Yo, it's the person who made the original iceberg! It's so weird seeing this uploaded. I remember you asking me if you could make this video months ago, and I randomly just stumbled onto it earlier today in my recommended vids! I think you're doing a great job covering everyone entry, and your delivery and style of humor are really fun to watch! Can't wait for you to get to the other tiers! The only two things I'd like to correct were: 1) In the theory about Stone Free having a self-preservation instinct, it was mostly based on the Johngalli A fight where the Stand was able to protect Jolyne's heart from a sniper round without her consciously reacting, as well as the introduction of the Stand where it listens in on police officers beating Ermes up without Jolyne noticing. 2) The theory about Jotaro having autism mostly stems from him being very closed off emotional, sometimes being borderline non-reactive to intense situations, not caring about other people's feelings, and often intentionally trying to act 'cool' around other people, but coming off as cheesy. There's also a sentence Araki added in his profile from Part 3 that states he "doesn't think it's necessary to deliberately show emotions, because he assumes people can understand what he's feeling by looking at him". Again, just a theory, but I'm adding more evidence. Otherwise, keep it up! And let me know if you have any other questions about any particular theories!
Hell yeah, I’m glad you enjoyed it!! I’m going to include corrections as each layer comes out, and fix everything for the final 5 hour video. I’ll keep in touch if anything else confuses me😂
More on the whole self preservation I stint theory. I don't think it really applies to Jolyne anymore than it would to maybe trish or Giorno. The subconscious usage of a stand seems to just be par for the course for someone who has developed a stand but has yet not become aware of it. Like in Trisha case, Spice Girl speaks to her as a separate entity, but in every subsequent use it seems to be just an extension of her own conscious control like that of most other users. Now that I think of it, Mista's Sex Pistols also displays autonomous self preservation as 5 saves Mista. Maybe the reason Mista's stand is seems to be separate consciousness especially from him as opposed to other is due to his superstitious mindset. Like an overwhelming belief in luck and faith, so the control he has over his stand mirrors the control he perceives himself to have in life. Maybe that's why Spice Girl, Star Platinum and Stone Free act autonomously/subconsciously until their users are made aware of them. The way a stand acts in relation to their user corresponds to that users perception of their own control of their power. There's probably some way Koichi and Echoes Act 3 fits into this (or contradicts this.) Idk. Sorry for the rambling and if this general idea was already touched I in the iceberg I'm halfway through just this first video and just wanted to dump my own 2 cents as it surfaces in my brain.
@@maxwellermeav If we consider Jotaro, Koichi, Giorno, Mista, Trish, and Jolyne; three of those Stands are fully sentient with their own personalities (Echoes, Pistols, Spice), one of them later becomes sentient (GER), one of them is an unusually powerful Stand (Star Platinum), and the remaining example is Jolyne, who is the daughter of Jotaro, thus probably is disposed to the same ability. It's a pretty likely thing that basically all Stands activate without the user consciously trying to use it, but in all the examples you listed (except Giorno), the Stand activates automatically to protect the user. That doesn't happen much.
I've always believed that Joseph was faking being senile. Like, yes, he's the ULTIMATE trickster, but also, a part of me thinks he truly just wanted to grow old with his wife, but never really lost his touch.
I doubt he was faking it because there’s a few instances where his life is put in danger, and he doesn’t do anything about it, he still has some wit of course but the way Josuke tricked him with the wallet thing at the end would’ve never caught Joseph off guard even in part 3, so I think he’s just getting old, which is honestly fine because atleast he didn’t die horrifically
Where is this fact that people are assuming he wanted to grow old with his wife from, like genuinely why do people think this where is this from, they had a very one sided relationship
33:10 I believe that okuyasu did not erase his father from existence because he has stated that even he does not know what happens to the things he erases, if they go somewhere, just straight disappear so as to avoid furthering their fathers suffering the hand was not used
I think bites the dust isn't a Requiem stand but a Requiem ability Killer queen didn't change looks(The cat plant doesn't count) The arrow went into kira, not killer queen Requiem is based off how mozart made his Requiem before dieing, and Giorno was near death by the time he got it
Requiem was named that because the first Requiem we saw was Chariot, which embodies to a T the myth/legend about how Mozart wrote his piece after meeting "a shadowed figure in black". Giorno himself would have died without GER, but clearly he's taking the established nomenclature from the only other known Stand that evolved in that way. It's not the first time that Stand Users more or less extend a naming scheme from one Stand to similar ones, either by ability or by vague similarity in how it evolved. (See Jotaro taking The World (DIO's Stand's name) for naming Star Platinum's similar/identical time stop ability.)
