  • RNLI 200 years. Respect The Water. In this video about small boat safety kit, I'd like your help to support the lifeboats. I want to donate all the RUclips revenue which this video raises during 2024 to the RNLI as part of their 200 years celebration.
    Please Like, Share, Comment, Subscribe and Click the Notification Bell to get as many views as possible to raise funds for the lifeboats. At the end of the year I'll let folks know how much has been raised for the RNLI and hopefully we'll get to visit a lifeboat station to present a cheque.
    UPDATE: Since producing this video I now have an inshore flares pack and a PLB. Safety is something I'm constantly looking to improve.
    Tight lines from me and a tail wag from Dee.

    Thanks for watching the video and between us we can raise some funds for the RNLI. If you like what you see, please consider giving the video a thumbs up, post a brief comment and share the video as widely as you can. As I mentioned in the video I'm not one for asking folks to subscribe and hit the notification bell. However in this case it will make a difference to the way RUclips displays the video - the more views the more the RNLI will receive. You're going to see a few adverts - that's where the money comes from. Bear with me on that.
    Most importantly I hope you enjoy the video and you stay safe out on the water in your small fishing boat. Phil.

    Kind of an unwritten rule here in Canada that you carry at least twice the fuel needed.Boat tank wants to be more than half full at all times to avoid picking up air in fuel line in rougher seas. CHEERS from HERE!

    • @anotherangleUK
      @anotherangleUK  3 месяца назад

      Same over here. I have two full tanks and the second is the reserve. I have a second fuel line in case the man ends up with an issue. Good point about low tanks and air getting drawn into system. 👍

    cheers fella. well done for supporting a great cause. I always support the RNLI.Don't forget charity begins at home. As for your zip problem soak them in a drop of ATF (automatic transmission fluid ).it will eventually free off and to stop it from happening again get some beeswax from your local dive shop for the zipper.

    Hi Phil. Great way to explain the monetisation of RUclips and how the revenue works and also to remind us to all check our kit!!. I'm trying to do something myself with the RNLI 200 who are such an important organisation for water sports of any nature. They not only do the rescue bit but are always happy to talk to sailors about weather, local knowledge etc so they're very helpful with advice too.
    I agree with the flares. I wonder if the electronic ones are any good on small craft?

    • @anotherangleUK
      @anotherangleUK  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Dave, goodness knows what it costs for a lifeboat to go out on a call. Like you, I'm happy to do my part to raise funds to donate. I do hope I never need their services. I noticed on one of your videos you have a PLB attached to your life jacket. That looks a compact device. Stay safe on the water. Phil.

    Superb cause. Did you make your switch box? Also do you use a fuel filter and water separator?

    • @anotherangleUK
      @anotherangleUK  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, yes the box has a water seal and has all the switch a fuse gear neatly fitted inside. All the cables exit through those white conduit pipes you see.

    • @anotherangleUK
      @anotherangleUK  6 месяцев назад +1

      In answer to the fuel filter / water separator, the Tohatsu has one built in under the cover and I've not found the need to fit an extra one. I use E5 fuel by the way.

    • @Nunn_the_wiser
      @Nunn_the_wiser 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@anotherangleUK Yes, I think using E5 is a good idea. Interesting, I didn't realise there's a fuel filter and water separator built-in, very useful.

    It maybe controversial but although the RNLI is an important service I can’t support them anymore since they have been openly operating a taxi service for illegal immigrants crossing the channel. With regards to your safety equipment you have just about everything covered but personally I would still carry some flares if only a couple of handheld smoke flares.

    • @anotherangleUK
      @anotherangleUK  3 месяца назад

      Thanks. My plan is to get one of the personal EPIBs which I’ll be able to use on both the boat and the kayak (attached to me).

    • @anotherangleUK
      @anotherangleUK  2 месяца назад +1

      The boat safety kit has additional items - a friend of mine donated an inshore coastal flares pack and I've bought a PLB (Personal Location Beacon) which I can use either on the boat o kayak. 👍

    • @joekerr6685
      @joekerr6685 2 месяца назад +1

      @@anotherangleUK I have already watched your latest video, the pack you have are the minimum my old boat angling club recommended. One line of thought is it’s better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them. Tight lines 👍
