Suzie’s hair is so big bc it’s full of knowledge and secrets
Haha..
Cool
😂😭 I love her hair. She’s so freaking awesome!!
Love Mean Girls
Its a wig
I need a nail technician who cares about my natural nails like you do
Her nails weren't natural she still had a thin layer of gel/ acrylic on her nails and she did say this, she tells you in most of her videos that she always keeps a thin layer of product on her nails she never takes it all off from her nails
paula rooney i think you have accidentally misread her statement, but i think she meant that Suzie is careful when she is working on her clients.
@@paularooney1937 Ok? What does that have to do with what Desiree said?
Everytime I go to a nail salon they file my natural nails so violently with a very coarse nail filer and I cringe so much

Great video. Nail prep is so important. I'm one of the oily girls and acetone has helped so much.
Acetone is a great secret! Thanks💜
How do you use acetone to prevent lifting?
I love you!!!
Nail Career Education how can I remove my acrylics . I’ve had them on for 3 weeks now. Or do I wait on them to fall off . Or grow off
@@nicolewright9306 acetone
I had a nail tech who I went to for years. He was talented at nail art and I loved his work. One time I complained off handed about the lifting I always experienced as he was fixing it. He told me it's because I retained water like my mom.... now my mom was really sick and had lots of health issues and yes one of her issues was retaining water. I was 19. And relatively healthy. I do not retain water. He never pushed back my cuticle, used acetone or a dehydrator. I now do my own nails and am trying to get into nail tech school. I have lifting but only when I know I messed up on application or I have worn the nails without rebalancing them for to long. He was a terrible nail tech. Using my health as a reason for service break down. Especially when it wasn't a health issue.
Hey Susie could you a video about hygiene, how to sanitise tools etc between each client or even for yourself whether you have spear tools or not.
Thankyou so much, this video is so helpful by the way !
That'd be an awesome video! I'm always trying to figure out the best method to sanitize. Do I boil it? UV it? Use iso alcohol on it? I'd love to know too! :)
Yes! Good idea!
Bethany Harbaugh there is a sanitization product called barbicide. That’s what you’re supposed to use when sanitizing any beauty products by rinsing with soap first and then using the measurements ratio and leaving them for 10-20 minutes, and after you just rinse them and leave to dry. Of course there’s other ways to sanitize but I’m just familiar with barbicide.
I asked that qiestion before, a lot of people joined me, but nothing happened. :(
The only way to kill every pathogen on your tools is with an autoclave, but they are expensive, heavy, and they will destroy things like nail files. By far the most common way to sterilize tools is Barbicide. You can buy it at Sally's and some pharmacies. First, clean your tools with detergent and warm water, making sure to get ALL residue from them - particularly important with drill file bits and nail files. Mix 2oz of Barbicide in 1 quart of water. Dip your tools in the solution and leave them submerged for at least ten minutes. Then pull them out and rinse them and let them dry. One thing it doesn't kill is tuberculosis (unless you get the special TB Barbicide, but it's kinda nasty and will corrode tools eventually) but it will kill nail fungus. Never work on an infected nail. I think it's the law in most states that you can't touch infected nails.
I love these videos because for example, i got my nails done two weeks ago and i could tell the lady was doing it wrong and i had to tell her to stop. Thanks Suzy for showing us what to look out for!
Paola Julissa that’s awesome that you could tell she was doing it wrong because you have to take care of your nails! But sometimes like you have to see that it might be their way of doing nails, cause every one works different not every one works the same, I mean obviously some steps have to be the same but some people do it differently etc. I’m just saying in no way I’m trying to be rude. 😊💕
yamileth jimenez not rude at all, i totally understand what you’re saying. The lady was literally hurting me and ended up making me bleed so, i knew it was wrong 💖
Paola Julissa omg nooo ouch! I’m glad you stopped lol
Paola Julissa ugh i hate when theyre rough this is the reason im going to school now... rather do it myself than get manhandled like i did last time
Suzie throwing boxes over her shoulder is a mood.
I literally just come here to hear you talk. I still can't do my nails to save my life, but man do I sleep good when I hear your voice 😍
I find it really amusing to see the different ways ppl do their nails on different countries/cultures. I'm from Brazil, and here we have a completely different approach on nails.