I would like to point out that Diavolo did not keep the beetle arrow he kept a regular arrow that was used in polpos stand Black Sabbath. Polnareff is the one who found the beatle arrow in Egypt
I just wanna say the “jotaro is neurodivergent” theory extends a lot further than his interest in marine biology, his mannerisms and personality in the series is also quite indicative of being on the autism spectrum. For one he's not very expressive, and his bio states that "he assumes people know how he feels, which leads to many misunderstandings". He’s very blunt and to-the-point, and as can be the most clearly seen at the start of the Sheer Heart Attack arc when he’s walking with Koichi, he is not very strong in the social cues department (not bothering to make conversation, flat out ignoring Koichi at one point). Many autistic people struggle with socializing within neurotypical spaces and often have trouble reading social cues. (Although maybe that’s a stretch and he could also just be a quiet person who doesn’t give a shit) Another thing adding onto the socializing aspect- it’s not explicitly stated, but he’s not shown to have a lot of friends prior to part 3’s events. Even after part 3 and 4, he’s not shown to have a lot of friendships besides Polnareff (relatives don’t count, and his relationship with Koichi is more mutual respect than friends) Once again, it’s common for people with ASD to prefer being alone or have trouble making friends. Keep in mind though of course autistic people can have many friends, what I’m referring to is just something that’s commonly seen among autistic ppl. Which can be said for all of the other stuff I’m mentioning too. Him getting mad when people are talking loudly could be interpreted as a sensory issue. I’m not gonna count the start of part 3 when the girls are fawning over him because, well, anyone would get upset at being groped and fought over. But at the start of part 4, when the girls start screaming after he punches Josuke, he yells at them to shut up, which I believe is a bit more unreasonable than the previous example. Him calling Polnareff “annoying” for simply asking for help with the menu could also be due to the fact that Polnareff is a very loud person. He also unreasonably loses his temper when the two women ask him to take a picture for them and start chattering over each other (I refuse to believe this is because he’s a misogynist). And finally repetitive behavior - the constant hat tipping, clenching his fist etc can be seen as stims (one of the more major characteristics of autism) even his catchprase "yare yare daze" can be interpreted as echolalia, also common among autistic individuals. He also barely changes his wardrobe, which could also indicate a desire for routine. I might be forgetting some examples, and I may be incorrect on some things since I myself am not autistic (at least not that I know of) but this is my personal interpretation of his character. Of course I highly doubt Araki was writing Jotaro with autism/neurodivergence in mind, and all of these traits can be easily explained outside of the story, but it’s interesting to make connections. He was definitely written to be this strong, silent, badass lone hero, and he is! But I also think interpreting his actions and personality as due to something other than just “being a badass” humanizes him a lot more. Reading deeper into a character (a lot deeper than I probably should) has made me a big fan of Jotaro, especially considering the first time I watched part 3 I thought he was very boring. Sorry for the essay, I really really like this character lmao. I also wrote this out before fully reading the pinned comment, oops
I did read all of that and I agree, I actually talked about this theory with my girlfriend, who's autistic, and she liked it and said that she does indeed some traits in Jotaro.
I totally agree! Remember that scene with Anne though? When Jotaro was touching her chest finding out she’s a girl, he crossed boundaries with her. She was showing her discomfort and he didn’t understand. Often times, autistic people may use physical touch to understand or process things better. And they also don’t understand when someone is showing discomfort or expressing their emotions. Just a thought :)
The debate behind Mikitaka's alien status is so funny to me. This is a series with vampires, superhuman beings who eat vampires, a robot nazi, unexplainable fighting spirits that people can just have; but some people still go "ehhh maybe he's full of shit" when the question of 'is Mikitaka an alien?' comes up.
I’ve almost completely broken down Araki’s philosophy and surprisingly I don’t think Mikitaka is an alien anymore, I’m leaning towards the theory that he’s a chunibyo. Every phenomena, ability, and seemingly “bizarre” part of the show has a basis in quantum mysticism, especially as it gets further along. Alien Mikitaka doesn’t fit into that mold super well, but that could also mean I’m wrong about Araki’s vision with the series - to explain the truth behind every anomaly in our world. I have a video about it coming out in like 30ish days
Hamon, he promised Josuke (though I'm not sure this was said) that he would care for Shizuka as he would've cared for Josuke had he been around, and that inspired him to be strong for Shizuka and Josuke. Thus he trained his Hamon and cured his senility for a time at least, though I'm not sure how canon this is it makes the most sense to me
The gay speedwagon one isn't just a joke. "He never married" and "They were the best of friends" were common tropes/sayings to allude to a character being gay when you aren't able to outright state that a character is queer. The reason for not being able to disclose that varies depending on person, fan base, country, and more
Couldn't have said it better myself, In translations as well, it's stated "a lifelong bachelor, he never married' which was a Victorian euphemism for "gay man". There's so much more to this
Fun fact about sorbet and gelato, in each subsequent version of part five, from manga to translation to anime to dub anime, the language used to describe why the two were missing from that meeting got less an less ambiguous. I can't remember off the top of my head but i think it went from like: "Those two are always hanging out together" "Those two are inseparable" "Those love birds are always together" "Those two are porking non-stop"
30:20 so anyone who wasn't Joseph or Kakyoin, souls just went to presumably rotting corpses in coffins. Remember how his victims act upon losing? They go into an unwakeable coma-like state. Most people aren't stand users and therefore just thought their loved ones just went into comas never to wake up there's no way they could have kept their body's living and preserved for so long, long enough for jotaro to beat him. Crazy to think about
I think Joseph is definitely senile. The man was dead for the entire fight between Jotaro and Dio and then had his blood completely drained by Dio halfway through the fight. My man was totally 100% dead with no blood for atleast 10 minutes.
@lukewilsontv Oh yeah thats also true. I'm more saying the intense brain damage he would've taken during the Dio thing would be hard to recover from though. :p
@@Spyno41 That's what I'm saying. He was only resurrected by Dio's blood. The little Hamon training he did in between then and the events of Part 4/5 were the only reason he was still alive. The minutes without bloodflow to his brain would leave him with brain damage causing senility later in life.
in addition to the theory that doppio was the first one, think its implied that he was born with both personalities in the scene where his eye colour changes when hes an infant
Doppio is the one in control at all times and the personality that has king crimson. King crimsons head that has diavolos stand shows that, its doppio with someone in his head. Diavolo takes his stand, diavolo took control even tho he wasnt given it
21:30 adding onto this theory, I like to think that Joseph might have been a little senile, but raising Shizuku managed to reignite an old spark inside of him to bring out his more active side we've come to know him for
I think rather than a potential marine life hyperfixation, the theory of Jotaro being neurodivergent mainly connects to his social interactions with others. His reserved nature, and his more subdued or blunt ways of expressing his feelings. When showed his backstory, despite having a somewhat normal childhood he seemingly struggled a lot with forming meaningful connections outside of his family until he met the Stardust Crusaders. He has a lot of love for his friends and family but seemingly has issues expressing it properly. It could imply a possible underlying neurodivergence, or it could be developments from other factors in his life.
