In 2022 when they were 14-1 and Jalen got hurt, all they had to do is win 1 game to lock up the 1 seed. They lost with Menshew twice and Jalen had to come back early. One of those games was against the 3 win Saints in which Philly owned their 2023 first round draft pick. If Philly wins, they would have the #6 pick. Instead they lost and got the #12 pick. Is Gardner Menshew that bad that you lose that game? Was the roster overrated? Or Jalen cover up a lot of coaching malpractice (like Brady with a bad in Belicheck)?

That’s not the right way to look at going for it on 4th down. That’s outcome bias. League-wide, going for it on 4th down is a 50/50 play. Well, FG is 43% of a TD with an XP. So, the odds, the metrics, the big picture all support going for it in that situation. FGs should be a last resort.
The problem isn’t going for it and not getting it, it’s having no clue how to play the game in crunch time.

To not care about probability suggests that you don’t care about logic or facts. Why take the ball first in regular season OT? Because…probability suggests you win more often than taking the ball second. But, this genius here doesn’t give “af” about probability! 😘

To defend Pete the pass was there but Russ lead the WR instead of sticking it in his belly. The only way to stop it then was PI. You lead him and it let the defend make the play. But I would won or lost the game giving it to the RB twice for that stop. You had two plays. They stop the run twice you tip your hat. You go with what got you there. It wasn't Russ in the redzone. He's never been good in the redzone his whole career.

If you get stuffed on the run or just come up short of the first down then you make a decision on whether or not you want to go for it on 4th or kick and go up 6. The play to Saquan being one that should have worked is true, but it should have never been called in the first place. The Eagles coach gave the Falcons their best chance to win and that is bad coaching.