Have you ever thought of comparing/testing different manicures from around world, Suzie? It would be quite a fun experience to watch! :)
Now I'm curious what they do in Brazil?
had to watch the whole video back to remember all the differences! 😅😅😅
but one of the main ones is that here there's more focus on the natural nails rather than using enhancements/extensions (although there's a lot of ppl who use them, is not a majority), so the prep is all about that natural nail.
another difference I can point is that here we tend to hidrate the nail, nail bed and cuticles. it's normal to soak the hand in water with emolients to lift the cuticle - which we usually nip it all out. we never ever file the top of the natural nail (eventualy we even buff it to make it smoother), and we spend more time on shaping the free edge/tip of the nail (even if planning to apply enhancements/extensions).
that's all I can remember now - there's been quite some time since I last went to get my nails professionaly done (I do it myself at home most of the time and only go to a nail saloon/tech if I have an special event comming up).
@@carolina-ex2kl Thank you so much for coming back to watch the video and answer my question 😍 I actually looove all the attention to the natural nail! I feel like we could use more of that in Europe (where I live). It almost feels like nail stylists and manicurists are totally separate jobs: one is more about decorating and the other more about caring. Thanks for sharing the cultural differences on this subject! ❤️
I have all my 60 years pushed back my cuticles with my opposite thumb nail. Gentle, easy and works. Doesn't anyone else ever do this???
I do!
I thought the thumb was there just for that purpose lol
Me
My brother has always done this. His cuticles are nearly invisible, they look so nice. He quit biting his nails too and now he has these really healthy, strong, beautiful nails. I push my cuticles back with orange sticks and my thumb too, but my nails are thin and brittle lol. He got the good nail genes from our dad.
Yep the most effective
2:30am here in Australia but I’m still going to watch the queen of nails xxx love your work 😍
12:41pm here in Massachusetts!
Australia sounds amazing!
Ohhh thank you 🙏🏼 by the sounds of it you haven’t been here before? I have been to America but not Massachusetts
@@michelleparker9919 no I haven't! You must have a beautiful accent. I wish so much that I had an Australian accent. I heard Australia has extremely large bugs? Is it only in a certain area? I'd love to go visit there sometime!
@@beautifulhope861 Australia Lol Like a plethora of deadly creatures... But Florida is the Australia of the states😂
Will you ever put out another nail kit that has everything you need to create a basic French or natural nail?
Yes, that would be nice especially for the ones (like me) that never got to buy her last nail kit. =(
That's a good idea.
Pretty Noona YES, please do!!!
I'm 23 and just starting to paint and take care of my nails. This was so helpful and simplified, thank you!
Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant. Best ever step by step nail prep I’ve ever seen, no over use of drill, no harsh metal implements. Just beautiful. xx
So glad you talk about nippers! I'm in NSW Australia and for us, it's a big deal. They consider it to be a skin penetrative procedure to cut around the proximal fold, and some councils, including where I live, ban the practice. I lived in England for a few years, which is where I first used to get my nails done, and they always did it, so when I came home I was so bummed to find out they don't do it here once I started beauty school. Thank goodness for chemical cuticle remover lol
I’m 13 and I’m already doing acrylic nails and other things and you’ve helped me so much 💓
Jofa Wafer Me too she’s amazing
That's amazing! You keep at it and you might just be the next Suzie!
Best wishes doll!💜💙💜💙
Great I also started at that age
It might be ur future
Sandie June nice 👍
Suzie, Your natural nails are lovely! How is it that your nails don't look flakey and mangled the way so many others do, who have been wearing full sets for so long. Yours are just beautiful. Can you show us how you remove your nails and treat them? Thank you so much. D
i bet there was a thin layer of pink gel/acrylic on her natural nails. at 10:25 you can see 1-2mm line of natural plate starting from cuticle. Trust me, the nail drill sounds different on gel/acrylic than on natural nails ;)
She has a layer of gel ( she said she had gel on, if I recall correctly). When you remove the products, you always leave a thin layer.
You don’t have to leave a layer actually. You can soak it completely off. She chooses to leave a layer sometimes so it’s easier to start A new set. You are completely able to soak off the entire nail. Flaky damage is often caused by over filing during nail prep. Too course of a file or ripping nails off. I have never taken off a proper set that was done by myself of anyone else reputable that had nail damage.
I’ve seen so many of your videos, and I’m not sure how I missed this one. Exactly what I wanted to learn. Thank you for making it!
