The new version just can't compare to this one! The new one is a fun version but damn all the songs from "Hey, I'm Just Like You" are great but I really love the older versions.

The new version of this song is my favorite Tegan and Sara song, one of my favorite and most relatable songs I’ve ever heard in my 39 years
I don’t know why I’ve never listened to the demo before but it’s incredible, amazing how much of the song especially the lyrics are almost totally the same

I wonder why Tegan and Sara are so self-deprecating about these early recordings. They're really special in their own simplicity. It's the kind of thing you'd listen to, laying in your bedroom as a teen, head shaved, and dreaming about your future.

well i read somewhere that tegan sings the lead in "hello" but i'm not sure who does in this song. i might be completely wrong, but somehow the lyrics of this one seem to lean a little more towards sara's writing style. but then again this was ages ago...
