I distinctly remember the cowboy hat wearing man being a black guy with an afro and mutton chops when I watched this brickfilm back in the late 90s. Must be a Mandela effect…
This is genuinely exceptional, everything anyone could ask for from a brickfilm! It’s very cinematic, poignant, has very very well integrated VFX, has humour and the name Men of Blacktron is incredibly badass
Soooooo bro just casually be dropping bangers. Seriously tho this is an underrated gem, keep up the great work. You should totally do a tutorial on cinematography or how you get your style cause it’s just that fricking good.
Thank you very much! I'm dreading finishing a lighting tutorial I've been working on at the moment, so hopefully that will come at some point to give some insight.
This was somehow even better than I expected it to be. The small intricate details of the elevator numbers and Brick D's chain moving. Excellent work Stanley!
Adored this stop motion and couldn’t deny the pulp fiction vibes, then when brick daddy started doing his speech it instantly clicked. This is by far one of my favourite stop motions!
Absolutely beautiful work here. The pulp 70s aesthetic works great here. Great dialogue as well and those sets… damn perfection. Loved the opening as well! Great job my friend!
this is incredible!! this just appeared in my recommended, exactly the type of lego brickfilm I've been looking for, I'll have to binge your whole channel :D If you could post a BTS, or a tutorial of sorts, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you; glad you liked it! I'm working on a lighting tutorial that I plan to upload at some point in the future and I have posted some BTS photos in the Bricks in Motion Discord in case you're in there 👍
This was absolutely beautiful to watch, reminds me a lot of the cleaners, another really well put together stop motion video. Great work man, keep it up!!
Perhaps my most anticipated brickfilm after seeing some stills you posted and holy moly did it not disappoint! It's just brimming with style and flair and the writing just feels so authentic for this type of story. Wonderful!
I absolutely love the atmosphere you’ve created here. The anthropomorphic lens works wonders in creating a “dirtied” and overexposed look for the whole film. 2:02 was easily my favorite shot, it just oozes a neo-noir aesthetic straight out of a Micheal Mann film. Wonderful work
Great stuff. Really neat incorporation of multiple of the 90s space themes. Also the production quality is top notch per usual, but one thing that impressed me was the credits. Very good attention to maintaining a consistent feel throughout.
@@Jaymationstudios Thank you very much! Most of my skies are in-camera screen composites using a large monitor. I will go into detail about this if I ever manage to finish the lighting tutorial I'm currently working on, hehe
Yup! Shooting a brickfilm with an anamorphic lens setup has been a long time goal of mine. I've shared the setup in the BiM thread if you're interested!
Do you mean the visual quality? If so, here are my general settings; I shoot in RAW, work in a UHD timeline (3840x2160 or in this case 3840x1634) and render in H264 (High Profile / 5,2 Level) with 50 MBit/s (VBR single pass)

Thanks! I worked on this for about 6 months, with work on my entry for BRAWL 2024 squeezed in there somewhere.
Absolute cinema👍🔥🍻
Cool as hell.
the sad problem of the modern youtube algorithm. Anyway, this was super cool!
Thank you!
Can you guys pls do a tutorial on how you get that lighting
I have a script for a lighting tutorial written down; I plan on recording and releasing it soon.
Really cool with awesome visuals, but I think the heads of the minifigures are too blurry. But good work.
How did you get this quality as well
Do you mean the visual quality? If so, here are my general settings;