I just started a nail course at college and i have watching you for over a year now and it’s unbelievable how much i have already learned from you x
I absolutely adore the way that you explain how to prep the nails
These videos are so full of so much information that I'm leaning a lot, I wish there was a nail technician here like you then I would get my nails done.
She is so calm I love her videos ❤️
Great video. Clear, concise…truly educational. As a novice at this “nail stuff” I have been devouring video tutorials and this - by far - has been the best.
Girl, thank you so much for posting this video!!! God bless you! You’re so fun to watch!
Thank you Suzie! Learning to do my own nails for fun after being disappointed for years in the look. So excited to try all your suggestions on my next application
I love your calm voice and demeanor 🦄🌸🌈
This was suuuuuuuper helpful thank you Suzie! I do my own gel polish and it's THE most annoying thing when it lifts.. after taking so much effort to finish the beautiful nails.. grr.. thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Omg! This video couldn't have come at a better time! I just ordered an acrylic kit a couple of weeks ago. I followed the directions and *thought* I prepped my nails correctly. By the 2nd day, they all popped off! Thank you, Suzie!
ive been getting gel manicures for a reason for a full year now with covid ive ordered a nail dipping kit and i had no idea how to prep my nails im grateful my manicurist makes me take my tools home i also think you figured out why sometimes my manicures burn when he is rushing or has full schedule so thank you im now subscribed and cant wait to learn more
I love wearing natural nails and your preparation is the best I've seen. One can simply just wear preped nails bare or put some polish on. Wonderful tutorial, a lot of explanation and very soothing voice.
Love you Suzie! I always feel so inspired after watching your videos. You're the Bob Ross of RUclips!💜
I love your videos Suzie, you’re so passionate! I always refer back to your channel for advice & tips.
Always good teaching Suzie ,thanks☺

Thanks Ms Suzie
I've been using my boyfriend as my test hand and it's great. It's going well but I don't think I quite have the nail prep down. This is such a helpful and useful video. Thank you so much for it. Thoughtful and well detailed. Not to mention super satisfying and relaxing to watch!! Watching you makes me feel like I can do anything with any nail. You're absolutely amazing. Thank you.
This is such a good video! I just got an e-file myself and am still teaching myself to use it properly :) Prepping is soooo important! ♡ TFS!
Another great informative vid Suzie! Love watching ❤️
Your voice is so soothing and relaxing! Enjoying watching your videos. Thanks!
Nice info! I'm finally getting better with my prep, because this mani has been on for 3 weeks (new record for me. lol) I have been using clear dip polish underneath polygel, and so far so good! Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for great video! Very helpful!
Thank you for your contribution to society
I've been doing my own gel polish for a while and want to start doing my own gel extensions... Your videos are SO GREAT because of how much detail you include and WHY each step is important. (Also, what polish are you wearing on your other hand?!) thank you!
Your the one who inspired me to learn how to do nails! It really does take a while to learn! I've probably been doing them for maybe 3 years on and off and am just now getting a smoother application. The only time they're still lumpy and bumpy is when I'm doing my nails on my non dominant hand
Love your videos Susie. Today is my first time im putting on acrylic nail and the nail dip. thanks for the tip about the file and the acetone💅
Really needed this video as a homegrown gel-sculpting newbie, my nails tend to produce oil a lot as well. Thanks Suzie
Thank you for your videos! You are very informative and its so helpful.
Thanks for the review on nail prep. I needed a reminder of the facts on the primer. Great video👍💅😘❤
thank you so much for this! it helped me tremendously. last time i did a gel set i skipped buffing my nails and could not figure out why my polish was lifting right away.... i watched this and i was like... oh yeah! buffing!! let’s just say my nails look great right now 😻
I've been having lifting problems lately and never had before. I do my gel nails regularly and this is weird. I can't wait to see what I can learn
Suzie your the best nail artist I'm just 10 and I'm already doing acrlic nails just from watching your videos you helped me find my intrest in nails so I thank you very much for helping your fans in this kind of things they need to know while doing nails I love you so much Suzie From Jocilynn
I love watching your videos. You are a great teacher 👩🏫
Thank you for this video. I have been trying everything to stop the lifting on my nails except for the acetone. I will give that a try.
I don't like when you prep an acrylic nail, I like seeing the whole process. So thank you for doing it on your natural nail.
