I appreciate your efforts in making equipment reviews and you seem to know what you're talking about in this and other videos. BUT you guys need to invest in some audio recording equipment. Using the onboard audio microphone of whatever camera you're using is completely amateur and the audio in your videos is horrible. Spend a few hundred bucks on a lavalier wireless mic system and your videos will be so much better.
I’m 6’4” 260 lbs I currently paddle a sandpiper 130. I’m looking to find something that I could take out on the Great Lakes. I live in Ft. Wayne Indiana. I will also be on smaller lakes an rivers
You can't go wrong with a Fathom, but I would also look into the Delta Kayak's 17'. They are very comparable but, differ in design philosophy. Eddyline is a skeg only British design while Delta is North American-- rudder or skeg. The Eddyline may have a slight advantage in the 'playful' category, but the Delta is going to have a similar advantage when it comes to rough wave distance, common on the Great Lakes. The Delta is a BIG man's kayak while still maintaining it's excellent glide characteristics. Also the two crafts have a very similar hull design with the Eddyline displaying a 'sharp' chine; the Delta is more rounded. A hard chine is better for edging, but again if you have ever paddled a round bottom boat you KNOW that they are much more sea worthy--advantage Delta.
