Bonus points for honesty 😜🤪🤗 That said, you're underselling your work and the impact it was having.... but quitting is where you make the call. When you're being quoted on US National news channels it's not because of hitting on women; it's because of the political impact the street interviews were exposing. Real "journalism".
I left a thumbs up, but i am afraid that you wont find any interesting topics. Am I interested in; 'hey baboushka, how do you come around with your retirement?" No.
No, this was not about ordinary interviews, it was about the people and their behaviour, how they replied which means their faces, their reactions without knowing the language. We could see what attitude they had for or against your and the question it was a mirror of the society and you also found a balance to ask a second time politely or with a smile that sometimes you got answers of even those who did not wanna say what the had said in the first moment. Or you had chosen a more direct way to ask again , a more pushing one. But I can understand if you feel bored somehow cause you get for sure 90 times a uniform answer like from a child in school 2+2 = Lenin or whatever they would be trained to reply, just to get those 2 answers you can present to us like those voters who found the courage to say that there is no choice or democracy and that they voted against Putin. Maybe you start it from the other side like ask me anything, but for your interviews: What do you want me to ask russian citizens ? And from all those question you simply choose where you think it would be fun again to go out and ask people. So not like an obligation that you have to ask for these questions. If you might not know how to deal with that, then choose the best 10 questions you think would be worth to be asked and modiy it in such a way that they make sense to be asked in russia to foreigners to get a good reply. And if you had found 10 most promissing or even challenging answers then ask the communiy for a their opinion or put 4 questions in a poll, then the next 4 poll but for each poll a simililar distribution that not your best 4 questions would end in 1 poll and beat each other I guess people will love the kind of interaction and you have no obligation for anything, but you might find questions you never had thought about. If you think about germany then you might think maybe 90% christians, but that is not true cause eastern germany had no religion at all during communism and then thousands left the church and became agnostic when the abuse scandals became public over and over again. That's why I wonder how many people believe in the russian orthodox god / way. I have no clue, could check wikipedia, which would then most likely divicde the big russian country and what so ever ethnicities and religion, but you could form whatever question out of it what makes sense to get a replay or a broad variety. I do not even know if people would talk about it or if russians simply do not talk about religion due to Marx "religion is the opium for the people" if I remember right, but who knows if that has become a part of russian communism and if that had stayed after the collapse of the soviet union. Good luck and all the best for your "journey as an (street) interviewer" which by the way is a job here to make a living - even though with a structured questionaire for the marketing or image campaigns.
Historic is really the word! Don't stop 1420 Daniil! First - You are recording history, and at an important time! All of those insights you are getting will be studied for centuries to come. Secondly - Even though it may seem trivial to you, for us (would say most of the rest of the world), after WW2 Russia/Soviets got behind the "wall" and did not make part of our lives in Europe that much, we knew you existed, expected you to get along in the "prosperous/free" way that we where going, and we knew that you had a lot of resources, and that in general you were a powerful country, but not that much about your culture, way of thinking, your intentions, what moves you, etc. I know tons much more about the Checz, Poles, and all the baltic than about Russia, so your channel is gold! May it seem boring to you, it's an important insight into your culture...and already recorded in the hall of history ;)
I live in Russia and the police came to me about my posts on the Internet criticizing the war. I have no doubt that Daniel is under even greater pressure. To all foreigners who are reading this, I want to say THANK YOU. Remember that we in Russia are under serious pressure.
@@MsAmesWickif so, it will be free because it’s people will have woken up… because outside help is not coming. But I do not see russians getting political again… this is not 1917.
What a pathetic explanation. I did find your street interviews interesting, and was hoping to see more, but clearly you have been influenced to stop, and for some reason you are indirectly apologizing? If you have a secret passage out of Russia, I would take it now. Clearly you will be "mobilized" and sent to your death in Ukraine if you remain. You offered some little hope that young Russians were willing to speak freely about your terrorist government, unfortunately the risk must be greater than the reward.
We get so furious with the inhuman actions of the russian military, that we often forget that russia has many people who do not support this garbage at all. They were the ones chanting “Нет войне” (“no to war”) when it started. Many of them are still in russia, and still do not support putin or his ridiculous war. It has been GREAT to see this through Daniil’s eyes. I am grateful we got over two years of this, it is now part of the historical record. The fact that SO MANY OTHER CHANNELS use clips of his videos illustrates just how crucial they’ve been to getting the word out about how so many uncounted russians feel, genuinely. It took bravery on the part of those being interviewed, but especially of Daniil Orain. Regardless of his true reason(s) for quitting, I wish him well. He is a talented young man with a lot to offer. His talents could best be put to use in a creative role, perhaps in TV or film.
I remember the reaction of 2 old ladies being interviewed by a sunny day in Moscow. 1) astonished by the question. 2) both ladies looked at each other. 3) one of these old ladies said: you shouldn't ask such questions young man.
