍🏻 Love the scenery it’s so beautiful I sure hope you enjoyed that glass of wine you deserved it!
Fantastic video once again! And what a rewarding moment when the day ends and you are able to enjoy a beautiful meal with some wine, in the woods, by the lake.. Priceless!
Hey Mike! Your videos are an inspiration that I could one day also ride the EDT😊. I also think you are capable of writing an amazing book about, that I would definitely read.
What a place Mike!! Lovely trails and beautiful camp spots a-plenty! A bikepackers/tourers paradise ;-) I'm off on a little tour of my own in the next few days so this is giving me inspiration ;-)
Great ride, as always😊 and yesss, duct-tape is a necessity when travelling. I had to patch my sleeping pad with duct tape 7 years ago, and the tape is still holding on 👌🏽
Mike....what an awesome video as always. I really appreciate you bringing us such beautiful content....even if it is a bit dusty from time to time. 😊 What are the odds of you and @duzer meeting up for a ride in the future? That would be pretty fun but if it doesn't happen I'm always looking forward to your videos. Thanks for bringing us along!!!!
I enjoy your videos and saw something very odd with your bike. It appears that your fork is backwards though I’m not completely familiar with the Kona line of bikes, but I’ve never seen a front disc brake with the calipers on the right side of the fork. The reversed fork would also make the handling very twitchy with very little to no rake. I hope that I’m wrong, but I’ve worked in 3 bike shops and will admit that I’m new to disc brakes, but the fork really looks backwards. Keep up the great work!
It is definetely backwards. I was very tired after three flights on the first day and somehow mounted it backwards. Didn't realize my mistake until I sat down and started editing the videos, where it got super obvious from certain camera angles. But I decided to leave those shots in anyhow to show people that mistakes can be made even if you've been at this bikepacking thing for the last years or so. I've fixed the fork since I got back home and had a l good old laugh at myself ;-)
@@BikeTouringMike Im new to your channel and love your videos. I noticed that also, at first I thought it was just a camera thing. Ive been riding for over 30 years and still make mistakes, we are all human. Keep up the great work. More power to you for riding a fully rigid bike. OLD SCHOOL.
@@Bikepacking Well, it really depends on the type and lenght of the video. But I guess these 40+ minute videos takes around 20 hours including making the thumbnail and optimizing it for RUclips.
If you deviate from the route and stick to paved roads, you could potentially be able to pull it off. But most of the gravel roads aren't maintained during winter, so youre looking at about 1 meter of anow cover on those roads. I wouldn't recommend going here during winter. It's extremely tough. An overnighter or a weekend might be fine, but you're going to need access to somewhere where you can dry your tent and clothes every other day or so. Hypothermia is waiting around the corner...
Hi Mike! I Love watching your videos! Do you have different bikes for different terrain? Do you have more than one bike? Just curious. I have 2 completely different bikes, but I don't do as much cycling as you do. Have a great day!!😊
Mike, what are the chances of you finding a bear in those high North areas you biked? Did you come across any, or even if they exist in those areas, they are even deeper in the country and nature?
There are bears all over northern Scandinavia but not many and they're normally very shy. If they hear or smell you first, they'll have quietly moved away and you'll not even know they were there. The exception being, as always, if you somehow manage to get between a mother and her babies.
Can you please turn off automatic title and description translation on RUclips. I think YT is turning on by default and it's absolutely butchering the translation. I rather have titles and descriptions in English since the whole video is in English too. Thanks in advance, you're doing great job.
@@BikeTouringMike funny enough it's not consistent. The latest 6 videos have titles in Polish, then starting from My Bikepacking Setup For My Trip In France, 4 videos have English titles, then again 6 Polish, 8 English, 3 Polish, 4 English, 2 Polish, and from Hiking in Kungsleden everything else is English. I hope that will help.

Another excellent video capturing a portion of your EDT tour. Thanks for sharing and taking us along with you :)
Thanks: nice to follow your trips
Thank you! That is very generous of you. Glad you enjoy following along.

Well done. That was a challenge!
Nice trip, the waiting for the video was worth the vieuws. Thanks Mike.

Really enjoying this series of videos. I too am glad for you, for not riding through that bog during peak mosquito season!
Fantastic adventure. Cycle toured that area about 30 years ago. Brings back many happy memories Mike.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful trip! Well done!
Great video Mike! I always enjoy riding along with you. This has been a great series! Thanks for bringing us along!
Brilliant episode, top stuff, Mike, thanks!
Very nice journey! Just correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the fork on your bike mounted wrong? Brake caliper should be on the left side 😊

Another great video. You really were lucky with the weather. Sometimes it rains for days in northern Sweden. When are you coming to southern Sweden?
👍
Hate air mattresses ... very smart to pack duck tape! :)
What a challenging ride! It looks like your riding a hybrid bike, is it steel or aluminum? Thanks for your videos Mike
Onya Mike beers up
Nothing has changed the last 50km before Jokkmok! 😂
Our schedule was changed aswel for us.

Fin film. Når startet du fra Kirkenes?
Thanks for your nice videos. What kind of rear bikerack are you using? Heja Sverige 🎉
Translation "The liquor store closes at 6:00 PM". That is a priority after a good day of riding.

@9 minutes into the video when your collecting water, is it safe to drink or will you have to boil it first?

It’s important to note that bicycles helmets also have an expiration date. Look inside the helmet it’ll tell you. I’m not joking.
285 meters in 6km !!!!!! Mike are you being funny?
That is not a hill it's a bump in the road. I wish the hills where I live were that gentle.