Jotaro pre part 3 was just a 16-17 year old kid who was sweet but tried to act tough and cool at school. Once you get knees deep in a persona like that you can't really do a 180 without throwing people off and have them scratching their heads. Anything after part 3 is scars left from the fight with Dio. Remember that in between parts 3-6, Jotaro is constantly getting hunted by Pucci's subordinates and still kicking their asses. Plus having a wife and kids and not being able to settle, it takes a toll on a man.
Or, get this, he was just stoic. Araki based him heavily on Clint Eastwood of the Dollars trilogy and the like. It's fun to think-tank and such but most of the fan discourse gets lost in the proverbial sauce because they latch onto ideas not supported by the text
The Diavolo part is very interesting. Especially how his backstory sounds more like an urban legend. Which makes sense, since Diavolo wants to practically be invisible to society. Doppio couldve been developed with his obssesion of staying in the shadows and Doppio acts as him hiding in plain sight, since he looks younger and looks like a grunt serving Diavolo.
I wrote a whole essay awhile back on Mikitaka being an alien or not, and came to the conclusion he was an alien with the evidence provided in the text and outside knowledge of aliens and Nordic Aliens. Yes, there is potential of him just being a stand user, but I think there's more evidence that he is an alien. I'll post the essay maybe in the comments if anyone is interested. And regarding Speedy? He's an asexual man that isn't looking for love, just the grind (Though I think he's pan too).
That's the conclusion I came to as well when I was high asf and spent a whole night researching it and reading all of the info we have about him lmao, I'd like to see your essay though to see if there's shit I'd missed
His Appearance The common comparison for Mikitaka to being an Nordic Alien. He follows all the definitions of one which is: fair skin and blonde hair. While he doesn't fill the whole criteria of having blue eyes and being 6-7 feet tall, there is at least a possibility of variation of those aliens. Also his pin are in the shape of an UFO, a star with 'E. T' inscribed, and an infinite 8 around a star and moon. Each both have to do with ufology and general space terminology. The UFO is pretty self-explanatory since that specific shape is iconic for being related to extraterrestrials. The 'E.T' means 'Extraterrestrial' which means being not from earth (and also a reference to the movie of the same name). And also that Infinity sign could possibly mean solar day possibly. Another detail could be that he has pointed compared to everyone else. Giving him the slight appearance of an elf expressed by some fans. However, this isn't good enough evidence since Jolyne's lawyer exist; he has pointed ears and he's considered human within the text of SO. And the chain from his nose and ears seem to just be a design choice. Overall, with all the references to aliens and terminology to it. The idea for Mikitaka begin an alien gets a point. Alien: 1 Stand User: 0
S] Also the added choice of him being in a school uniform could be him trying to blend in more -------- His Behaviours When we first get introduced to Miki, was in a crop circle, asleep. Which visually is already a point for the alien side. He also wakes up in a weird way, dramatically zooming straight up and then turning to Okuyasu and Josuke nonchalantly. Also when he ask where he is, and Oku replies with "In a field in Grape Hills in Morioh"; he then bluntly states: " So, this is Earth. " This is already a clear sign that there's something different about him. That and the phrasing of 'Earth' makes him unfamiliar with the place. Though if he's a stand user, he could be joking around like what Oku and Josuke assumed. But Miki continues to do more things that counter that thinking... For example, he continues to go on about how he's not from here. Like explaining that he went unconscious for '13 Earth hours.' Or explaing that he's from 'The Magellanic Clouds'. All things that he mentions as fact. Which Oku and Josuke slowly grow unnerve of this.
Then when Josuke gives him tissues for his wound, he eats it. And thanks Josuke for them. Thus weirding out Oku and Josuke itno leaving. There's also things like mentioning he's a intergalactic pilot, having weapons on him that he left in his spaceship, accepting the label of 'alien', coping Oku's movements, and his bag that seems to summon things (Ex. Ice Cream). With all of this, you can still believe that he's pulling the two teens legs or something, including the part of keeping his saucer a secret. But once Okuyasu accuses Miki of lying, he gets defensive. Which if you think he was joking, that when Oku assumes this, that he would drop his act. But he doesn't… Plus the added fact that he's sensitive to the sound of sirens on firetrucks; to the point he start gettting hives makes certain things clear. He's being dead serious about being an alien. So with all things considered. With him being serious with his claims, doing very usual things than a normal person would, and the way he talks gives another point to the Alien. Unless He's really good at joking. Alien:2 Stand User:0
Bites the Dust might be a requiem ability because it reflects its user's deepest desire but cranked up to a hundred. Kira wanted to keep killing women but to be never found out - and Bites the Dust gives him exactly that. After all, Silver Chariot requiem had a crazy mind-swapping and stand controlling ability - nothing to do with its original basic fencing ability.
i think it's stated that okuyasu don't know if the things the hand erases just disappear or go somwhere. He isn't shure if he would kill his father or send him somwhere where he is still alive in like other dimention
Joseph is my favorite Joestar not only by his wits, but dedication to always help others and he's also a flawed hero. He cheated on Suzie with Josuke's mom and while we'll never know the circumstances that lead to it. However, anyone claiming he's a neglectful person, clearly do not understand his character. He risked his life for not only Holly, but all the Stardust Crusaders. Even though he trusts his companions, he always puts himself in danger before anyone else unless it's out of his control. It's why he accepted to play Darby after Polnareff got his soul taken away. In Part 4, Jotaro explained that Joseph only found out about Josuke through documentations and he was willing to give a third of his wealth to him, which Josuke declined. Joseph also bled without a second thoutght for the baby, which Josuke respected him for, as he's not as bad as he initially thought.
