Last time I was up there was 38 years ago 😲 (I've been to Tenerife plenty of times since, just not up the mountain) (Mainly the Los Gigantes area) How time flies...Enjoy your holiday 👍
@@Banditmanuk We stayed at the nearest apartment building overlooking the Los Gigantes cliffs and harbour. (It's private residence appartments now) The cliffs looked amazing from our balcony. Then, I booked a scuba diving trip, and I surfaced facing those cliffs...then I realized the difference between a photo from a distance, and witnessing something with your own eyes right up close. A photo from afar can never really portray the scale of things. Don't get me wrong, I cherish all of my photos and videos....but sometimes the 'image' in your head is far better than any photo. All my holidays back then were 'economy' 🤣
First time up Teide was back in early ‘90s. Went up the cable car with my youngest daughter who would have been 12 yrs old. I suffer with asthma and was struggling to breath and walk while she was skipping and running around 😂
Lucky you, looking forward to seeing some great scenic videos. I did the cable car up there once and the view is nothing short of spectacular, are those paths up there still ankle breakers 😂
It's 3600 metres or getting close to 12,000 ft. We drove to the base of the cable car station at 2400 metres, cable car to 3555 metres so not too much hard walking. Air was noticeably thinner up there.
so not much lower than Pike's Peak...TommyG had some difficulty with altitude sickness up there...in addition to HD sickness because his hydraulic clutch quit on him lol@@Banditmanuk
At 3600 metres the air definitely has a lower oxygen content. A short walk up hill and you definitely know it. Highest point in Spain & Spanish Islands
It might be very brown there guys but for me it would be riding heaven and I don't like green anyway so perfect , it will never happen but ohh I would luv to ride there on a bike 👍
No we didn't use them. They are based in Gran Canaria, we were on Tenerife. We booked booked a Jet2 package and hired bikes independently from Easy Rider Tenerife. Security deposit was €1200 per bike. If you're thinking of using Canary Motorcycle Tours, they are good but only offer group rides led by Martin or Jose. They are based in Vecindario GC. Their lock up is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the hotel they use. Best to contact them directly for details of their insurance excess. This time we want to do our own thing and ride wherever we want. Canary Motorcycle Tours won't just hire you a bike. If you're going on your own and don't know the area/roads I do recommend going with Canary Motorcycle Tours. We've used them 5 times and consider them friends. (They are English)
Wow, stunning view, very jealous, it looks gorgeous.
We love it there 👍
That's a beautiful Blue view.
We love the island of Tenerife
Beautiful 🤩 ❤
Where is the snow and cold rain? As long as you bring us along we won't be too jealous. 😄
😂😂 It was only about 8C near the top of the volcano

We stopped in Los Gigantes last time. Gone a little more economy this time close to the airport.

We walked to the very top of teide. Fantastic views, smell of sulphur not so good. 😂. Much nicer there than the drizzle back in Devon!
It's an amazing experience. We didn't go right to the top though

I could breath ok stood still but was surprised how out of breath I got walking uphill.
Still nice to see at least once in your life
Hi just looking high that is started my cold off I wouldn’t be able to get a quarter of the way up that one enjoy 👍🏍️👍
Well we did get some help with a cable car 😳
Beautiful up there isn't it. We were the same, breathless at that altitude
Yep, we were a little surprised at the altitude affects but glad we did it
@@Banditmanuk We were too. I'm just watching your other tenerife videos 👍
@tojjer29 Blimey I'll be a millionaire from the ad revenue soon 🤥

They certainly are. We took the cable car but even climbing slightly higher to the view points left me short of breath. Amazing clear day
Is the breathlessness the attitude or the age 😂 have a great week guys .
@@bolton737 Both but feeling fine but the pool at sea level 😉
@@Banditmanukthank goodness for that 😂👍
What an absolutely stunning view!! What is the elevation there? Did you hike to the top? How long did that take?

This is high. The air there is for sure fresh. Did it affect your breathing?

@@BanditmanukSure. Even at 2000 it is quite different. Take care. Cheers.

We do hire bikes👍👍 It's like a prefect sunny British summer here every day.
@@Banditmanuk Soooo jealous guys 🤢😂👍
Majestic! Oxygen tanks please.😀😀
That is quite a place. Jealous...
The Canaries are a great winter destination 👌
Are you using canary motorcycle tours?
Is your accommodation far from their base?
What is the insurance excess they charge?
Thanks
