How many times can it be said..... the 80s ruled!
Yes, they did
One of my oldest friends passed away. I remember when she bought this album and played it for me. I can still see her teenaged self smiling and singing the lyrics as we danced around her bedroom. I'm here today for you Deb. I love you and will miss you forever 💘
Hugs
@@pottymouthstarseed6315 thank you so much 🤗
My condolences. My best friend in high school was also named Deb. This hits hard.
@@sandrafaith thank you so much. It's very kind of you. 💜 I hope your best friend Deb is alive and well.

Kinda of like Ringo and Charlie Watts too
You've never seen Charlie Watts from the rolling Stones!?!?. He's calmer than this guy!!.😂😂

SURE MISS OLD MTV!!!
I'd pay for an MTV replay channel. Especially if they had everything they played, and on it's anniversary.
I mean, it was a huge part of music and cultural history.
“Remember when MTV played videos? That was a little joke viola la”
~Ye ‘So Appalled’
But isn't this from 2017 is that even old?
This is when MTV was I'm it's Prime.
They made a Big Time Mistake with the Real World, Yo MTV Raps, Remote Control, Club MTV..etc.
If they would of just kept it going with the videos it would have become an EMPIRE.
Very underrated band. They had lots of good songs.
I remember being a little kid sitting on my father’s lap and watching this on MTV. He passed more than 20 years ago and now I’m a father, watching this with my little girl on my lap. Maybe one day she’ll sit and watch it with her kid, thinking about old dad and the grandpa she never got to meet.
MTV sucks ..killed the little Rock band who didn't;t have a video budget.
Don’t worry, u’ll watch this MV with ur grandson too :)

I remember in 82 this band was considered "freaks". But 40 years later it's still good music
I was one of the freak fans 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I was 12.. 😂 just starting....
why tho…? david bowie, alice cooper, black sabbath, the velvet underground and so many other groups looked crazier than this and they were around long before this. 😂

Great eh.
Typical Malcom McLaren.
Pure genius the jungle drum sound.
I love the distorted Gretsch White Falcon guitar. A very unique sound. I was in College when this song came out in the early mid eighties! Great tune! Still listening to it in 2023! I’m now 63 and have 3 daughters who grew up listening to it with me.
Playing Fast Scales and Slamming ..Amazing Sounds..
Billy from The Cult also played a white Gretch Falcon. same year
This band had a lot of energy and a great sound.
They should they were playing as Adam and the Ant's before becoming Bow wow wow.
@@TheChristoph68
Yep, and this is the baddest cover of this song EVER!!!
Nobody's ever rocked this song the way they did.
@@TheChristoph68 Yep. Adam went to Malcolm Maclaren for advice/help with production/promotion and nothing happened ... except that Maclaren hired all of the band BUT Adam, put a 16-year-old bit of jailbait in front as the singer ... and Adam hired a whole new band that played with him on most of his hits.
Interesting thing - i can't find ANY Bow Wow Wow original tracks o RUclips - they're all later performances. WOnder if RUclips has banned the originals with thei sexualised under-age singer?
We had a lot of energy back then
and Annabella Lwin.
This is a perfect example of keeping a song simple.
Wow. EARLY MTV tune.
This song has one of the best and most under appreciated bass lines in rock history.
I wish there was more live footage of Leigh playing as he is so damn good. So effortless at such a young age.
yes indeedy!! amazing bass work
A great pop song

the drum beat and the great guitar
This was my favorite video of the 80's. This girl drove me absolutely nuts!
Me too brother!❤
It’s January 2022, let’s see how many legends are still listening to this masterpiece ❤️
Homeboy on Guitar is killing it
Sadly Matthew died way too soon in the 1990s
One of, if not the best modern examples of the Bo Diddely style with guitar. Love it!
Huh?
@@gogoyubari366 The beat: 1-2-3 1-2 is known as the Bo Diddley beat because it was made famous by guitarist Bo Diddley on his self-titled song from 1955. It's also used in Buddy Holly's Not Fade Away, and hundreds of other songs.
I knew that I recognized that rift from somewhere else in time and space

Thats coz half the group is from Adam and the Ants who pioneerd that sound some left the Ants and formed Bow wow wow , that sound is both on drums and guitar ..go listen to "dog eat dog" by Adam and the Ants and u'll never unhear it

That drummer is so freaking badass haha I seen a lot of insane metal drummers but this dude could hold his own. I mean, just the attitude. Kinda reminds me of Budgie from Siouxie and the Banshees...something about those new wave drummers they got some kinda occult aura about them
The drummer from Blondie was excellent also.

