    This setup offers all the flexibilty of a 2 - speed gearbox setup without the fragility - it must be one of the most capable WPL trucks around.
    I loved the mud montage - its near cinematic qualities worked well to show off your creation, and the truck´s capability shines through.
    By the waay, I was amused @ 3:45 by the way you made mention of "cable husbandry". It´s an excellent description : )

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Del. It certainly gives you the slow crawl speed without compromising the top end too much. I love a good montage!(as you know lol). We use the term 'Wiring Husbandry' in the Aviation world, so I just said cable instead of 'Wiring' to reduce the amount of stick my work mates give me for using the term haha. By the way, the C34 is on its way. I'll email you the shipping details later.

    @Tomley RC Garage, I'm 70 years old and will be ordering a B36KM when they become available next, possibly 15 Dec. and plan on doing some modifications during the build. Most mods will be to the suspension, but I really like the fender-mounted air filter and haven't been able to locate one. I don't do Facebook, so do you have any suggestions? Back in the 1980s I had a Kyosho Blizzard and a Kyosho 4WD/4WS, so I'm somewhat familiar with RC ground vehicles but most of my professional mechanical experience has been with bicycles and aircraft. That is one IMPRESSIVE truck you've built! Thank you. Wright Flyer, USAF (1968-1972)

    Very cool concept. This is the true way to up the power 💪🏼👍🏼 If you are able to spread the distance between motors apart (linear) and pitch them a smig you also will eliminate harsh angles on driveshafts. I had this concept brewing in head for a few different builds of mine. Just haven’t got around to designing it. awesome work awesome truck 🤓😎

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  5 лет назад

      Cheers dude. The rear motor is perfect for the rear axle as this has the modified bridge axle that raises the input, eliminating the harsh angle. The front could do with a tweak though. It's certainly my best WPL build so far (IMO) 🤘

    @aljensen7779 5 лет назад +2

    That's an intriguing design of power plant there, Phil. I notice you didn't seem to have any issue at all with torque twist. Are the motors counter-rotating, then? And are they entirely front/rear dedicated, or do they share a spur, somewhere?

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  5 лет назад

      Al, the motors do indeed counter rotate (well, I think they do) as well as being independent front/rear, the bridge (centre) axle is the new design that nearly eliminates all the twist in the axle. 🤘

    • @WCPRCModelsCraft
      @WCPRCModelsCraft 5 лет назад +1

      One motor front and one for rear wheels. But they are wired in parallel. You can actually rotate one motor without battery connected and it will actually turn the other motor. Although you need alot of torque to rotate the motors.
      I have thought about designing a lay shaft to connect them, but actually i find that it works in it's favour to not have physically connected driveline. Good for crawling. You could actually run dual esc seperately if you wanted. We are planning this on one of our 8x8 setups using same motor setup

      Also will the dual motor mount work in the wpl B36-3 transport?

    Amazing build man. I love it. I keep looking at getting one of these for a build. I've been busy with my 1:10 and 1:24 trucks recently. But, I really want to get one of these. What is the best starting rig to build up from in your opinion? Also, great job on the paint and detail work. It is so clean. My 1:10 rigs with far more space are not nearly as tidy as that!

      Cheers dude. If you want a 6x6, then go for this B36. For a 4x4 you have a few more options. Whatever your taste really... military or pick up etc. All of them can be modded so much now, and with all the kits you get better tyres, bigger motors and a proper servo. The RTR's can be ok, but if you are in to building stuff, get a kit.

    That's a very nice looking truck You got there!
    I'm new to crawlers and been looking at these b36 trucks (also waiting for my c34km to arrive ).
    Could You tell me the differences between kit and rtr?
    I know the kit doesn't come with battery, esc and controller, but is it only the tyres that are different?
    Cheers

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  5 лет назад

      The Kit's for the B36 are really not much different. You get a Servo and soft tyres. I always recommend the RTR as it's really good out the box. But it all depends whether you are planning on upgrading and stuff.... or if you enjoy putting stuff together. 👍

    • @KalleAlho
      @KalleAlho 5 лет назад

      Thanks for the answer.
      I think I'll take RTR.
      I do like putting stuff together but with little kids, it's hard to find the time for it 😊. I think I will try it first and maybe upgrade it sometime in the future, If necessary.
      Cheers

    That is a really good looking truck! You asked for thoughts on what type of truck it could be. Maybe a support truck as you mentioned, but for a desert race team such as the Baja 1000 or a ralley team.Recovery vehicle for same. Or with some type of living quarters on the back, a global exploration vehicle. Just some thoughts. It could be outfitted for just about anything. Not much of a commuter....unless you live in the arctic. Lol.
