i was worried you were only gonna do canon ships like so many others. Good on you for venturing into the wonderful world of beta. Also... so glad you featured the Kerchan, and im flattered you mentioned my video. :)
I feel like you miss out on some interesting information if you don't include beta content. lol... I enjoy your videos and you have a great classic narration voice. Where did you find the information on the Kerchan? I was having difficulties finding in depth information on that ship.
The designer of it said the ship was supposed be like a mobile space station that could resupply or occupy whole worlds on it's own. Which works nice opposite to the Enterprise which was supposed be a flying space embassy.
The Ra'nodaire is my favorite class of warbird. It very much fits the bill of 'mothership' with huge hangar bays and a large, imposing presence that makes the D'deridex look like a shuttle in comparison. Seeing something that massive decloaking out of stealth would instantly erase all hope an opposing fleet would have.
My FAVORITE Romulan ship of all time is the V-30 Winged Defender from FASA games. Beautiful beyond belief!!! It's too bad Paramount never got the rights to the FASA ship designs because they were exquisite vessels!
Original series Star Trek: Romulans were 'The Chinese'; never know what is true or real, they show you one thing, do another...inscrutable. Cloaking devices work both ways: they can hide a fleet, but they can be set to show a fleet that isn't there! Klingons were 'The Russians'; start a fight for no apparent reason, borrow money from you after the fight to buy you a drink, apologize in Song! He only started the fight because he was thirsty, knew you had money and he could probably take you. Klingon guile. Vulcans were 'The British'; cold, calculating 'stiff upper lip'. Accept huge losses, try to find meaning, learn something. Tears are for losers. Star Fleet was 'The Americans'; bold explorers with Pure Hearts who may or may not have hopped over your fence while looking for water. "We aren't bad, we just didn't know..." Every race that was seen more than once was a stand-in for International Political figures of the time. 1960's political scene was a dark and troubling time; the topic 'human extinction under nuclear fire' was on the nightly News more than once. Gene saw the we needed an escape valve, his 'little show' was it.
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely greatly well done and informatively explained and executed in every detail way shape and format provided on the Romulan fleet war ships and my favorite is definitely the Valdor Kerchan class war bird, A job very nicely well done indeed Sir!👌.
Hey ub. What is your favourite power and least favourite power and why? What is your favourite ship and least favourite ship from each power and why? (beta cannon and STO are legit choices to make if you wanted to) 😊
Didnt D'deridex has around 11-13 disruptors when looking at what official creator said? (2 on head, 2 on rear upper wings, 2 on lower upper wings, one in inner between wings, 2 on top, 2 on bot)
Maybe, I've seen multiple numbers. I would assume 7 or anything around 7 to 6 is the highest the warp drive could go ,but the warp drive would probably have core damage at those speeds while Warp 5 would be a realistic number to travel. 🤷♂️
Considering that the 23rd Century Tlis was way slower than the NCC 1701 I doubt the 22nd Century vessel did Warp 7. Kirk even says that the Enterprise has a large speed advantage in Balance of Terror.
@@lanceheaps581 i think 22md 23rd century warp speed is the same scale. Vulcan and andorian ships could reach warp 7 . In 22nd century. I agree the romulans had slower ships especially the one in balance of terror. But i believe they had to chose between cloaking device, and weapons. Sacrificed war speed but in the alliance with the Klingons they received more advanced engine technology that allowed them to do all of the above. But if you recall in tng in the new warp scale. Romulan ships are far slower than the enterprise. Warbird is warp 9.2 , and enterprise is 9.6 . Thats 4 times faster. ( tng season 3 speed federation and romulan ships got faster later )
By only having the strongest ships in service, they are seen as too strong to attack. If no one knows how limited their numbers actually are, they can avoid having to go to war.
There is no evidence they had a small fleet, only that they fought strategically, which makes sense since they had three borders to defend. There's the neutral zone we saw in shows and movies plus the border with the Klingon Empire. Then there's the large border on the far deep beta side of there Empire. Nobody knows what's beyond that, but in VOY we saw the satellite network the Hirogen use that's close by, then there's the bit of Borg space that backs into the Beta Quadrant. That's all we know, but there could be multiple hostile alien species beyond those, leading all the way to the delta border. The Romulans have constantly keep a eye on that and for all we know that could occupy 2\3rds of their fleets attention. That would might make it look like there fleet was smaller than it actually was. It would also explain why they rely so heavily on subterfuge since vast majority of there military resources are consistently tied up.

@@UtopianBroadcast1 and a little bit of head cannon
Yep
I have watch all of your videos venom
Correction the Valdore is actually called a Mogai class.
I love the D'Deridex class from tng. A beautiful ship!😎👍
It is imposing as hell

In StarTrek Picard you wouldn't think that the Romulans had an empire or fleet at all.
Probably because Romulus blew up and half or them died..
The Romulans had become allies with the Federation and resettled in the Federation after their star went supernova.
The Romulans lost their home plant but still controlled a large empire. Their fleet would have been largely unaffected.
My FAVORITE Romulan ship of all time is the V-30 Winged Defender from FASA games. Beautiful beyond belief!!! It's too bad Paramount never got the rights to the FASA ship designs because they were exquisite vessels!
You forgot the best part of the Romulans-------The Shoulder Pads :)

My favorite romulan ship was the T’Varo. I always thought it was a huge misstep that the T’Varo looked so much more advanced than the T’Liss.

Thanks buddy. Great subject your sub count is growing nicely. ( i notice )
Thanks :)
The D’deridex class always seemed lacking in offense to me. A ship that large should have twice the number of distributors and torpedo launchers.
Furthermore, romulan ships have a reputation for being heavily armed for their size, imagine how powerful the d’deridex really is.

Utopian broadcast, what is your favorite starship mounted weapon in all sci fi.
Favorite scifi mounted weapon would be pulse discharge cannon from Babylon 5. You?
@@UtopianBroadcast1 I like the starbreaker from xeelee sequence.

Probably different versions of it; I think the lightly armed ones were meant to be prototypes
I think scimatar is 9.9 7 ( incredible) and dederedidex is 9.2 ( dialogue tin man tng )
9.2 when it destroys its engines...
Great vid! Just subbed, keep the Trek coming, but you forgot the two new types of Romulan ships first seen in Picard😉
I love the Scimitar.
The D'deridex is my favorite ship in all of star trek.
I always thought the shutte was the equivalent of a run about. I think the tavaro was warp 5 .not 7 .

I'd imagine that the Romulans and Federation mutually banned Thalaron Pulsars after the events of Nemesis.
Yes but do you know how to dance like a romulan
Don't skip to other channels I had use history to come back.

" nu-clee-ar" since there's no such thing as " no -kyu-ler "
ROMULANS ........
WERE NEVER VULCANS........
THEY HAVE THE
SAME ANCIENT
RELATIVE WHERE
BOTH SEPARATED
FROM......
AN OFF - SHOOT......
Sadly you've missed that a D'deridex while in cloak could not exceed warp 6 without crippling its warp drive.
nukyular?
Though, honestly, your pronunciation is all overt the place.
The narrator talks with a tone that all this is 'real', when it is nothing like that!!
Where is dhailkhina class from st picard s1?
