@@SmarthomeRiggs hey I got the 5th gen setup but am having 2 issues the tap feature isn't working when I tap the echo and I tried changing from 2.4G to 5G network but it keeps saying incorrect WiFi password, when the password is correct also I successfully paired the 3rd gen to the 5th gen but playing music through both of the dots at the sametime isn't always successful

Although the new 5th Gen Dot can connect to 2.4 & & GHz, the 2.4 GHz is more stable over longer distances, (and speed isn't going to be an issue for streaming music or commands). But regarding the tap feature to pause and play music, I find that only worked when playing music from Amazon. It didn't work if I was playing Apple music, (or Spotify casting from my phone). But this could be fixed in an update. I hope that helps, and thanks again for leaving us a comment.

I bought a standard, charcoal, 3rd Gen Dot recently, at a knockdown price and loved it so much that I wanted to get Dot with Clock for my bedroom. I couldn't find a 3rd Gen one anywhere, brand new, so I went for the 5th Gen. But, I sent it back a few days later, largely cos I didn't like the positioning, nor protrusion, of the physical buttons, which, to me, spoil the aesthetics of the sphere.
Luckily, after much searching on eBay, I found a 3rd Gen Dot with Clock that was brand new/boxed.
Sadly (I'm in the UK) it came with a U.S. Plug, so I ended up having to fork out even more, for a white (which goes with the sandstone of the Dot) official Amazon UK Plug.
All of that said, and despite the reduced functionality compared to the 5th Gen, I am more than chuffed.
Given that the regular 3rd Gen, is still, evidently being made and selling like hot cakes, I'm surprised that Amazon have ceased manufacturing the Clock version. Or maybe, they're trying to nudge people in the direction of the 5th Gen!
    Kerr-CHING! £$£$ 😉😉

So sorry to hear that the AWESOMENESS of the 5th gen was lost on you. I have a couple of friends that also prefer the 3rd gen Dots smaller form factor, and the clock is a great option on that model. I checked Amazon.com and although they do not sell that device new, there were 3 used ones listed in sandstone, Since you already have the correct cord for it, that shouldn't be an issue. If you are interested you can check them out here ( www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B07N8RPRF7?ie=UTF8&ref_=pocs_dp_d_u_details_B07N8RPRF7 ). I hope this helps and Thank you for supporting the channel.