Yeah, I also feel like people who keep saying he neglected Josuke forget that he litteraly didn't know Josuke existed, and Jotaro says the first thing he does after learning about Josuke is try to get a picture of him with Hermit Purple. He was banned from coming to Morioh because he wasn't fit for battle anymore, but the second another opportunity came up he immediately went because he wanted to see Josuke. Also in the manga there's more info that Tomoko did not try to contact Joseph about her pregnancy because she knew he was married. And given that Joseph as a businessman is well known enough that Koichi in japan has heard about him. Tomoko definitely didn't want to get caught in the middle of high profile drama.
When I hear the “Bites the Dust is a requiem” discourse, I often find myself on the side of: Bites the dust was Araki’s first time experimenting with the idea of a Requiem stand. A stand can get more powerful via stabbing with the arrow, that’s the core idea. If anything Bites the Dust is the beta version of Requiem stands. A rough sketch of an idea before a more refined concept with rules.
Araki actually said he made Kira too op, and he “wouldn’t be surprised if josuke lost” or something to that effect. This was in an interview from like 2008
@@lukewilsontv btw, do you have a business/youtube email that you can receive more lengthy messages? I watched your Jojo explains everything video and I have a theory adjacent to that i would love to run by you
About the ''Speedwagon is gay'' theory, there IS a bit more of evidence besides just the memes. First, Joseph insinuates this to Erina on Battle Tendency, and there's some official media (I don't remember if it was a character description, a interview or a book) where the possibility of Speedwagon having romantic feelings toward Jonathan is mentioned, although mostly just as a joke.
Keicho HAS tried to kill his father, But CANT he regenerates at an extreme speed and can't die, okuyasu and his za hando can erase things, making his dad disappear would kill him or so we believe, okuyasu doesn't actually know where anything he erases goes and neither does keicho, keicho wouldn't want to make his brother the one with the perfect ability for the situation have to end his own father so he tries to find a random person to do so
36:49 The way I see it the different "Modes" of the pillar men are their stands, Kars's experiments with the stone masks was him trying to make better stands but didn't quite know just how much potential they actually have. Even Hermit Purple could conduct the ripple. And it's never been stated anywhere, but I think Tonpetty being able to tell how someone would die by shaking their hand was also a stand power.
The joseph not being senile could be both true and false, iirc araki confirmed joseph took on hamon training again to be able to be there for shizuka, so in part 4 he could've started to go senile, then shizuka gave him a reality check and he became more and more lucid after taking on hamon, then by part 6 he's becoming senile again
Ever since getting into Jojo, I've been mulling over the idea that the Pillar Men are an evolution of Stands and/or Stand Users from an ancient era. They assert themselves as objectively superior to humanity and cannot be hurt the same way a normal human can. Outside of Hamon and sunlight, a weakness evidently created by the mask, the only way Joseph is able to hurt them is by turning their own strength against them. The Pillar Men also have unique supernatural abilities that, in many ways, feel like a precursor to stand abilities. The Pillar Men are even named with a naming scheme similar to how Stands would be named starting with Part 4. I like to headcanon that the Pillar Men, either through some quirk of Stands that have yet to be uncovered in the "modern day," or through a specific powerful stand ability, found a way to become one with their own stands and unlock a new stage of evolution for humanity.
To make matters worse for kqbtd is a requim theory, it isn't sentient. Requiem stands can act independently of their users, but btd is still just an automatic stand, notna sentient one
When it comes to the Doppio being the original one, would it not be obvious that Doppio IS the original (at least based on appearances) since we see him as a baby and the baby clearly has brown eyes which matches Doppios eyes but not Diavolo who has green ones? I know it's a very small thing but still is it not also important to think about their different appearances as well.
the theory about doppio makes a lot more sense realistically if you consider doppio to be the original personality, I did an essay about it for psychology once but basically DID can really only be caused by trauma before the age of like 6 years old and I believe being born in a prison and being separated from his mum would have done that. You see him living a normal life with his adoptive father until one day he meets his mum again as a teen and this is the event that floods all the trauma that he had blocked out from his infant years back into his brain. This was likely what caused the split and this is the time he buries his mum alive and then sets his entire town on fire to cover his tracks, I'd like to think that event is the birth of DIavolo. When looked at in the context of DID and what is known about it it is far more likely that the personality experiencing memory loss and blackouts is the original or core personality and that another one forms overtop to protect the original from similar trauma by being stronger and more ruthless or hiding and avoiding it that way. In a psychological context, Diavolo has such a tight grip on everything around him in an attempt to control the entire world just so that doppio never has to experience the trauma that he once did again. It's basically an exaggerated defense mechanism of doppios brain and I think It's super interesting how it was written.
Oh and as for the age thing I believe doppio is portrayed in a childlike way due again to the fact that he is being protected by diavolo and that doppio still acts and is stylized as the age that he suffered the split event because from that point on his alter ego took over. This is less scientific and more symbolic in my mind but makes for such an interesting character.
I think a lot of people take memes too literally, the PTSD and Autism stuff are good examples, the Autism was a meme meant to insult Jojo fans and the PTSD were just from funny edits of those "signs of PTSD" or emotional edits of those moments. None of these theories hold any real ground when you understand either of those two
i completely disagree as an autistic person myself Jotaro acts noticably autistic in many ways and I dont think its a meme meant to insult Jojo fans but rather a connection made by them (many of whom are autistic) that makes quite a lot of sense looking at his behaviour
Fun fact about Mista, if you average out the amount of times he gets shot by his own bullets over the course of part 5 (which takes place in about a week) he shoots himself every 4 hours on average
About the whole Jonnathan is star platinum, I think he mentioned at the end of part 1 that he will follow Dio forever, so I interpreted it as Jonnathan being star platinum and the world
I think Bites the Dust is more like an ultimate ability, like in a videogame where you have to level up to a certain level to unlock your best ability. While requiem stands are more like evolutions like in Pokémon where a Charmeleon evolves into a Charizard. They unlock new abilities, and their old abilities become stronger.
