    Two B1Bs flew at low level over our house north of Columbus Ohio last year. I thought we were being nuked! It felt as if a wall of sound was plowing through the neighborhood! They both went to afterburners and puff! they were gone! They were a beautiful sight!

    Hope they are going to fly over my country again, last time they flew directly over my head at 27k feet but it was cloudy, but I could still hear those mighty engines.

      I live in Las Vegas, and I'm in the flight path of Nellis AFB, and these are the loudest planes that go over. These are my favorite. They rattle the windows and you can hear them for long time. Such a sexy plane!

    The Rockwell B-1 is a very beautiful bomber, and to this day there are machines that can be compared with.

      They aint getting this babe and it is foolish of them to replace it with something that is not as fast and the US Air Force should come to their senses and consider holding on to this babe as long as they can

    When you see them from the underside the wings look really small compared to the long large body. Is there a specific reason for this ? Maybe to cut drag at supersonic speeds ?

    Things are about to get real, this aircraft was due to be retired. Built for nuclear weapons. Not good when it's on training missions.

    That crash tender with the gauges on the side is pretty cool, I presume that one gauge is water and the other is foam. Means everybody from the tower to other crews can see how close they are to running out when dousing a plane.

    • @CobraEmergency
      @CobraEmergency  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah I notice that often when seeing the crash rigs. It's a very simple yet effective feature. Common across many airports now.

    Does anybody know how long these are in the UK for? Also how frequently do they fly in and out of Fairford? Thanks

    • @CobraEmergency
      @CobraEmergency  7 месяцев назад +2

      It's all educated guess unless the US Air Force announces something. Most deployments are 1 month give or take. They usually fly every other day, so if they flew yesterday, they probably wont fly today. I recommend keeping an eye on Facebook groups for Fairford, aviation accounts on Twitter if you have them.
      Hope that helps give you an idea!

    Kinda sad that these B-1s are in borrowed time. As soon as the B-21 Raiders are ready. No more Big Bad Bones. I really thought that B-1X concept would have been adopted by the Air Force. As F-35s and AWACS would just direct salvos of missiles from B-1X aircraft. Even though they’re will retiring soon, still one of the best looking bombers ever built.

      Yeah it’s a common minor issue when they’re lighting the reheats. They need all 4 lit before they set take off thrust. They were struggling to light one on the near side.

    Talked with a pilot recently and asked about supersonic missles. He said when they perfect them he has room for them. This guy was very cool 😎! I suspect they are on board but a smart aiman like this pilot will play poker.

      It really seemed to stick this time before jumping forward, but then I did have to shoot from an awkward position this time. I have noticed while the Optical Image Stabilization is great on this camera, it almost feels as if it 'locks' the image in.

    When are we finally going to get our money's worth out of these things? I mean it's a great capability hardly ever used. It would be great weapon to expel China from the Islands belonging to the Philippines and others in the SCS. Not to mention a deterrent for Taiwan. or of course Natanz reactors.
