Thanks for the T-bone scene that came out of nowhere...scared me good and gave me a good wakeup call. Jacques Cousteau called the Puget Sound his second favorite place in the world, that' means something coming from someone who's seen it all.
I was blown into Kingston during a week long storm in 1983. I think I saw the whole place. Very enjoyable stay even though the weather was bad. Thanks for taking me back there
Cool vehicle. Some call them a motorized wheelchair. A cute story....back in the 1950's when I was real young, my parents had a really small vehicle called by the maker "go go mobile". They are now collectors cars. It would barely fit 4 small people inside and was so small. My dad worked at a grade school and one day the kids had picked it up physically and set it against a wall so the door could not be opened on one side. Just a cute trick back when things were very different from nowadays. Thanks.
Years ago when I was a cruiser we found many marinas on the ICW that had a car so that you could run errands, as well as restaurants would pick you up and return you if you called. Always nice to have a way to get your shopping done when you cruise. Thanks for the ride along.
The best playground in the Pacific Northwest is Puget Sound and all it has to offer. I enjoy your adventures on the water and next trip back home (Seattle) will be by boat. It is quite impressive to actually see just how much Puget Sound has grown in 20 years. Thank you for this view you two...such a fun couple!
My marina dont even have a bathroom :(. I love this channel, one day maybe i can buy a nordhavn and live onboard. Ciao, from venice (italy) P.s. : shawn looks like my old boss , a commercial boat captain here in venice, a wise man.
I'm old Kingston resident . But I left along time ago , not by choice it was a tragic childhood we had. But we lived just behind the market area turn at the wood store. Last shack on the pavement. Joe and Bonnie's old shack. Lana and Tawni we two sisters about three and four at the time ,my dad had the old green truck and an older car ( antique) now. Both vehicles got stolen from Shelton about 30 years ago , never to be found. And his antique gun collection burned in a trailer fire around 1980. Alot of old-timers drank coffee with dad back in the day.Kingston and Shelton .
NIce. Kingston is only 2,122 miles from me, but that is how the car drives. To take a boat its a little longer. I'd like to cruise the Puget Sound area some day, but I would likely try for summer.
Great video as always. I liked how you used the mavic mini and captured some creative video. Thanks for sharing your get away with us. If I was in the PNW it would be on my list to visit
I just bought a Ranger Tug R-27 and hope to see you guys on the water. I’ll keep her docked on Lake Washington until I am familiar with the boat then move to the Sound in 2021 😀
It's simple; "assume it's going to rain, be thankful if it's not". ;-) One pet peeve I have is people in the "Greater" Seattle area driving their convertible with the roof up on nice days (57 degrees, that's what heaters are for).
Agreed, every Port should have a loaner! When we fly into airports w own aircraft, most FBOs (Fixed Base Operators, where you get fuel and other services) have loaners so you can run errands, get some lunch, etc! It’s almost a given! Sad that boating doesn’t do this! Oh well!
Kingston also has some great little restaurants and such. Also, one of your videos popped up on my feed even though I mostly watch sailing videos...and it was the video of you guys moving into Shilshole! Which is awesome! Maybe I'll bump into you guys as I'll be over at Windworks fairly frequently!
Fun video! Trying to convince the hubs to bring SV Brizo south during this virus period but doing the trip down in a sailboat is a bit more challenging! If you are looking for a port with take out food, think of Everett. The NORTH marina has Bluewater Distillery with a great menu that they've just created for the next two weeks...
Angela Krisinger thanks for the good idea! We had plans to go down the Hood Canal for a week but the marina closed in conjunction with the resort it’s on. We’ve been talking about going back to Everett recently so maybe we’ll try that and the distillery 👍
@@mvfreedom The owner, John, built a custom aluminum sailboat, Wolf, that is in the north marina... look for the brown sails. He's a big fan of Tofino as well, since that's where the hull of Wolf came from! Safe travels!
Fun trip, I visited SeaTac for business in November, looked like a great place to boat.....maybe next time...ps. I’m going to check your boat out more!
Great vid. Can u guys make a vid talking about your scariest or funniest boating moments? I once grounded a sailboat on an ebb tide in front of a pier in front of 100 people.
