- The Celestion M greenback and M creamback are two iconic speakers but which do you prefer? Here we have used a track by the great Tom Quayle.
We used our Mesa Stiletto head and vertical angled Super Fatboy 2x12.

A cream B green, no doubt(or yes)
It's a like for acknowledgement of the feedback... the reveal is on Thursday ;)
Two of my faves. I’ll take a for the greenback and b for the Creamback. They both have those juicy mids that I love and the Creamback has more high end “detail”. Gives it a more modern sound. I still want to try the alnico Creamback too.
And as always I could be totally wrong. But I do know both those speakers are killer.
We'll see on the reveal tomorrow ;)
Where's the Celestionn Alnico 100 demo!! Yours are teh best! Greeen=B
Coming soon mate, we've got one in and we're filming soon.
A cream B green
Reveals on Thursday.
I have both -------> A cream, B green. 100%.
A Cream B Green. Combine them in an X Pattern in a 4x12 and you have one of the best combo's money can buy.
I like B better, more high end, more articulation. Can always take treble away from the amplifier - but you can’t put it in if it isn’t there to begin with. Hopefully it’s the cream back!
I would say same as the person above. To me A sounds like a Cream M 65Watt made in UK and B sounds like a Celestion International Greenback M 25 Watt. To be even more cocky B sounds like 16 Ohm version Greenback M to me :) While A is a toss between a 8 or 16 Ohm version where 52% goes to 8 Ohm. But then Again RUclips and compression and such :)
BTW both do good job but are different. I like them both for what they are. Both are not sounding as Pulsonic cone Greenback but that is OK totally.
It's say A is Cream and B is Green.
Tough one, though! I'd say there's basically just one Celestion G12M 65 Creamback, but there were so many Celestion G12M 20/25 Greenback. I have one M65, four M20 Heritage (from the same batch, made in 2009) and then a collection of M25, the one from 2004 being my favourite because it sounds compressed like vintage units. Then those three from 2009 sound great (all from the same batch), but more focused than the 2004. And the last one from 2013 has a harsher high end, I feel it's more scooped, like some people describe Greenbacks these days. But there's some tolerance among units of the same batch, although I'd say all Greens sound clearer than the Cream, hence my choice. I refuse to take my cork sniffing any further than that, I just love them all, haha.
A Cream and B Green
A is my favourite, by far
@@kroodle8creamback
A is the Creamback. I'd put my life on it.
Im thinking A is cream & B is the green, but i am suprised how much extra high end info there is in B, but its a bit fizzy
A is definitely Cream
Thanks for making this shootout, been waiting for this particular for some time👍I'd guess A is the cream and B the greenback with the extra glassy top end clarity. Although A might sound nicer on its own, I believe B (which I prefer) cuts much better through the mix and you can always turn the tone control or treble down if its too much... And if it's the other way around, well that'd be a surprise but you guys have taught me to be prepared for anything in a speaker blind test 🤣
Great vid!
Thanks.
On its own I prefer A, but I suspect B might sound better in the mix
A sounded superb - and then B sounded disappointing in comparison, except at the end when it sounded amazing. Great playing! I’m going to be sad at the reveal, aren’t I? 😂
hahaha that's speakers for you. We get it here when testing in the studio, one second you wont like a speaker and then it sings when you try something new. Thanks for watching.
A Cream, B Green
There's more clarity on the B cab
B is Greenback
