Just found your series. If you do this the right way, the channel will grow itself. Persevere and don't be shy about asking for help from industry experts.
RUclips recommended me your latest video like 3 days ago and I’m so stoked to watch this whole series. Can’t believe you have like 5k subs with this production value. This channel deserves to blow the f*** up
I had always wondered why no one had properly done up the Ford V10, its got that sweet sweet even firing this will sound better than my car 🤣. Pretty much a big block Lambo, digging the build, will be here through the whole project. Keep up the good work, there is gonna be a lot of uphill battles but so rewarding once finished. 🏁
I was a maintenance guy for the state I live in, we had a box truck with the V10, it needed a muffler at one time but I swear it sounded vicious not really going anywhere 😆🐾✌️🇺🇸
I daily a 6.8 v10 it's actually fucking amazing. Do the proper maintenance, don't use motorcraft sparkplugs, and don't treat it like shit and it's been amazing, it's literally like owning a diesel that uses gas power. Pulls literally anything I've hooked it up to
I’ve put many miles on triton v10’s and never had major issues, but the power was always so disappointing, I wanted to do something similar after ford teased us with the 5.8 mustang v-10 and scrapped the project giving us blue (oval) balls! FINALLY!
Just found this channel and am going to binge watch this series. The Ford V10 is a great engine. I planned on swapping one into an off-road rig like an explorer sport...
I remember watching this a while ago. Now that im about to get my license and i found a few friends who are _almost_ as insane as i am, i think its almost time to do this to BOTH of mine. This is gonna be fun
6:15 I think it would be awesome if you guys could find something like a derilict Pantera chassis so you can run an equal length 10 to 1 header/ collector for all the sounds.
Nice, I have the 6.8 L 3 valve 375 HP in my Ford F350 Crewcab 4x4 Lariat Superduty. I really love this truck and the motor pulls our 8000lbs trailer no problem. Subbed to check out your progress. Cool beans!!
Gentlemen, finally someone is showing a real build! Cut and paste to make a V10 or V12. The Yamaha/Volvo 60 degree V8 is ideal for a V12 build but also requires block splice. I subbed before even hitting play lol.
@@garnerblair5179 That's the worst part of it, have to make a custom crank through Scat or something. V12 is straight rod journal and V6 runs offset journal.
LOTS of epoxy similar to what is used for port work on intake ports AND lots of align honing also possibly have a machine shop make a fixture similar to a torque plate to facilitate the constant rigidity while machining and welding. IT CAN BE DONE!! Anything can, how fast and how well is the only variable and that’s dependent only on you!
I feel like with your proof of concept it's not impossible to 3d print what you would need to make a low volume casting setup to make heads a bit easier!
Ford did build one of these back in 2000. It was 351 cid and went in a mustang. It was actually a prototype for the 05 ford gt. Unfortunately they opted for the supercharged 5.4 instead
Would it be possible to tig weld the two head halves together (for strength) and the oven braze to seal the oil and water passages, by using the capillary action of the aluminum brazing rod and flux?
Had a V10 pickup thing had lot of torque it was a gas hog I think it got about 8mpg. Back in those days diesel was lot cheaper everyone wanted the power stroke. Could find the V10 version cheap about 1/2 the cost this was around 2010 when gas spiked up to $4 a gallon.
Since the coyote is in the same modular family as the 4V. And also has a 100mm bore spacing. You think coyote heads would have also fit in the V10. i know they are like 2x more expensive that 4v heads. Just a thought that maybe someone else can chime in on.
Curious what that stock bottom end is good for. I just dropped a Mustang 2 k member into a first gen Chevy Sprint tin can. Working on the 8.8 rear end now. You should put your motor in there!
John Mihovetz prepped an oe 4.6 4V and ultimately made 3,000 hp on the Westech dyno. Oe block, B port heads, oe timing components . 5.88 @ 256mph. Still the quickest and fastest pass of any manufacturer with as many oe parts. FoMoCo is king
Awesome idea, you guys have the right attitudes. This will be fun to watch. But the repetitive music is going to drive us old guys away. I know it's cool and all, but you want to attract gear heads, that stuff makes it hard to stick to the end.
Where did you guys go to school to learn how to design and use the. Cads to make car parts I want to to finish my last three years I have in high school and go straight into a school to build stuff like this please let me know i would greatly appreciate it
@Angelo Ramos that’s awesome to have the desire to do this stuff! We recommend going to college and getting a bachelors in mechanical engineering. It will give you a lot of knowledge on fundamentals and theory. Find a school with a machine shop course. And most of all you will want a university that offers clubs like FSAE or BAJA. Get involved in one of those to really give you the hands on experience (and lots of stressful and late nights lol)
Not problem motors, not cheap, but definitely fun to mod! You should really have started with a true performance build! Then done the 4v and sandwiched them together? Work for the views dude!
Not yet, but we’re making good progress. You can watch all the other videos in the series to catch up! We just finished fabricating the custom intake 🙌🏽
Can you guys let me know what it would cost me to pay you guys to make me one of those v10 engines... I have a 6.8l that's been my baby for a very long time.
“These V10s are cheap” proceeds to spend orders of magnitude more money than the engine is worth and two years worth of their lives chasing and endearing but ridiculous dream 😂 I’m not mad at your efforts, I just don’t fully understand them
Kind of a stupid project. To do it right, you would really have to recast the head once you fit the two halves and make custom cams = $$$$$. But, you’ll probably cheap it by cutting grooves and fitting o-rings between the halves or simply glueing before welding which won’t hold up long term.
@@BrianHamilton-nv5jk how can that be pessimistic when I guessed correctly that not only did they weld it, but then they had to glue it because the welds failed. They should have had it recast in India for cheap. That would have made for a much better footage.
You All Laugh Because I'm Different.
I Laugh Because You're All The Same👍👍
That is a Good theme for this series of videos.
Now this is the kind of build that’s way more interesting than the typical LS, Coyote motor build. V10’s are exotic in my mind, love it.
Just found your series. If you do this the right way, the channel will grow itself. Persevere and don't be shy about asking for help from industry experts.
Here today, because you did it right. Congrats and great job!
Just got recommended the start up video, here for the back story 😂 Funny thing, this journey is only just beginning 🍿 I hope it works well 🙏
I had to come all the way back to the start so I can do you guys some justice. This stuff is epic.