I think Killer Queen : Bites The Dust is a Requiem Ability, it's consistent with how a requiem ability is acquired (granting the persons wish in a bizarre way), and it's broken the same way a requiem ability is
@@lilsquiddle1964it does. Polnareff didn't want Diavollo to get thr arrow, hence SCR's abilities. Giorno needed something to counter Diavollo's "cause erasure", so he got his "effect erasure" also, the entirety of the stand theme is around the user's will being manifested
@@koul_is_eternal SCR replaces people's souls with those from another world. It's "personality" is that it wants to protect the arrow. And again, it wasn't stated. That's speculating what it does based on hints, but it was never outwardly said in JoJo or by Araki.
@@lilsquiddle1964 Wait what, citation for the "replaces souls with those from another world" please? I only found that it swaps souls with "something else", which is a LOT less specific. You sure you're not confusing it with D4C's ability, which DOES mess with other worlds?
@@neoqwertyNot sure if it specifically said from another world as it's been a minute since I watched the episode with SCR, but in this context "something else" and "from another world" are about the same. My point is that it swaps the souls of organisms with a foreign creature as it's primary ability.
ain't requiem like a granted ability to help whoever used it in their time of desperation/struggles, or to counteract someone who cheats fate Kira had made a drastic mistake, he killed hayato, so what did he need? the reversal of that, the arrow saw he was in despair, and granted him the ability to rewind time (also fuck off for the frame at the end) giorno was outmatched by someone who cheated fate with time erase, so the arrow gave him the ability to nullify changes in time, which basically made king crimson just red punchy man, another point I'd like to bring up Pucci's made in heaven ability is probably tied to jotaros time stop ability. We know that fate is like a force in jojo, and it cannot be cheated through normal means. Dio constantly avoided attacks and cheated death multiple times with time stop - he cheated fate - so jotaro was given the ability to stop time, which dio clearly didn't have experience with moving in others stopped time. Jotaro used stop time multiple times in part 4 and 6 to cheat death most notably in part 4s failed bites the dust scene, where he stops time where Kira was so close to detonation, cheating his fate if getting rewound. Pucci's goal of having a universe where everyone knows their fate could be a big reason why mih even exists, but mih has time speedy upy, which makes timestop near useless, as he has like 2 seconds to do anything. Jotaro cheated fate, fate gave Pucci the ability to nullify timestop, jotaro is killed, dio cheated fate, fate gave jotaro the ability to stop time for an advantage, dio is killed.
You can easily say fate worked against Pucci in the end with Weather Report's automatic attack in Emporio's room, though you bring up great points regardless
Regarding the D'arby theory, I think it's super cool to think that he recognized Jotaro's stand as being the same as The World. It makes sense that he would freak out so much if he even had an ounce of thought that Jotaro could stop time as well, opening the doors to him swapping cards, etc.
About a week before Giorno met the gang. Mista ran into a stand user with a Stand that predicted people's death, he attacked it thinking it caused death.
I believe that keicho chose not to have okuyasu kill their father because as it’s explained, even okuyasu doesn’t know where the things he wipes out go. That’s too much trauma to put your little brother through even with how desperate they were.
The thing is, it's explicitly stated that the Nijimura family father is immortal, he just regenerates, neither brother could kill him, that's why Keicho was making stand users
So the beetle arrow in Part 5 is actually irrelevant to the creation of a requiem stand. any stand arrow can do it and nowhere is it stated that only the beetle arrow can do it in fact it's unique appearance is pretty much not even acknowledged and it likely just looks different because it's important to the plot and to differentiate it from the arrow Polpo had to avoid confusion
Keicho could not have killed his father because of the regeneration okuyasu couldn’t have done it because he doesn’t know where his stand sends things so he could possibly just live eternally in a void if he were to erase him
Mikitaka being an autistic human implies that overstimulation and meltdowns can send stands out of control (if we are to assume his rash is indeed EWaF)
I think the reason why Speedwagon never married is because marrying someone would mean that all of his assets will be shared by the next of kin, had he married someone the foundation wouldn't be used to the full extent by the Joestars.
My favorite theory i have is that Star platinums power isn't to stop time. It's to mimick the world. He gained the time stop after witnissing dio do it. EoH isn't cannon, but it shows jotaro gaining the world over heaven's ability after fighting him even though dio gained his reality warping powers from an outside source
I don’t think Diavalo had the beetle arrow. He gave it to enya. This is because we know white snake and heavy weather were awakened by pucci using the arrow dio gave him. If Diavalo had the beetle arrow, dio wouldn’t have it to give to pucci or be in Egypt for polnareff to find after the events of part 3.
The Joseph Joestar faking senility is very believable, but that it ruins alot of the small character growth for him in part 4, with him finding another purpose with Shizuka, if he can't fix what he had with Josuke, he could at least help her. And he actually became alot better after the end, he started talking in the ending in a much fuller voice and all, and alot more energized and alot more animated, which does happen to people who turns senile or has a cognitive decline when they find a deeper purpose or just find another fun thing that they can do in their lonesome. I actually forgot where I heard this but I was thinking the theory was wrong too, I just didn't have a reason too until someone said that does happen with people who turn senile or just has a big cognitive decline with age.