A TIMELESS CLASSIC FROM BOW WOW WOW! 80'S MUSIC RULES!! the dj
Original by the strangeloves in late 60s
Early 80's were on it. 😎👍🏻
Who is still watching this in 2024 ? 🤔
One day ago
great bubble gum pop song yes, I'm still listening to it.
4 days after your post. Just kinda popped into my head.
We just watched Muscle Beach Party - Candy was a dancer in the film - this song was written for her by the band Strangelove in 1964. 😊
You?
That bass rake is unstoppable.
Love that 50's sounding guitar
Vintage MTV...when there were actual instruments in the Music Videos -- an Electric Guitar, an Electric Bass, and a Drum Set -- WoW! What a Concept!
The drums and guitar go crazy i am literally obsessed! 😍😍😍
Fun fact: when Adam and the Ants got ditched by their lead singer - he went solo as Adam Ant - the remaining players soon got together with Annabelle Lwin to form Bow Wow Wow. Yes, those three instrumentalists were the artists formerly known as Ants.
And very briefly, Bow Wow Wow had a second lead singer: a cross dressing singer/DJ with the stage name of Lieutenant Lush. But he and Annabelle clashed so he left, changed his stage name to Boy George and went on to form his own band, Culture Club.
Oh wow i did not know that and i was a huge fan of both culture club and Adam and the Ants which half the band members are from hence the tribal sounds @pbhoulden8212
I just dedicated this song to a guy I met in La Jolla / San Diego area way back in the mid 1980's. I wish we could have stayed in touch. He set the summer sun on fire.
Yes. 91x. Moonlight Beach. Encinitas. I was about 8yo when this came out. But I remember vividly being at the beach every day with my teenage cousins blasting 91x.
2021, still one of the best opening riffs...

She has it all.
This song has the exuberance of youth written all over it. If I had children (I have none) I would dance all over my living room with them to this at every opportunity.
Get going Guy, make some kids
I did dance when I heard it on the radio at the time and was caught swaying or jigging my shoulders when I heard it on the radio in the warehouse. Then a manager came up to me and jokingly said "No dancing in the warehouse."
I'm glad you're not my father
@@threesocksmorgan1862 With a kid like you I'm just as glad. Last thing I need is a child with three feet.
Bo diddley with his rock and roll song set the standard for many pop songs
This was by The Strangeloves, not Bo Diddley. It was about Candy Johnson, a dancer in the 60s.
@@classicmovietrailers2892 This beat is from bo didley from the 50's
@@brianrocks2087 that's true, i know it's the 'Diddley Beat' but this song is a cover of The Strangeloves version from 1965.

What a blast from the past !!!
This is one of the 80's riffs that flow through my brain all these yrs later....!
I recall first time I saw this video, it was 80s, it was the best era in music and MTV actually showed music videos instead of the BS that they show now, hence Music TV. This was so good, the music, the video and we had fun, we enjoyed the music, we danced to it and we loved this song. I have to admit, I was not a huge fan of theirs, not that I didn't like them, just didn't get a chance to listen to too many of their songs, but then heard some of their music in the movies later and loved every single one of their songs that I heard. If anyone can recommend other songs by them, I would love to hear all of them if possible. Great music is truly timeless and ageless. Brings back some amazing memories of having fun and enjoying life.

The ultimate jungle sound. Perfect sparse arrangement, you could hear any single second of it and recognise it instantly.
Her band was the original Ants, and boy can you hear it ib the drums.