I used to leave one of my cars at Marina Coral in Ensenada Mexico for anyone to use that was arriving on a boat. Lots of Nordhavn owners used it. I also kept a large 4WD truck to pull out trailers and save vehicles that had succumbed to the poorly built steep boat ramp. The dock master there did not appreciate my helping the boat owners and had his security brake into both vehicles, steal the registrations, and slash the tires. They later denied my access to my own boat, because I refused to follow their warnings to not socialize with other boat owners. Never go there. Worst place ever, and if you have to stop there, give no personal information to the Dockmaster, Fito. Pay cash, never give them your credit card.
Quick question...I've been boating in the area a long time. I'm trying to figure out where you got the 200 marinas within 15 miles in your description. There are definitely close to that number within 150 miles. Not being but nit picky. Just trying to find the 150 or so I've been missing. Also Brownsville and Des Moines have very good fuel prices. Des Moines knocks off $.10 if you fuel on Mondays
I know you're 43 is a trawler and is absolutely beautiful boat ,so well-built well engineered great everything except to me just to slow 7 knots that would drive me crazy, is it possible to get a bigger motor at least so you could cruise at 10 or 12 knots
It’s my understanding that it will do 11 knots but at that speed you burn 3x the diesel and 7 knots burns roughly 2 gallons per hour. Four knots faster burning 7 to 9 more gallons definitely doesn’t seem like a great trade off to increase speed 4 knots.
Little facts. Polaris did not own GEM in 2009. At that time iwas under Daimler Chrysler. Polaris took control in 2011. I worked for GEM in its early days when they where introduced in Fargo,ND.
I saw a car like that in Rome. Also I see no one was wearing a mask. Where I live we were the same. I'm in a very rural area. I guess you feel less fear the further you get from crowds.
I see you have stepped up the production values. Great work in this video. It feels so professional that it almost feels like an ad for the Kingston marina. TBH I think you have all the elements to be a pretty big RUclips channel, if you can put out ten minutes a week like this. Only thing I would change is your sunglasses. It seems silly but I don’t think they work, oh and more shots of the dog. Yes it’s totally pandering but people love to see the pets. One if the most fun shits was seeing the other boat going out with the dog. But I recognize the skill of operating the drone through town too. All in all, good stuff. And apologies if this seems inappropriate. I make video as a hobby, wish I could be doing what you’re doing on RUclips, so I’m only giving critiques to try and help, not be mean. Best wishes.
I agree the videos production is very good. I like them catty eyes glasses...it is very apparent MV Freedom likes labels and fashion. Elizabeth knows what looks good. The glasses are bueno.
@@mvfreedom Want to thank the two of you for these videos. I have a 25' Monterey Cruiser and it's every boat owners dream to get a bigger and better boat. Keep you the good work and continue to enjoy the sea. Fair weather and following seas.
In general, Puget Sound is a better boating destination than it is a sailing destination. But this time of year, we often do get a decent breeze. In the summer, when its warm, there is less wind. Kingston in particular is a pretty good place to sail since there is more wind in this part of the Sound, but Port Townsend at the entrance to the Sound is even better, because of access to the strait of Juan de Fuca.
Yes, be sure not to subscribe. And, of course, don't ever watch another one of their videos. They don't deserve you. In fact, you should boycott all "American" YT videos. We "Americans" need to be taught a lesson by all those superior world travelers from everywhere else.
Well I’ve been all around the world and while the southernmost of South America and Alaska give it competition, in terms of boating Seattle is pretty unique. New Zealand is up there too. So really she’s quite right.
Thanks for the T-bone scene that came out of nowhere...scared me good and gave me a good wakeup call. Jacques Cousteau called the Puget Sound his second favorite place in the world, that' means something coming from someone who's seen it all.
Ray the Harbor Master there and his crew are the best! We always use the electric car, love Kingston also.

Love that shot of Rainer with the boat! Epic.
Kingston is great, used to take the ferry up there for dinner sometimes.

9:33 And we thought the Brits were crazy riding on the right hand side .... In Kingston, our American neighbours ride backwards.

Do they still have that little car? We’re going to be there next weekend.