I like to argument that Doppio is og personality and Diavolo is made up because more often than not person with split personality disorder doesnt know about made up one. Also personality split mostly to protect from trauma (this is a low-point for this theory: what trauma?) and with stands in the way i dont think aging would be something special. Another one is that Doppio went to Bucciarati's body and Bucciarati to Diavolo's, which may imply that he was original
Nah real, the idea that diavolo existed without doppio makes no sense, it's literally explained that doppio was always very gentle, nice and wimpy and that diavolo due to simply lacking control was forced to influence him by other means
I mean functionally bites the dust is a requiem stand It functions on the same concept its just before the concept is named and finished it's effectively just the concept of requiem stands being beta tested
The beatle arrow has no significance as shown in many instances all the arrows are exactly the same, like you said a requiem stand is only created when the stand gets pierced by the arrow not the user
I think Bites the Dust is conceptually what requiems would become without having to fully delve into how they work incase the concept doesn't stick or wanted to change how it works later on without having to fully ret-con the ideas. Yet, none of this is to say the ideas the BTD weren't the start of what was to become requiems as it still was created by an arrow, at Kira's lowest moment/moment of desire, and gave an ability that the user could utilize. It was a safe way to toy with the concepts but not have to go all in if he or readers didn't like it, while still adding to the story. Also Doppio's segment honestly shows you did like, no research on DID let alone understanding Doppio or Diavolo's backstory. For context, DID is yes, not well represented but none of this is to say there isn't some reality still added in. See, the birth story of Diavolo is meant to be supernatural likely for certain ideas such as soul dualism but also because we aren't meant to understand Diavolo. Nevertheless, as a child he was described as timid and not that smart which fits more into the idea of Doppio over Diavolo, with the only descriptor fitting Diavolo being that as a kid he was 'frank.' Throughout these scenes, even the appearance was closer to Doppio than Diavolo being more-- but going back to DID alters are founded to protect the core. Likely what happened was when his mother came looking for him as a young child, aka when DID is most set to form, Diavolo was formed in attempt to protect Doppio thus creating him as an alter. I likely doubt Diavolo even if young would have been so careless but Doppio genuinely makes sense to fall in love and promise to return, but Diavolo wouldn't follow through. When the priest found his mother's body, the alter took control once again as protection of the core and killed everyone in means of self protection. Furthering alignment to actual DID the core is the one to often face a more amnesia like state after alters take over sometimes not even knowing they have the alter; which would fit more as Doppio think he is communicating with the boss as a separate entity not himself [which is internal]. DID in this case isn't the best representation, but it really doesn't seem like it has no space without being tied into other concepts. It's clear at least beyond the character has more mental health issues going on to create the level of obsessiveness to protect themselves, but Doppio being the host fits narratively much better. In personal take ignore that Joseph was becoming more senile in part 4 ignores the narrative of what part 4 Joseph is meant to be. Joseph is inherently a flawed protagonist, seen many times which doesn't make him bad but does make him more than Johnathan or Jotaro. His cheating and disconnection now to other family seems to play a role in parts of this, Joseph being senile highlights moreso the lack of what is happening around him as things continue to change. By no means could be have not been playing it up because honestly that seems more like something he'd find funny but narratively it's not until Joseph is finally able to find that fulfillment in his life through becoming a father again and getting to work on his mistakes in the past does he manage to gain more lucidity. Joseph always strives to be better, it's one of his better traits that we see throughout ever part but it's also a flaw that Joseph unless pushed tends to fall stagnant; needing others to often create that push for him to want to be better. So, of course when Shizuka is more grown up in part 6 that senility would likely start to come back. Also, other comments have mentioned Joseph wasn't necessarily an absent father because he wanted to he just literally didn't know Josuke existed. Okuyusa not just swiping away the father is because neither of them know how the stand works or where things go. It's unclear if they are deleted or just displaced and how they would affect you know. A mutated vampire-human who's cells rapidly regenerate. Keicho comes off as wanting to be certain his father is put to rest and dead, the reality is what Keicho is doing might be morally wrong and he isn't good but still comes from parts of his goal being an act of mercy against his father and wanting to protect his brother.
Requiem abilities are way more powerful, so unlikely. Like the two we've seen are absurd, alternate dimension mind swapping and straight up fate nullification aren't the same as rewinding time IMO, I think BTD should be considered as some middle of the road ability, not requiem but not your average stand abilitiy
Boingo and Oingo name's aren't Zenyatta and Mondatta, that's just the english localization. Understandable mistake, but please just use the normal names. It's ANNOYING!!!
i think the reasoning for the autistic jotaro theory is reductive at best. when you look at jotaro's behavior, such as difficulty expressing emotions (think how he shows his love for his mom), blowing up when bombarded by women (possible overstimulation which persists even in part 4), he is seen as rude (not understanding or not caring about social conventions), and a smoking habit (this ones more of a reach, but could be seen as stimming via oral fixation). these are all classic symptoms, which can be found similarly to how you found the criteria for ptsd. just what i've seen online about it
Yo, it's the person who made the original iceberg! It's so weird seeing this uploaded.

The only two things I'd like to correct were:
1) In the theory about Stone Free having a self-preservation instinct, it was mostly based on the Johngalli A fight where the Stand was able to protect Jolyne's heart from a sniper round without her consciously reacting, as well as the introduction of the Stand where it listens in on police officers beating Ermes up without Jolyne noticing.

@@lukewilsontv SMGuinea is totally fine. Thanks for asking!
I think that the Jotaro hearing loss theory is definitely a reference to the "The rain sounds like Josuke" thing near the end of part 4.
I'm half sure that's Jotaro referring to lightning sounding like Josuke's screams.

I've always believed that Joseph was faking being senile. Like, yes, he's the ULTIMATE trickster, but also, a part of me thinks he truly just wanted to grow old with his wife, but never really lost his touch.
Faking senility would've made sense if he actually met Josuke's mom.
33:10 I believe that okuyasu did not erase his father from existence because he has stated that even he does not know what happens to the things he erases, if they go somewhere, just straight disappear so as to avoid furthering their fathers suffering the hand was not used
I think bites the dust isn't a Requiem stand but a Requiem ability
Killer queen didn't change looks(The cat plant doesn't count)
The arrow went into kira, not killer queen
Requiem is based off how mozart made his Requiem before dieing, and Giorno was near death by the time he got it
Requiem was named that because the first Requiem we saw was Chariot, which embodies to a T the myth/legend about how Mozart wrote his piece after meeting "a shadowed figure in black".

