      Jammu amd kashmir was ruled by different rulers. Those who ruled kashmir didnt ruled jammu exept for few . It was only under maharaja gulab singh when he bought jammu from britishers for 75 lakh rupees at that time because in anglo sikh war , sikhs lost jammu to british but maharaja gulab singh he was the military commander under maharaja ranjit singh at that time in jammu bought jammu from britishers..and after that he annexed kashmir too in battle of shopian.

    • @Hey.there543
      @Hey.there543 9 месяцев назад

      So jk history got combined only after when maharaja gulab singh becams the king of jammu and kashmir in 1846 when Dogra rule was established . Before that polity of jammu and kashmir was different . Also there are very few sources available for history of jammu but we have many sources for kashmir history . Rajtarangini also mentions only about kashmir. There is not mention of jammu. So we know jammu history mainly through its folklores , coins and palaces and few sources which may or may not be true becoz they were scattered and too little info was available on them

    Thank you for the lecture mam.
    I have a question. I checked at my places but found it nowhere that Fateh Mohammad Khan helped Shri Ranjit Singh to conquer Kashmir. In fact at some places it is mentioned that in 1812 Fateh Khan agreed for a joint invasion with Sikhs on Kashmir.Fateh Khan died in 1818. And Shri Ranjit Singh was helped by Birbal Dhar in 1819
    Anyone can clarify. Thanks
