Hey Jenny! Even though this video has been out for a good four years now, it’s still super useful. I am making this origami as a ‘wrapping paper’ for some jewellery I am giving my sister for her birthday and the book I’m using isn’t describing how to do it even close to how clearly you are. Thanks!
Hi Ahne, I'm so glad to hear that you found it helpful even though it's such an old video. Wishing your sister a happy birthday - so sweet of you to make this for her. 😊
I have one of these made out of leather, a coin purse, but I've had it for so long, it's falling apart. I really love the design, and I've been looking and looking, trying to find a clear explanation of how it's done. Your instructions are, by far, the most clear that I have been able to find on the internet! Well done! Now I just have to find the right kind of material to make it sturdy enough for coins. I was thinking maybe duct tape cloth.... Wish me luck. :)
Hi Cynthia! Thanks for sharing with me. :-) That coin purse must've been so gorgeous in leather! Wishing you luck. How did it turn out with the duct tape? I wonder if you can upcycle an old leather bag or a coat.
@@OrigamiTree When I was a kid, (long ago) I always used to see those spriral leather coin purses in suitcase stores. Yes, they were pretty! It actually turned out pretty good with duct tape! I had to smash it with clothes pins and a heavy book, but it turned out pretty good. I have tried to keep my eyes open for a nice piece of used leather, but I haven't found one. I've looked at thrift shops for old coats and old purses, but they never have real leather. I don't want to buy any new leather, because I don't want to hurt any cows.
This design has been driving me mad for days, I just couldn't follow the instructions in the book. Thank you for making such a clear video, I have finally conquered the Tato!😁
Jenny W. Chan - Origami Tree I'll definitely give that a try thank you! I'd like to learn how to make a goat. I've seen some nice photographs online but no instructions.
Jenny W. Chan - Origami Tree have you ever made a 'Winged Sonobe'? I've made the units but cannot for the life of me figure out how they go together! 😁
FERNANDA K ARAGON Mother's Day in the USA is Sunday, May 10th. This tutorial is a little early, but I figured it'll give people lots of time to hand-make something special for their mom. Stay tuned for more Mother's Day crafts this month! :)
Excellent instructions!
