I was taught housekeeping chores as a punishment and a degradating job, so I never really enjoyed them, and as a result I was either miserable in a dirty house, or miserable in a clean house due to feeling I had done something wrong. Content creators like Rajiv or Auri Katarina have rewired my brain into finding them joyful and peaceful, so now my house can be clean without me feeling miserable about it, and actually enjoy the process and the results. I'm glad I found them, because my life is a bit brighter.

It may seem trivial to learn how to clean a sink, but I believe they should put your videos as a long term course in schools(as well as doing the taxes, saving money, investing,...). No one ever taught us to do laundry, wash dishes or everything else, etc. and we often learn them by trial and error and most of us do these chores in a wrong way our whole life.

    • @jgirldo2691

You have a good point. My mother had all girls and taught us everything she knew. Even our great grandmother and grandmother gave my sisters and I tips on cleaning, cooking and keeping a guest worthy house. My husband and I have one son and we taught him everything like making a bed, cooking, grocery shopping, and the importance of keeping his room and bathroom clutter free and neat. He learned how to do the laundry and even work in the yard and wash a car. On one occasion he went with some friends on vacation and at the end if the stay began cleaning up the rental home. His friends started calling him Martha Stewart after that and still use the moniker Martha now and again as a jibe. His girlfriend tells us that he's the best partner and shares all of the responsibilities of housekeeping, shopping and cooking with her. So at the least he has learned the importance of being a good partner. We also felt it was our responsibility to teach him fiscal responsibilities and brought him to the bank at a very early age to open his first savings/checking account. We taught him how to complete a deposit slip for his tooth fairy and birthday money. Then how to withdraw money and write a check to purchase something he wanted. We later taught him the pros and cons of debit cards. I have forwarded many of Rajiv's videos to our son to let him know how cool it is to be a successful, self-sufficient and creative guy. I hope Rajiv reach is far and wide and keeps expanding because what he is teaching, sharing and saying on his channel will make a difference in the lives of the younger generation. And...old girls like me just love everything about this dude!

When I came down to breakfast the next morning, one of the nuns wrote on the white board "to the angel who cleaned the sink, deep gratitude!". It is super powerful and cleans my oven incredibly well. It blasts off the grime. I don't allow the water to build up and mop it up immediately, but I've never used anything that's better. Then, if there are little pieces of crud, I'll use Barkeeper's Friend to get those off. I highly recommend a steam cleaner for those really tough jobs. (Oh and you can't believe how clean it gets windows...just don't use it in cold weather or it might break the glass.)

I use it to clean my enameled dutch oven when it gets stained. You can use it to clean your oven racks and even the inside of the oven door if you don't scrub too hard, just make a thinnish solution of it and spread it over the door and let the oxalic acid do its thing. Amazing stuff.

YES!!! When I worked in restaurants, I always dried the sink after washing it at the end of a shift--it gave such a wonderful sense of closure to the evening. I have to admit I don't do it at home, but Rajiv's video has inspired me to go back to the sink-drying ritual. I am really enjoying these beautiful videos and the comments from others who have been inspired by them.

I always use Barkeeper's Friend &/or Bon Ami. Once or twice a week I'll put baking soda and white vinegar down all my drains to help keep them fresh and clog free. Thanks for a great video. We always expect the unexpected with Rajiv. That's why we love him 👍

Baking soda, vinegar, then boiling water. I know I’m genX, but my mother was a NUT. I just did this 2 days ago in the kitchen & 1st floor half bath cuz boys. They see it, they love the results. Kills drain flies. Saves money. Thank you for validating me. I will be buying BKF. I been using harsh cleanser on stainless steel sink but I do clean the drain traps & replace them. I do not have beautiful ones like Rajiv!

Honestly I can clean my whole house with just: Dawn, Bar Keepers, bleach and Mrs Meyers (for aromatherapy). I’ve tried to find alternative to bleach, but haven’t had any luck. Most alternatives don’t get things white enough or damage my clothes.

It’s so inspiring to watch someone clean. He is the male Martha Stewart. I take one more step. During the night I leave the stopper off so that the drain can dry as much as possible.

Growing up, my grandfather drilled it into me to keep the sink clean! When I moved into my first apartment, it was one of the first cleaning products I picked up. It cleaned out a lot of the rust stains the previous tenant left behind on the appliances. This video was so soothing to watch!

Thank you Rajiv. I have been using barkeepers friend for over 20 years. I started using it when our house had a porcelain kitchen sink and my pots and pans would leave gray scuff marks. It removed them effectively. The owner of the home we were renting couldn’t believe how beautiful her sink was when we moved out. It broke my heart when barkeeper’s friend became exclusive to RH, but I am so glad to see it back in my local grocery store.
