That's an awesome little M! My Grandfather had one almost identical to it. I noticed when yours starts off, it makes that strong vibrating noise usually indicating it needs a throw-out bearing or clutch kit. They're not hard to fix. : ) Oh, the wonderful memories it beings back to hear it start and run! Thanks for posting!
It's definitely a fun little tractor. In glad we were able to rescue it from the scrap yard. And yes, there is some clutch chatter. When we reassembled the tractor we reused the clutch disc, pressure plate, and throw out bearing. We didn't resurface the flywheel either. They still had some life left in them. It definitely would have been easier to address the issue back then... But where's the fun in that! 😉
Love this little tractor, my dad has one, but it needs a new carburetor i believe. I hope we can get him back to life someday. We nicknamed him "Put-Put" i'm pretty sure that many people do.
Nice video. We have used a very similar 2-row planter for field corn for they last two seasons. And we have the same problem--are the seeds dropping? Not easy to see, they drop fast and get covered quick. This season we concluded it was NOT dropping like it should so we went over the same rows again. After sprouting...we now have 2x corn plants!
Yeah, I was unsure how evenly these seeds were dropping, but now that the crop is growing, you can see it did a really good job. Nice evenly spaced plants.
I can get some more photos of the hitch. Or I can make a video on it. I think I might already have one video on my channel briefly talking about it, but it might not have enough detail for someone who wanted to duplicate it. Those arms are from a Ford 8n. We bought them online for about $25 each, I think. The hitch is from a model A.
@@jonelsonster I agree except I bought the 3 point hitch for my MT in thenearly 90 s and the three point hitch isn’t nearly as nice and easy to use as the one I put on my B four or five years ago. I left the ‘47’ A and ‘40’ H stock, no 3 point but I use the MT, B, and 1250 to bush hog so need the three point hitch.

I just love your videos
M looks good, doing work. I have a 40 that's similar. In the middle of resto. Love em!
I think the 40 and the M are essentially the same.

A good tune on the carburetor is critical for these little tractors to run. I'll have to post a video of rebuilding a carb for an M/40/420/430.
We had all the oridinal equipment for ours, but never used any of it because it had a belly mower. Dad just scraped it all. Sad

You have anymore pictures of the 3 point setup? What arw the arms of off?

Love that tractor, any idea where to find rims like you have?? Trying to replace some on mine.
Thanks! I think those rims are just the standard rims that came on an M. I think the part number is AM3150T.
Several years ago l tried to order new back rims for M. dealer said NLA, but crossed the number to a backhoe it was the same rim and still available.
Do you still need rims?
Nice tractor. I put a three point hitch on my MT
while adding a 3 point hitch may not be original, it is probably the best upgrade you can add to an M.
