Springfield Civic Center, Springfield MA 1983.. I was 13 yrs old and I still have the ticket stub.. Born Again tour.. I still remember the blinding cross of lights!! And I'm 54 now. Lol awesome!! 🤘
My FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME!! I'm 62yrs old and back in 1983 or 84 I saw them at the Spectrum in Philly and they were Phenomenal! And when they came out for the Encore and started playing "Smoke on the Water "the place went mental. Long live BLACK SABBATH ❤✌️
I love this album. I was 14 in 83 when it came out, I still have the vinyl that I bought then, it is greatly worn out, because I had played that dang thing to death! Of all the criticism that this BEAUTIFUL album has received, most people do not realize the great impact and influence that it played in metal at that time. They broke the mold, they created a new sound (muffled as many may say) but unique and special, and EVERY new and-up-and-coming Death, Black and Speed band took inspiration from this album, from Celtic Frost, to Venom, Sanctuary, Helloween, Running Wild, Kreator, Savatage, Possessed, and so on, they very much followed down the same steps, the same sound, although a bit more aggressive and so on, but none of that GREAT music would have emerged if Sabbath hadn't had the balls to record this album. Without this album , we would have Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and all of the classic forms of Heavy Metal, or Glam Rock.
I loved Ian as a Black Sabbath vocalist. I'm glad I watched this because everything I read made it sound like Ian hated the whole experience and hated the album.
Born Again is personally one of my favorite albums by Black Sabbath, sure the songs were weird AF but smoke a fatty and listen to it... it'll blow your mind!

The only thing that held back this album was the original production of the album. I loved it. Still listen to songs from this album from time to time.
I had known of Sabbath mainly War Pigs and Iron Man, but never really got into their music. But, this was the album that got me into Sabbath. And it’s my favorite one to this day.

I love Born again!! I played in a Sabbath tribute called Sister Sabbath, my friend Connie was the singer. She was dressed as an evil nun. When I joined the band, we played Zero the hero, off Born again. Fun stuff......
I always thought of it as a classic. Older brother would CRANK it on the stereo, so scary the way they move through eerie quiet bits and make you wait a moment before those huge ultra-primo classic Sabbath riffs come crashing down, heavier and spookier than ever. Now add in Gillan’s astonishing vocals, it’s a home run imo. Also their sessions disturbed a nearby-quartered priest and then Gillan in his signature style, wrote quite a literal set of lyrics “Disturbing the Priest.” How does one beat that? This stuff used to really captivate me as a young kid. I want to add that I am a Christian and not any kind of satanist or person that would want to glorify anything like that. I just think heavy riffs and dark music sound lovely, and sometimes reflect quite accurately of the kind of world we live in.
Ian sings the song Black Sabbath incredibly well. Better than Ozzy and Ronnie ever did. He sounds so evil and sinister. In my opinion, Born Again was Ian's best work. He shrieked his ass off!
Not better than Ozzy. Not even close and I love Ian Deep Purple as Much as Ozzy Sabbath. Probably Ozzy could not have sounded as good as Ian on Born Again but to rather have Ian on early Sabbath I cant even entertain that! Best work of Ian? Fireball is up there w Born Again.

@@tylerthompson1842no, Joe Elliott says they threw Born Again out the window on tour. Didn’t you even watch this thing? Born Again IS better than any Def Leppard album.
I have recently gotten in the habit of having conversations with ChatGPT. It has an amazing talent for literary analysis, so I fed the lyrics from Born Again into it, asking what the songs are about. I discovered some really amazing things. I made additional connections that the AI did not make, which even further enhanced my appreciation of the lyrics. I didn't even like the lyrics when I first heard them. Now I know they're a brilliant commentary about shifting cultural values of the early 80s. It was the decline of hippy idealism and the rise of Patrick Bateman and the Satanic Panic. Ian Gillen was there to tell us rocker types what to watch out for, he was just a bit cryptic about it.
Joe Elliott is best as a Def Leppard vocalist especially on Hysteria but Ian Gillian is best as both Black Sabbath Born Again and Deep Purple vocalist.
In my opinion Born Again is a phenomenal album . Songs like Disturbing the priest, zero the hero and born again are immortal.

@@tylerthompson1842no, Joe Elliott says they threw Born Again out the window on tour. Didn’t you even watch this thing? Born Again IS better than any Def Leppard album.
Why the hell would anyone ask that guy‘s opinion on music, let alone born again?!🤦♂️
Please give it the super deluxe treatment!
Ian written most of those songs about what happened during the recording of the album and his wife.
Mr. Geoffrey James Nicholls😢
❤🤘❤⚡️❤️
Joe Elliott is best as a Def Leppard vocalist especially on Hysteria but Ian Gillian is best as both Black Sabbath Born Again and Deep Purple vocalist.