(Although maybe that’s a stretch and he could also just be a quiet person who doesn’t give a shit)
Another thing adding onto the socializing aspect- it’s not explicitly stated, but he’s not shown to have a lot of friends prior to part 3’s events.
I ain't reading all of that
@@pieskobi943same
I did read all of that and I agree, I actually talked about this theory with my girlfriend, who's autistic, and she liked it and said that she does indeed some traits in Jotaro.
@@pieskobi943 then don't
I have a video about it coming out in like 30ish days
nah just found out about you and i already love you man
I love you too bro😢
It is said in the final chapter of the 4th part manga that joseph had "shaken off any signs of senility."
Hamon, he promised Josuke (though I'm not sure this was said) that he would care for Shizuka as he would've cared for Josuke had he been around, and that inspired him to be strong for Shizuka and Josuke. Thus he trained his Hamon and cured his senility for a time at least, though I'm not sure how canon this is it makes the most sense to me
14:30 "he never married" Was a rather common, although old timey euphemism to refer to a gay man, often used to subtly hint at him being a homosexual.
I can't remember off the top of my head but i think it went from like:
"Those two are always hanging out together"
"Those two are inseparable"
"Those love birds are always together"
"Those two are porking non-stop"
30:20 so anyone who wasn't Joseph or Kakyoin, souls just went to presumably rotting corpses in coffins.
Remember how his victims act upon losing? They go into an unwakeable coma-like state. Most people aren't stand users and therefore just thought their loved ones just went into comas never to wake up there's no way they could have kept their body's living and preserved for so long, long enough for jotaro to beat him. Crazy to think about
Given Araki's tendency to write a little bit on the fly, especially before part 7, Bites the dust being a prototype requiem stand makes sense.
I think Joseph is definitely senile. The man was dead for the entire fight between Jotaro and Dio and then had his blood completely drained by Dio halfway through the fight. My man was totally 100% dead with no blood for atleast 10 minutes.
he also lost to d’arby, man was losing his mojo after having josuke
@lukewilsontv Oh yeah thats also true. I'm more saying the intense brain damage he would've taken during the Dio thing would be hard to recover from though. :p
@@mynamewastakin His Hamon kept his body alive, doesnt mean it kept it from being fully functionally.
@@Spyno41 That's what I'm saying. He was only resurrected by Dio's blood. The little Hamon training he did in between then and the events of Part 4/5 were the only reason he was still alive. The minutes without bloodflow to his brain would leave him with brain damage causing senility later in life.
It was actually 4 minutes
in addition to the theory that doppio was the first one, think its implied that he was born with both personalities in the scene where his eye colour changes when hes an infant
Doppio is the one in control at all times and the personality that has king crimson. King crimsons head that has diavolos stand shows that, its doppio with someone in his head. Diavolo takes his stand, diavolo took control even tho he wasnt given it
21:30 adding onto this theory, I like to think that Joseph might have been a little senile, but raising Shizuku managed to reignite an old spark inside of him to bring out his more active side we've come to know him for
I will NEVER get sick of jojo iceberg vids ^_^ This was so fun!! excited for part 2 hehe
I’ve been making that soda joke with my friends ever since we watched Jojo lol
Since the material of the arrows are confirmed to be of alien-origin, so mikitaka’s supposed home planet very well could’ve been the source
That one is actually further down the iceberg🤔
He's an asexual man that isn't looking for love, just the grind (Though I think he's pan too).
omg yes post it
That's the conclusion I came to as well when I was high asf and spent a whole night researching it and reading all of the info we have about him lmao, I'd like to see your essay though to see if there's shit I'd missed
His Appearance
The common comparison for Mikitaka to being an Nordic Alien.
The 'E.T' means
'Extraterrestrial' which means being not from earth (and also a reference to the movie of the same name).

S] Also the added choice of him being in a school uniform could be him trying to blend in more
--------
His Behaviours
When we first get introduced to Miki, was in a crop circle, asleep.
This is already a clear sign that there's something different about him.
But he doesn't…
Plus the added fact that he's sensitive to the sound of sirens on firetrucks; to the point he start gettting hives makes certain things clear.
He's being dead serious about being an alien.
So with all things considered.
With him being serious with his claims, doing very usual things than a normal person would, and the way he talks gives another point to the Alien.
Unless He's really good at joking.

The joseph not being senile could be both true and false, iirc araki confirmed joseph took on hamon training again to be able to be there for shizuka, so in part 4 he could've started to go senile, then shizuka gave him a reality check and he became more and more lucid after taking on hamon, then by part 6 he's becoming senile again

this video deserves much more attention
Fun Fact: When Dio uses Hermit Purple in Part: 3, its actually the stand of Jonathan Joestars body that hes attached too.
09:52 fate is FOURshadowed????
first time seeing one of your videos and i love the style. Your flat humor and editing are a breath of fresh air
I got that same part 4 poster bro it’s fire 🔥 good video
I love this video, deserves more views
To make matters worse for kqbtd is a requim theory, it isn't sentient. Requiem stands can act independently of their users, but btd is still just an automatic stand, notna sentient one
nice video! you have a great talking voice
awesome video!!
13:20 i just saw that u changed ur shirt for mikitaka 😂😂
When it comes to the Doppio being the original one, would it not be obvious that Doppio IS the original (at least based on appearances) since we see him as a baby and the baby clearly has brown eyes which matches Doppios eyes but not Diavolo who has green ones? I know it's a very small thing but still is it not also important to think about their different appearances as well.
Yes. Also, I'd add that the counter-point in the video is nonsensical. DID develops at around 5-6 yo, not 20.
