Je me souviens d'en avoir vu écoper 8 à la fois sur le Lac de Sainte-Croix, entre Bauduen et Sainte-Croix.
C'étaient des CL-215 (Cela se passait je pense en 1980, peut-être en 1979) . On les voyait s'élever péniblement au dessus de nos têtes, si bas qu'on pouvait compter les rivets sur la coque. Du grand art, mais dangereux pour les équipages.

En août 2020, j'ai observé non loin de l'aéroport Marseille Provence l'incendie ayant menacé Vitrolles, les effectifs au sol étaient appuyés par 5 Canadair, ils écopaient directement dans l'Etang de Berre sous très fort mistral. Quelle maîtrise ces pilotes !!
Un grand Bravo a nos soldats du feu , vous faites un boulot extraordinaire , merci a vous on vous adore

In Croatia 4mil. pop. we have six of them/canadair, and six air-tractors + russian helicopters for that purpose MI-8 .. and others
They protect our coast, forrests and neighbours;) mostly when the tourist season is at her peak

Years ago I recall watching a PBY doing fire bombing work like this. It was a single plane, but the lake was very close and he just made drop after drop.

@@jbcaycay8035 In California we don't fight fires to put them out really. We just contain them and make sure they stay away from residential areas. Back burns are used to to just burn the fuel ahead of a fire to stop it. Cheap way to make a fire break.
@@jbcaycay8035 it's a different geography so it requires a different strategy and different equipment. There is no point in hastily judging or comparing firefighter techniques. The US guys know what they're doing, just like we do "fast attack" for a good reason, these strategies have been well thought trhough . Congrats and respect to all wild fires firefighters everywhere.
