That has been one of the most influential books I've ever read on the meaning of suffering. There is a hidden grace in that and she figured that out. My mom read and re-read that a lot after she found out in her 6th month of pregnancy that the baby had died. Back then, you had to carry even a dead person to delivery. My baby brother was born calcified. It wrecked her, but we do need to come to terms with great and unfair tragedies.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to comment and share this sad story about your Mum and brother. You're right that life can be incredibly sad at times and as humans we find our own ways of coping and coming to terms with things. Powerful books and quotes can be part of that support. I find writing my own thoughts and feelings down really helps too. Much love. 💕

This book has long been a favorite of mine as well, but... you thoroughly disrespected her husband, American hero Charles Lindbergh who was the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic. He even turned down the chance to run for U.S. president. I agree that women are more than the spouse of their husband, but ignoring him is utterly unfair, and leaves out valuable context about the experiences that informed her writing.

Agree. The world is mean sometimes.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I guess it's up to us all to choose what we focus on or leave out. No disrespect towards her husband intended.🥰

It's not disrespectful to focus on the author and not their spouse. And plenty has already been written about Charles Lindberg. .She's talking about the book and it's author. I have this book and love the wisdom in her writing.
