Absolutely and I'm looking forward to testing it out on a longer overnight trip to see how much I can get out of it. Makes it more fun too. Hope you are well and have been getting some good fishing done over summer.
Have also been considering buying an e-bike to get into the more remote areas of the Snowy’s in Australia - thanks for sharing your adventure Johan - love your relaxed style 🙏
Another one. Thanks so much for the support. It's extremely appreciated. Hope you find a good solution to get into the Snowy's. An e-bike might give you more options in terms of tracks you can go on. Let me know what you get in the end. Tight lines.
Hi Johan, nice to see you doing a bit of creative fishing. One of the best memories I have of combining transport and fishing was on horseback, I could stay in the saddle and fish from a nice high position. Everything was OK until I spooked the horse. Ouch! Like your bike, any chance of extending the range? Cheers mate. Harera
Oh a spooked horse in a river with a fly rod. Ouch indeed. Imagine landing them on horseback must have been a tad tricky too. I am planning to extend the range with a Bluetti EB3A portable power station that Ionready gave me for that reason. It's light enough to stick in my backback and should give me another 5-10km extra which is all I need as a safety net for my next trip, which is 24km return. Looking forward to giving that a go. I also believe that this bike can get a 21Ah battery which should give it 40km or more but I have only seen that in an online review. I think it's well suited to something like a hunting camp with tracks leading out, especially if you can charge it overnight at camp. It's much more quiet than a quad or normal dirt bike, which should be helpful for hunting farm tracks and such.
Hi Johan, great expectations! I look forward to the upcoming videos, sounds very exciting. As for getting a fish out of water whilst on a horse, well there is the groom come bodyguard and the local equivalent of the Ranger. Cheers mate. Harera
What a classic mate! Nice idea 👍🏼 doesn't look like you're ripping up the river like those enduro riders on my trip 😂 awesome the supplier has come to thr party on this too, well done
Haha, yeah, not really a river crossing one this, but I thought you would find it funny and also that I got cleaned out by a boat 🤣. This is not far from where you were camping. Same river.
@@CrazyAboutFlyFishing oh no the boat - gotta laugh!! Nice vid. Cheers for sharing the locale I wouldn't have guess that. It's a lot fishier lower down. Snow on the hills here and about to camp out and fish 🧊😳🏞️🏕️
@CrazyAboutFlyFishing I am looking at getting one of these and was wondering how much do you weigh with and without your gear so I have an idea if this would be a good fit for me? Appreciate the video!
Hi Drew I am about 75kg. Around 10kg of gear. If you look at my latest video you will see both me and my 22kg 7yo son with gear as well on it. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Epic edit mate!!! Very quick and punchy cuts with a calm intro. That edirk bike looks epic!!!!! Have to grab the ebike and come for a mission with ya some time 🤜🤛
@@CrazyAboutFlyFishing I have a light bee x. Sadly there isn't much fishing spot in Jakarta for me to put the bike in good use like what u did. U r very lucky man....!
@@CrazyAboutFlyFishing well Im basing in Jakarta. Nearest freshwater spot is an hour away and its a like within a small town. Take a car there and no bike neeeded further. As for marsheer... That is long way from where I am. And no track even for walking into the jungle, got to use canoe. Bike .... Ah a... Not applicable!
@topperqfishing ah I see. Well canoe in the jungle sounds fun. Looks like you do plenty of saltwater. Looks fun and hope you enjoyed your NZ trip. Tight lines and thanks for watching the video.
Yes it's New Zealand. Not stripping, dead drift. I only strip to remove excess slack and keep in contact as it drifts downstream. Hope that makes sense. Tight lines.
They told me rain, dew and puddles are ok, just don't submerge it. It got splashed pretty thoroughly on this trip and it still works fine. I took the battery out and washed it with the hose fully as well and still working. I think it's mainly the connection with the battery that can't get too wet. Still I don't go on trips like this in bad weather cause rivers here rise very quick and you can either get stuck or in big trouble with high or flooded rivers so I only go with a clear forecast for at least 2 days either side of my trip.
@rossi8123 I am just borrowing it at the moment to test and make some videos. Just did another trip today. Much tougher terrain. The video should be out soon, hopefully less than a week so keep an eye out for it. It did very well in spite of crazy terrain, mud, water, fallen trees and steep clay hills. Well past what it is made for. So wait for that video and have a look.
Have a look the recent video where I fly fish and bow hunt with my son. We use it a lot on the hunting part of the trip and I plan to be using it on another bow hunting trip soon and the new fishung season opens soon for fishing and I have some trips planned. I still love it and I am trying to get hold of a second battery as one battery does not get me more than 15 to 20kms depending on how steep and rough the terrain is unless I have a place to charge it. If you can charge it at night then its great. E.g. the hunting place had power as does the one I am going to go to soon so I can hunt all day then charge it at night to hunt again the next day. Works well. Hope that helps. Also I thinj Kugoo may have stopped making them as far as I heard if that matters to you.
It's been absolutely fine after both those trips. Nothing broke. Build is decent so I think it will last a while. My only worry for what I do is that it's not fully weather sealed so the battery shouldn't get soaked. It rains a lot here and as you see in the video pretty wet so I am worried about damaging thr battery. But with the battery out I have fully pressure washed it twice with no issues. So it's just the battery that isn't sealed and the connections to it. Otherwise a great fun bike.
Nope. Offroad I only ever did about 20km/h and I once briefly went about 35km/h on a road. Specs say it should be able to do 50km/h but I have never tried it. It's not relevant for me. I only use it for accessing spots and it's faster than my skill level will allow me to go. Probably not a bike you would want if speed is really important.
Yup, had it out yesterday for another video and it got a lot more wet. It's still running this morning after all of that and being washed with the hose fully (with the battery out) twice now. It seems the only parts not waterproof are the battery and the the two connections to it (power and charging port). But those are high up and apprears ro be well protected from water splash going through even deep puddles and mud. Saying that it's not made for what I did with it yesterday (huge deep puddles and bog mud) but just mud and dirt and shrubs and stuff no issues. Don't know about heavy rain though, I think that could soak into places it shouldn't go but also a bit of temporary silicone should prevent issues. Watch the next vid and you will see what I mean. Feel free to email me from my website and I can give you my number if you want to chat about it in detail.
I never tested top speed. I am not an experienced rider. There is a review online with all the specs and speed tests. Fastest I went briefly on a short stretch of road with a nearly flat battery is about 35kmph. That's at the end of the second video if you haven't watched it yet.
