P. Malzeno: I am a knight of peace! I shall not let anything stop my royal duties! One Qurio affliction later... Afflicted P. Malzeno: *IT'S MORBIN TIME!!!*
for some clarity on Primordial Malzeno, this is what all Malzeno naturally look like the "normal" Malzeno you fight in Sunbreaks main story are the varients. So Primordial Malzeno is not a Mal thats overcome the affliction rather it's one that hasn't been infected yet. One last thing about Primordial Malzeno is that he was a protector of the kingdom of Elgado before being taken over by the Qurios and killing everyone 50 years ago so that's why the ending is the way it is. Great video as always!
Yeah, Primordial Malzeno felt like a story boss. Dificult but manageable with endgame gear. But when he starts to go nuts teleporting all over the place and ultra comboing you it was a really fun fight.
I'm actually glad we didn't canonically kill Primordial. It's a protector, and an enemy of the Qurio. To kill it would make no logical sense at all. It's like when Ruiner killed Shara; Nergigante was simply trying to keep balance in the ecosystem and what were the reactions of the characters? "LeTs Go KiLl It GuYs!" Dumb as hell lmao
Fair lol. I used to be kinda the same way; I didn't really care about the lore and ecology of the monsters and only looked forward to seeing who's skin I could wear next. But over time that's changed and learning about these things have made me appreciate the monsters for what they're worth more.
@AXIDIUS a lot of westerners tend not to, which is why this game is so awesome imo. You've got tons of lore content for us super nerds, meanwhile the game is literally jump in and fight style so you don't have to worry about missing lore much. It's not imperative to know, as long as you have fun. Happy hunting!
it's like the team responsible for the portable games said "see that? that's where they went wrong. let's fix that in it" and fix it they motherf@c#1ng did! for the first time, we're "friends" with a monster - a dragon, no less.
This monster is literally the hardest monster released so far including risen for me, I've beaten every monster so far first try except primordial which took me 4 tries to beat solo. I literally decided to make a build specifically to beat this monster which again is something I've NEVER had to do until now. A great fight, very fun and challenging.
"At least it's not a 360" The 180 is still a pain to deal with. (This coming from someone who already defeated it) Ring of fire and "29 combo" AND NEVERENDING CHASE TILL DEATH in bloodlust form: Well look who we got here... Hazard Primordial: Little do they know...(50 combos and probably no rest)
Axidius, I have unfortunate news for you and the gang: Primordial Malzeno becomes full-on immune to all endemic life in his final phase. I got to see his 'now you die' mode and uh.... I was swearing like an enraged sailor, I spent a good chunk of his last phase screaming and dodging. Oh, and he follows you across the map, will go out of his way to kill you right after you walk back into the zone after you cart.
My only gripe with hazard so far (been busy since i tried it once the other night) was that iirc his theme wasnt there, just the forlorn theme, which is super lame
There's still more content to get through, but after the sunbreak expansion so far id say it's pretty good. Besides the long anomaly grind, it's comparable to world in terms of actual content. Gameplay wise it's more arcade-y than other MH games, which makes devs push monster speed and attacks up. I still prefer world+iceborne over this, but overall rise+sunbreak is solid.
At least you have friends to play with, its more fun when you cart together than do it alone like me. I attempt this quest 6 times and he is a pain. Im stuck on this part of the game.
It’s honestly so frustrating how poorly balanced multiplayer is in sunbreak. Night and day difference solo vs with group when you can just constantly melt him down and stagger him. Imo it’s extremely challenging solo.
I can't tell if them not understanding the ending was them playing it up or if they really didn't get it? I hope the former, since the story arc is incredibly easy to understand, literally just declared to you, and very short. Like, you learn that Malzeno isn't the main threat even in the base version of Sunbreak, since the Qurio are the scourge and Gaismagorm is the true proliferation of them. This just pairs with early information that the Malzeno from years ago in the Citadel looked different, uninfected by the Qurio. The "normal" Malzeno are technically Risen, and Primordial is a regular Malzeno, which tries to keep the influence of Gaismagorm and the Qurio at bay since they will ruin the entire ecosystem. The fact that the Qurio are the real enemy isn't a new plot point for this update, it's been the case since base Sunbreak, pretty explicitly so. I can see people not caring to pay attention though, since no M.H. story is even so far as to call good, or presented in an engaging way. They're all pretty full of really dumb tropes and twists and reveals, and bland as all get out. They just get away with it because, well, who cares about the story of a M.H. game? The basis is that you're out killing super-powered animals that endanger people. Not much you can do in that narrative space, and the game-play is clearly the main focus by miles. Still much better than Alatreon and Fatalis additions to the story in Iceborne, since they just Deus Ex Machina out of nowhere with zero reason to be there. Fatalis isn't even on the same continent as you, you have to travel back to the old world for this one thing, one time at the end, that was never being built up to, even though the old world already has its fair share of insanely potent hunters (statistically speaking, probably way better ones and way more of your caliber as well, just considering the numbers game of the old established continent versus a new place with a small rag-tag group). Though, Alatreon and Fatalis weren't planned to be there, Safi was supposed to be the end and Oroshi Kirin and Rusted Kushala were supposed to come before it, given the information we have from data-mines and what Capcom themselves have said about bringing the two Black Dragons in super late after fan demand from promotional material they made for the series in general. So, yeah, would've made a lot more sense to have Safi be the final thing, from a story arc perspective.
Primordial Malzeno is simply poorly tuned and not fun. Spending most of the fight dodging around is not fun. Having to spam farcasters is not fun. Having to fight the camera is not fun. There is no satisfaction to beating this monster. There is only relief that you never have to fight him again once you have the pieces you need.
P. Malzeno: I am a knight of peace! I shall not let anything stop my royal duties!
One Qurio affliction later...
Afflicted P. Malzeno: *IT'S MORBIN TIME!!!*
Fun fact: Primordial malzeno has the largest combo of the entire franchise clocking in at 14 hits before it rests.
This explains a lot
Holy crap
How is that possible? Search your feelings and you will know it to be true...
thats why i got carted 14 times too 😂
I almost carted to him many times because of that. As if Risen Shagaru wasn't unfair enough..

I love how the hazard version of this quest was released alongside the title update. I imagine it’s a way of saying “Is this hard enough for you?”
There's also an advanced version
Nvm: it was advanced normal malzeno
@@AXIDIUS where?
I misread it lol

7:08 i probably have replayed this part more than 10 times already. Definitely the funniest part ever
Started with Malzeno ended with Malzeno.
The circle of life
"What did that poor bug do to you"
It gave him the forbidden suck lol
I'm so ready for Hazard to cause SO much of a shitstorm lmao

Lol fair, I guess we just don't care about the lore as much.
I'm here to hunt the monsters in monster hunter

That monster is absolutely humungous! This also reminds me a lot of the Velkhana fight from world, except with the anomaly damage instead of ice.

didn't realize that lol
Now do the hazard version :)
Oh boy. This will be fun. I think it took 2-3 attempts to repel him.
My boy morbzeno
Cant wait till they try the hazard version
Now we gonna casually wait for the Hazard P. Malzeno experience, would be fun if they suffered more than Valstrax...
LET"S GO

Next week? I NEEEEEED IT🥶🥶
Hazard Malzeno…I need to see the vid xD
Now that sunbreak is finished, what you think of it? How do you compare this game to the other games?

YAY
I thought you would make it a Primordial Zeno experience and have a picture of Grand Zeno on the thumbnail after that Risen Shaggy thumbnail.
Was not aware of that character before this comment lol
@@AXIDIUS You could still do it with the hazard variation since that is the "real" fight.