Bro has blessed us 🙏🏽
the theory about doppio makes a lot more sense realistically if you consider doppio to be the original personality, I did an essay about it for psychology once but basically DID can really only be caused by trauma before the age of like 6 years old and I believe being born in a prison and being separated from his mum would have done that.
6:52 u can see also in the scene that killer queen was inside kira and maybe thats why the reqiuem power awakend.
15:38 , There were two personalities from the beginning and it is clearly highlighted in the anime
41:59 woah woah buddy chillax
the joseph one checks out cause we know hamon can slow aging as his main hamon teacher shows in part 2
Did mikitatka not say his planet is 150 million miles away from earth in thus said rohan kishibe?
I think Killer Queen : Bites The Dust is a Requiem Ability, it's consistent with how a requiem ability is acquired (granting the persons wish in a bizarre way), and it's broken the same way a requiem ability is
I don't think it was ever stated that the Requiem arrow grants the users wishes, that's just speculation.
@@lilsquiddle1964it does. Polnareff didn't want Diavollo to get thr arrow, hence SCR's abilities. Giorno needed something to counter Diavollo's "cause erasure", so he got his "effect erasure"
also, the entirety of the stand theme is around the user's will being manifested
My point is that it swaps the souls of organisms with a foreign creature as it's primary ability.
ain't requiem like a granted ability to help whoever used it in their time of desperation/struggles, or to counteract someone who cheats fate
Kira had made a drastic mistake, he killed hayato, so what did he need? the reversal of that, the arrow saw he was in despair, and granted him the ability to rewind time
(also fuck off for the frame at the end)
giorno was outmatched by someone who cheated fate with time erase, so the arrow gave him the ability to nullify changes in time, which basically made king crimson just red punchy man,
another point I'd like to bring up
Pucci's made in heaven ability is probably tied to jotaros time stop ability.
Bro spitting mad faxx
You can easily say fate worked against Pucci in the end with Weather Report's automatic attack in Emporio's room, though you bring up great points regardless
Stands literally come from space, so an alien like mikitaka having "stand abilities" makes sense
39:42 damn Jotaro still looks good even in Oingo Boingo art style, look at the poor Polnareff
Regarding the D'arby theory, I think it's super cool to think that he recognized Jotaro's stand as being the same as The World. It makes sense that he would freak out so much if he even had an ounce of thought that Jotaro could stop time as well, opening the doors to him swapping cards, etc.
To this day, I have no idea when the final episode of part 5 took place
Or what even happened
About a week before Giorno met the gang. Mista ran into a stand user with a Stand that predicted people's death, he attacked it thinking it caused death.
this was bloody great. but anybody else hear a constant, like, tv-static sound whenever luke was talking?
Ahhh this was when I tried a new mic setup, it did not work very well 😭😭
@@lukewilsontv don't sweat it, video was still great
I believe that keicho chose not to have okuyasu kill their father because as it’s explained, even okuyasu doesn’t know where the things he wipes out go. That’s too much trauma to put your little brother through even with how desperate they were.
The thing is, it's explicitly stated that the Nijimura family father is immortal, he just regenerates, neither brother could kill him, that's why Keicho was making stand users
Good RUclips channel, love from mexico
would love to see more!
12:35
bro's really trying to insult everyone
Keicho could not have killed his father because of the regeneration okuyasu couldn’t have done it because he doesn’t know where his stand sends things so he could possibly just live eternally in a void if he were to erase him
Also I don't think Okuyasu want to kill his dad, especially not now after RHCP killed his brother in front of him
Awesome video for one of my favorite series ever
Honestly the Sorbet and Gelato should be in A or S tier, this should be rated mainly by likelihood of being true
Wolfiyeethegranddukecerberus17
Mikitaka being an autistic human implies that overstimulation and meltdowns can send stands out of control (if we are to assume his rash is indeed EWaF)
I think the reason why Speedwagon never married is because marrying someone would mean that all of his assets will be shared by the next of kin, had he married someone the foundation wouldn't be used to the full extent by the Joestars.
My favorite theory i have is that Star platinums power isn't to stop time. It's to mimick the world. He gained the time stop after witnissing dio do it. EoH isn't cannon, but it shows jotaro gaining the world over heaven's ability after fighting him even though dio gained his reality warping powers from an outside source
remember that mikitaka coudln't see crazy diamond
In the movie Mars Attack, sound was what killed aliens... Sirens bugging him, as an alien, checks out
and now they are sorbet and gelato, literally
Speedwagon never married because he couldn’t find a woman worthy of him
I mean functionally bites the dust is a requiem stand
It functions on the same concept its just before the concept is named and finished it's effectively just the concept of requiem stands being beta tested
6:25 any arrow can be used. The bettle arrow is the only one around at this point
Hot take bites the dust is just a requiem ability but the stand it’s self isn’t actually requem
Requiem abilities are way more powerful, so unlikely. Like the two we've seen are absurd, alternate dimension mind swapping and straight up fate nullification aren't the same as rewinding time IMO, I think BTD should be considered as some middle of the road ability, not requiem but not your average stand abilitiy
i think Joseph looking like Jonathan is due to the fact that Joseph is his Grandson, Joestar Genes are really Dominant
4:14 = Leading to the DEATH OF KIRA??
Boingo and Oingo name's aren't Zenyatta and Mondatta, that's just the english localization.
Understandable mistake, but please just use the normal names. It's ANNOYING!!!
But zenyatta mondatta is just as goated of a music reference😭
i think the reasoning for the autistic jotaro theory is reductive at best. when you look at jotaro's behavior, such as difficulty expressing emotions (think how he shows his love for his mom), blowing up when bombarded by women (possible overstimulation which persists even in part 4), he is seen as rude (not understanding or not caring about social conventions), and a smoking habit (this ones more of a reach, but could be seen as stimming via oral fixation). these are all classic symptoms, which can be found similarly to how you found the criteria for ptsd. just what i've seen online about it
