This video was really helpful! Thanks for posting this! When you talked about not practicing vibrato right away when you start practicing, I realized that that’s exactly what I do. When I start practicing, the first thing I practice is always vibrato. Now I know that I should not practice vibrato right away when I start practicing.
Yessss! I always used to joke my vibrato needed to warm up a bit before it was ready...but actually I just needed to do a few warmups before jumping into it.
I think the thing that throws most new violinists off is that is actually such a tricky instrument to get the hang of and to make sound good! So getting a good violin is KEY! As well as having a good teacher.
Check out one of my other videos on vibrato to see it demonstrated, but it’s two steps. The finger in “donut🍩” is strong, then goes down to “noodle🍝” and is gentle and noodle-y.

Terrific vid! If I would have seen this years ago, I would have avoided so much frustration and lost time trying to learn vibrato. Bravo!
Aw well thank you!!
‘Don’t isolate the movement’ is a good tip! ( for me anyway) . Thank you
Yesss! When the whole hand moves it's a much sweeter vibrato.

How hard do you press down on the fingerboard when vibratoing?

One video on shifting please😊
Absolutely! I have a video coming in the beginning of September!
Dear Corrie, do you think it advisable to crimp the strings near the barrels? Would this give deeper tone? Thanks!😅
Noooo...I'm not 100% sure what you mean by crimping or barrels, but I wouldn't advise putting any sort of thing onto your violin like that.
Thanks u a lot
And what is your string that u are often using?
I love Evah Pirazzi! These ones: amzn.to/4dAyse0
