What is Concealed Carry Revolver? | Smith & Wesson®
#GUNSMARTS #SmithAndWesson #GunSafety
This guy actually knows what he’s talking about good one Smith & Wesson
He's one of the best shooters in the world.
It's almost like this is one of the best shooters to grace the sport and holds multiple records...oh wait yeah this is Jerry Miculek.
lmfao
My EDC is the no-lock 340PD w/one speedstrip. I survived three OIS during my career and Jerry’s advise is spot on. The ONLY rule in a fight is to win!
Thank you for your courage brother.
This is good advice folks. I’m a “not so old cop”, but I have some miles under my boots. I was trained in semi autos. But my favorite off duty is a 642 Airweight with the full size crimson trace grips. I carry 2 speed strips, and carry Speer GD 38+P. I don’t feel under gunned because I’m not out looking for trouble.
Imagine trying to rob jerry and he puts 5 rounds through you before you can even pull the trigger😂
Only one would do any damage. All the rest would pass through the same hole. Lol
Imagine trying to rob Jerry, and you hear the *beep*, and faint.
Jokes aside, Mas told a story of one guy using wd40 to clean his revolver without pulling the ammo, and ended up deactivating his primers. One day, he got jumped by a knife-wielding junkie, pulled on him, and the gun went "click". The assailant fainted. Guess that's one way to get a one shot stop (without actually firing a shot).
lord have mercy with the guy that tries to rob the wrong elderly man
I have the 340. It tore my skin when I use 357 mag. So I carry 38+P. This revolver is lighter than my air weight. Fantastic gun. Great vid.
As an older small framed man I've found that the aluminum alloy framed J frames are just too uncomfortable to shoot. And putting larger rubber grips on these guns negates one of their primary advantages, concealment. What to do? Enter the S&W model 36 Classic, the 19.5 ounce carbon steel frame and comfortable but concealable wooden grips are just the ticket. The extra weight helps to tame recoil and absorb the shock produced when firing this excellent little weapon. This is now my constant companion. 👍
Jerry you are definitely the greatest person ever love my smith and Wesson 637 snubby definitely gets the job done
To me, the best "compromise" is a .327 Federal Magnum so I wish Smith would make current J-frames in it. You lose less power in a snub over a longer barrel than a .357 Mag, you have more power than a .38 Special with less recoil than a .357 Mag all while having 6 shots not 5. An unexperienced shooter can slap all 6 on target from 7 yards easy while even .38 Special can be a challenge to do that.
Smith needs to come up with 6 shot revolver in 38/357 that weights under 28 ounces or to offer j frame in 32 caliber. It's ridiculous that lightest 6 shot 357 they have is almost 34 ounces. I will always prefer Smith and Wesson but they have to improve their ccw revolver portfolio. If Colt, Kimberly, RIA, Taurus and other can make light and easy to conceal 6 shot revolver there is no reason why Smith and Wesson can't.
Trouble is finding ammo for that. Even when you find ammo for 327 it's more expensive than 38 special. Even if you find smaller 32 long. Just get the kimber k6. 6 shots of 38/357 still in a j-frame.
@@emiramick5305 Yeah it would be great if s&w did that. I have the kimber dasa revolver. It's pricey but its awesome.
I wish they made a six shot .38 J Frame in FDE.
Didn't S&W stop making the model for the .327 F.Mag. ?
You can never go wrong with a ole J frame. I love my J frame pistols, i enjoy carrying my old school S&W Mod36 no dash as well my S&W 642 🇺🇸
Jerry is awesome totally agree with his view especially about the barrel being ported..
I prefer a full weight snub, like the 640. let the weight of it help with recoil
J frame model 649 is my fav
It would be nice to see Jerry shoot a J Frame!
Smith Wesson 😍
I have the exact model of 686+ in the intro. Love that revolver. :)
Lol, I see why there's an ammo shortage. 😁
S&W revolvers are the BEST! Have many K-frames (and a few L)...some older some newer, but no J-frames...yet. Never needed or wanted to compromise on shootability or give up #6. The 242 was great for 7 rounds of 38, but a short lived niche concept.
It took me years to get over the frame-integral lock, but good to go now. It's here to stay and some new models are too awesome to pass up!
The "Night Guard" line was AWESOME and packed more firepower into less than 30 ozs. Still, love the new models 19 Carry Comp and 66! This is a good weight at about the same as a Browning Hi-Power.
I wonder what the steel 8-shot 627PC would feel like with a titanium cylinder (33 ounces maybe). 25 to 30 ounces is a more comfortable EDC range (with a good holster and belt)...and with shootability and capacity in mind.
A 3" barrel is an upper limit of concealed carry, but the ballistics are great. 2.5" barrels are good. 2" barrels are marginal but quick to draw and easy to pack away.
K-frame is upper limit for me IWB, but a K or L carry extremely well OWB behind strongside hip in a high ride leather pancake holster with a thumb break (requires exposed hammer spur...but no need to cover the trigger).
