Absoultely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this 1938 'classic' film footage of a remarkable Horse !
The way 'Bois Roussel' storms thru & trounces the opposition is just mindblowing.
As if that wasn't enough, they even named an Engine (Railway) after him - (LNER 60117)
But perhaps best of all - He "is" Gt.Grandad to Britain's most famous Horse, "RED RUM"

This is exactly how my horse used to race (and win), coming from the back straight to the finish line...

Electrifying turn of foot by Bois Roussel x Well timed ride by Charlie Elliott x stalwart of the weighing room x poor Sir Gordon had to wait until 1953 and Pinza for his Derby winner x the Coronation year. x.