Someone mentioned it in the deboss comments and here i am too.
They are actually GREAT engines for what they are... They are TRUCK engines. My current one has 341k and runs like a top....
You just got me.. Watched the later video's and just love the ambition. Now I'm starting the series from beginning.

Found you guys because of the shout out from Deboss Garage, looking forward to watching this engine build!
Love the boldness of the build, it certainly isn't straightforward. Make some equal length headers and make it sound like an LFA! :D
I think you guys are awesome to take on this project !!!
Get it done and race me. I am the dude with the 2v v10 swapped Capri. The Capri is totalled but I am close to prepping the Camaro.
Hey man! We know of your Capri videos! They were part of the inspiration for this build. When we get this thing going, you’re on! 💪🏽
Swapping a Ford motor into a Chevrolet platform???!!! Whaaa!!!??? That's awesome...now I'm going to check out your videos....

Super curious to see this through
Thanks for the comment! We will release the next video as soon as we finish up welding the heads. They are coming along! Stay tuned!
Yeah I was thinking about building a Honda V8 so is SWEET
Would it be possible to tig weld the two head halves together (for strength) and the oven braze to seal the oil and water passages, by using the capillary action of the aluminum brazing rod and flux?
That is a good idea and something we were going to try. But we didn’t have the tools to get the whole head hot enough to work.
Awesome content!

make a v10 boss 290 intake, maybe use a gasket between the cylinders
Weld the oil holes shut and add an external copper line to reconnect?
I journey from the future.....spoiler alert, it's running!😂😂
Ford used the name"Modular" meaning the ease of tooling and casting during building.

have the guys in Australia send you two Barra heads and modify those ?
That would be an awesome build! For this build though, we chose the 4.6L 4V heads because they are bolt in, after the welding.