I’ve been waiting so long for this! Thank you so much 💕
Oh Tysm for this video Suzie!! Can't wait to try
Thank you for making this video about using acetone instead of alcohol to clean the nail ! 👍🏻 Suzie!
Thank you for this video. Very helpful! Once I've completed the cuticle work I was taught to continue with the cuticle bit to file the natural nail. From your video I should be using the nail file or the arbor band. I think I will be changing to that....
thank you camera man!!! for the amazing video. thank for sharing your talents with us !!!
You’re amazing! This was so helpful!!
My favorite nail queen
My hero. I have sjogrens and am constantly moisturizing. It's so obvious but I'm not getting my prep up to the very, very edge. You're a doll face, thanks bunches.
Yes!! This is the video I have been wanting!!! ♡

This vídeo was super helpfull thanks Suzy, your the best 💐🙏👌😘
Thank you so much for this video!
i'm In love with suzie's gold nails :D omg!!!
Also don't forget that if you're on any medications it may also effect the adhesion of acrylic to the nail plate. I've seen that quite a bit
What types of medications can affect this?
YES!!! Do tell what sorts of medication affect adhesion!!!
Hey. Which part of Florida? I'm from Tallahassee 😉.
Diabetes meds, antibiotics, pot smoking, B vitamins, and stopping birth control can all cause lifting by affecting the nail bed and nail composition.
@@tgkathay2537 thank you!
Nice video and helpful information, I love you, and I need someone like you to teach me about nails everything 🥰🥰🥰
I've just discovered you & been binge watching your videos the last weeks! Love it! So much beautiful nails! Please do a video for us with "thin/smooth nails". No matter the tricks, my nail technician (or me) can seem to get normal nailpolish, gel polish or acrylics to stick for very long. It chips or lifts very fast, just like we used a peelmoff base coat (but we didnt). Especially due to the natural nail hitting something and bending/flexing or being too smooth for adhesion. I'd love to be able to wear a beautiful gel color for 2-3 weeks or have acrylics - but it just does not stay on :) I'd love some tips! Hugs from Norway
I just got dip powder nails for the first time, trying to grow out my onion-peel, thin nails. (genetic, my mom's are the same) I was looking for info about dip nails online and found your channel and subscribed. I'm not a nail tech, but I love watching you and listening to you. My fiance is Canadian and before I knew where you are, I guesses you are Canadian, love your adorable accent. :) Thanks for making such great videos!
I love the square on you it looks really nice
Camera man needs to do a set of nails on you! 😁
Amber Wallers I know right.. He's seen her do nails so many times, he'll probably be great at it.
That would seriously be so fun! He's had to gain some serious knowledge of nail tech by now
Finally happened, just one nail though
Thank you for the video! I will keep this in mind when taking off my current gel polish. I’m looking at the 184 individuals that could have just kept scrolling but decided to be negative 🤦🏻♀️. You did amazing 👍🏽
Today I did my very 1st ibd hard gel overlay on my natural nails and it lifted. No idea why! So glad I found your video! My nails are at a length I want to keep from breaking. Until now I've used Kiss glue and dipped in acyrlic powder 2x to keep them sturdy and hard. I'm hoping ibd hard gel is my NEW solution! BTW: I love your tutorials!
I love you Suzie!!!!! 😚😚😚 I take so much better care of my natural nails thanks to you!! I do not get fake nails because of all the trouble I have had in the past (really bad infection, meds, pain, and horrible ugly nails) but I treat my nails great. I soak once a week in warm lemon water and exfoliate well. Then, I put on hands booties hehe, and let that soak in for about 10 minutes. After that I apply a base coat, ridge filler and a natural polish tone and voila!! Thank you for all the info, love you much girlie!!!
My very first nail salon experience was in the 7th grade (20 something years ago). I got my nails done for my first semi-formal dance. The woman drilled my nails so much that she penetrated my half moon/lanula on my thumb SO BADLY that a week later I had guts... yep you read that right, guts/meat coming out of the spot she drilled through between my cuticle and the acrylic nail. It smelled like decay it was horrifying! 🤦🏼♀️ one 7 hour ER wait and an outpatient surgery later I was fine and so was my nail thank goodness but oh my. What a nightmare!!! You should totally do a Q&A on peoples nail salon nightmares and what you think went wrong & would do differently!
Guts!? How!? Pls explain. I don’t understand but it sounds horrifying!
