- So the EP3 build is underway.
We find a Type R Throttle Body
We remove the engine and get the new engine prepped to go in.
George pulls the parts to do the 5 Lug swap from the junk yard
We meet owner and he brings the wheels for the car and he brings new Rotors and Pads

George and new owner (Jeff)...both men after my own heart! I actually hated the EP3 when they 1st hit the streets. I picked up my current Si project after finding it through an EP3 forum board. I've had my eye on an 06-08 TSX K24A2 w/an RSX TYPE-S 6 speed trans for those lengthy trips to Grandma's house!
Please keep up the awesome and informative content as always. All three of you (Esther, George, John) are great people, and seem like you would be a blast to be around.

I always have a jack on the brake rotor putting tension on the spindle while tapping the lower control arm. Works like a charm.
Awesome work, guys. That EP3 looks almost as nice as those sandwiches. Esther is the greatest!😊 I love these builds and the humor (or humour) is top-notch. Loved the short-throw straw mod and those engine sounds at the end were terrific!😂👌

Be interesting to see a how too on the wiring that's needs to be changed on the k20 harness. I am doing the k24 swap in a EM2 using a k20 harness myself and having a few struggles with it
I love how you guys work as a 2 man team it's completely different from my experience in the trade at mostly dealerships which is why I quit
If you got an engine, I can sure use one, my kid overheated mine to death.

I'd love to buy the K20a3 and also the 4 lug front knuckles/spindles, but I don't think it would probably be worth it to ship it all from Florida to Minnesota?

im currently going to swap a k24a on my ep3.. what did you do for the headers since people say the front sway bar gets in the way.? and do the new motor mounts have to be for the Ep3 or tsx?
What intermediate shaft did you use for the k24 block ?
Can install k24a2 with stock ecu????
Jeff! if you happen to read this in 2021 I'm curious if you have done anything else to the EP3? I bugged the hell out of the guys to get the stock exhaust from your EP3 ( thanks for the hook up BTW) I think I'm finally going to do the K24 swap in mine if LHT can fit me in sometime soon.

@@st3v3nb915 I get that, but it seems like there is more to gain with the 6 speed, those transmissions cant take alot of power stock
@@markpowers8125 no they cant .. k series trans are glass ... but the word is that the 5spd is stouter than the 6spd
I wish they went more in depth on what they switched over from motor to motor.
K24 swap in EP3 with Ep3 5 speed trans, which clutch and flywheel to buy? k24 clutch and flywheel or EP3 clutch and flywheel?
For the rear you could of just got new hub bearings. No need for the whole knuckle from the rsx in the back. Keep up the good work
BubblesQC ehhhh we didn’t know that until we found out on camera. A reason we shared our findings as I’m sure others would like to know too.
@@LHTPerformance it saves alot of trouble especially for us guys in the rust belt. Bolts going through bushing can be hard to remove.

Will a 5 lug set up from a tsx work for a ep3 as well? I have a ep3 and a tsx so im trying to save money and use what i have as well
So what intake manifold was on that K24A2? Correct me if I'm wrong but that does look like the PRC Type R intake manifold or the type S intake manifold?
What was the brand of rotors and pads? Didnt catch it in the vid if you said it
im planning to do this swap in my ep3, i read the forums and it said to swap the crank sensor from the ep3 to the k24 is that true? Also what thermostat and water pump did you use? thanks

whats the cost to swap a k24 into a ep3?
Does anyone know if there is a bushing for the 8th gen si steering racks. I have a gem but the rack has play on the passenger side. I guess it’s common.

Yes. We kept the 5 speed.

You're supposed to hit the knuckle not the lower control arm
Matthew Hutchins False. Shock the taper loose by hitting the control arm. Hit the hub/knuckle and you’ll trash the ball joint.
Why you guys dont use a 6sp transmission on that k24 ?

Currently going thru this stage my ep3 has a k24 swap doesn’t pass 3k rpm I have every sensor on the motor new stock ep3 computer any tips???

Adnan EP3 We put the rev limiter at 7600rpm. It doesn’t make any power over that anyway
is that an ep2 converted to type r engine since it has 4 lug
no the US 2002 2003 ep3 comes 4 lug. 2004 2005 they swapped to RSX base 5 lug setup.
I can only afford the Motegi tracklite for my civic
5 speed or 6 speed ?