Great presentation, good information. Thank you sir.
"Call an ambulance!"
"But not for me!"
I'm a big enough guy that I can conceal a K frame sized revolver. I used to conceal my 4 inch Ruger Security Six in a nice pancake style leather holster with 3 speed loaders in my pocket all the time when I was back up in Colorado. I think I can still do it here in Southern Nevada I just have to make some adjustments to my wardrobe. But the J frame is a hell of a fine revolver, I would love to get an old Chief's Special and conceal that as a backup gun.
My wife has the bodyguard38 plus the 642 airweight both are concealable thev642 is my favorite of the 2
Gods speed jerry and smith n Wesson 💯👍
simple and effective
Smith and Wesson, the finest revolvers in the world
They're excellent revolvers, but they're not even the finest American revolvers.
Good information. Thank you sir.
Second shot control is only important if first shot control is somewhat lacking.
I love my 637
The 637's are great carry guns. My local shop was out of them but had a used 437-2 that I picked up for a good price. I carry it with newly installed Hogue Monogrips and Buffalo Bore Standard Pressure .38 Special 158 grain LSWCHPs.
My EDC is a S&W 351C, not unlike what shown here but in 22WMR which is better-than-a-mouse-pistol category round and I too use a pocket holster. I'm going to have to look into that laser business.
Most enjoyable video, thank you.
I love my442
Good info, but no mention of other J frames at all? Not to mention K & L frames. There are a few alloy J frames. A steel J frame is not overly heavy, and helps a lot. The newer Model 60's, esp the 3", have a lot going for them. S&W needs to get off the dime and make an alloy K frame again. The Nightguard series was a great idea. The 315 would be the way to go there. Something like 22 oz, and a full 6 shots. Bring it back, or something similar. To keep the cost down, omit night sights or a fancy finish. Just good anodized alloy and corrosion resistant blackened steel. Maybe a non-tritium big fmdot front sight. Maybe an L frame too (44 Soecial, anyone?). No N frames though. They are light in alloy, but still bulky.
Night sites are critical for older shooters. Night sites should be a readily available option.
Awesome
So you can send in any S&w wheel gun to s&w and get it ported ????
Love my 686 3in! I now look forward to the fall/winter now 🙃
I carry a 4" 686 plus in a desantis pancake holster almost year around it hides it pretty well..that gun makes me look like a better shot than I am
Great vid ty
Chiappa Rhino has my vote.
Great Job on your Video 🙂☕
Not sure how a ported barrel will stand up in court after a defensive shooting.
Updated…Personally, I run a S&W 640 Pro at home and a Sig P320sc when outdoors.
Good defensive shootings don't end up in court. You likely won't even be arrested.
357 magnum from a snub nose is like a full size 5 inch semi auto in knock down power.
My m&p bodyguard keeps me safe
The 357 is an awesome round, no question. But I'm not a fan of using that round in these small framed, lightweight concealed carry revolvers. With 357 you need a solid steel framed gun with some weight and size to be reasonable to shoot with. And some barrel length to justify it. With these sub 2" barrel snubbies you are much better off with 38 special or 38 +P. Those rounds are good enough for the job and are much easier to control for accuracy and follow up shots. You only get 5 shots, so you really don't want to miss any, right? Believe me, 5 rounds of 38 +P and 5 more in a speed loader and you are well protected. Save the 357 for the mid size K frame steel guns, where it belongs.
I always thought that revolvers were naturally "ported" because of the cylinder gap.
Wheel guns are real guns!
Ha, they laughed at me for putting a Delta Pro on my 6" 586.
do you know alpha proj 3541s stainless 357magnum construction czech republic opinion thanks in advance
do you know revolver alpha proj construction czech republic opinions thanks
I am not limited to revolver size for carry, since I always Open Carry.
Open carry, w/o a ccw permit, is legal where I live. The problem is it brings too much unwanted attention b/c it’s still unique here.
@@oldcop18 What state are you speaking of?
@@oldcop18 Tennessee just passed the open carry no permit needed as it should be.
@Ean E Open Carry is honest carry.
@@opencarry3860 You're talking gibberish. Who gives a shit if it's on your hip or in your pocket. Nothing "dishonest" about CC at all.
The only real time cheating is the best way to win is in a gun fight. Great advice, hope I never have to use it.
Wish Smith and Wesson would bring back the 327 magnum.
What does this guy know? Just joking I have a lot if revolver content on my channel and also Real Ballistics data not clear gel big difference
😍😍😍😍😍
But, mi 500
This guy knows very little about revolvers. I hate amateurs trying to sound like pros. Jeeze.
I carry the 637 loaded with Gold Dots, with the Crimson Trace laser grip, in a Super Fly holster, with a speed loaders in the coin pocket of my jeans. I decided on a revolver after all the .380 pocket pistols I had developed issues.