@@SerenityMae11 He is Russian. Instead of conscription, wealthy Russian young men and women can serve their country by attending the MGIMO. He graduated, thus his old account has been retrieved and achieved for further analysis. Now he is currently working for "some entity" as a journalist/ empty talking head. Read between the lines, he will tell you in this interesting and monitored video. His want to become a journalist is strong. One thing he does lack in if he wishes to send information to the outside world is his lack of steganography. He isn't good at all.
Daniel is 1000x more brave than I could ever be, sitting here in the safe, comfortable West where I don't have to fear I will be arrested for anything I say.
The reason we watched 1420 is simply to understand what the normal people of Russia are thinking. It may not be so interesting for you anymore, but it was maybe the last “journalism” in Russia for the non Russian crowd, and by stopping, you are killing that last voice behind the curtain, no matter if it is Putin babushka or a student, that obviously lie how he likes Putin and “how s/he is not political” ;)
I used to subscribe to his channel, but unsubscribed after a short time. That was his other channel, not this one. Saw him once live stream and found it childish. That’s when I unsubscribed. And it looks like putin got to him also. I’m suspecting he’s getting a little worried he’s ending up on the front lines.
This is exactly why everyone liked your interviews, pure journalism at ground level. Yes it does get boring after a while. Hopefully you'll find strength to carry on to deliver political news and opinions of everyday people. It is interesting for rest of the world
According to this Video Daniil IS a useless Girl Chaser and wanabe journalist and His viewers are paranoid and stupid. That IS the opinion of the Russian Secret Service, so it's Not difficult to See WHO wrote this speech.
Bro.... I wish I thought you were joking... My guy did so much. I can understand how he feels and the way he explains sentiment towards doing the interviews, but... ye, Yvan probs standing off right u.u
Yo, might be wrong, he's still doin' some brave vids on this new channel Mad respect to this lad for doing more with his short life so far than I have in all of mine. ~a random canadian subscriber dude
I was thinking the same thing 😂 Why would someone stop the thing that gets him the most views , because he is not going away from youtube as a job clearly.
I think that he made this video to cover his tracks as he is starting to become more scared and threatened by the authorities. Maybe they didn’t force him to make it but I feel like he is trying to act his way out of the mess that has been made.
The street interviews helped western people understand that Russians hold a wide a range of ideas and opinions but many are unwilling to share them honestly with a camera. People hiding behind their propaganda and cognitive dissonance were obviously different from the true believers. You helped fight mindless uninformed western prejudice against Russia. For that alone you should be thanked by both sides. I look forward to your next project.
Russians are highly masking proud chauvinists. They will go on and on about wise "russian literature " then say stuff like - everyone is in fact russian inside and we are both great conquerors and indigenous people on newly occupied land at the same time. Never trust them.
Yes, I learned a lot also. Don’t always like what I learned, but I thank you for your interviews. Look forward to your next endeavor. Nice jacket man!!
These are not Daniil's words. He is obviously under threat making this video. And now that he has made the video I hope he does not disappear on Putin's orders.
It would be best for russia to just leave him alone. No benefit to “silencing” him forever, he had a nice project - and it’s come to an end, and I’m honestly surprised it didn’t happen sooner. Russia needs creative minds like his… not necessarily to benefit putin, but for other things. There will always be a need for creative thinkers, and I imagine many of the ones they had before the war are now pushing up sunflowers in Ukraine. So, he has plenty of potential to do work that is beneficial for the people.
Seriously guys... if he was arrested by FSB do you really think the FSB would have forced Daniil to make an epilogue/explanation video 😅 ? No. The FSB would have seized his hard drives, and throw him in jail for a few years. Basta. Daniil is free in Georgia. Not forced by anyone.
Don't sell yourself short. The 1420 channel interviews have been showcased many times on other platforms. I can understand that the content was boring to produce over time, but we paid attention, took notes, and formed opinions based on that content, and that's what is important. Strong work!
@@movement2contact The humilation of himself and His viewers Proofs IT IS fake: according to the Video we are stupid and paranoid and He IS a useless Girl Chaser. I am Sure that the Russian Secret Service thinks that of US and him.

@@john-toregundersen2655 No, I don't think that russian authorities/agents are only in Russia. But what I think is that the average russian caught criticising Putin's Regime or the war in Ukraine on the internet is very likely to end up in jail if denounced (it doesn't cost much) while living in Russia. On the other hand, sending a FSB team to a foreign country to "silence" a 23 years old russian youtuber is very unlikely. Too expensive for a kid who's not much of a threat to Russia abroad (it's not like he's starting a revolution with other young dissidents in Russia) Be realistic. That answer goes also for @jacobfrederick3614 Daniil can continue speaking about LGBT rights in Russia, as long as he's abroad, he will be safe because it's too much trouble for too little of a threat. The deserter soldier in Spain was a different story. He could have divulged classified information.

and at the same time i totally understand him. youtube for one is full of dating gurus, movie reactioners etc. who repeat the same words and things over and over and over and over. some people are pointing it out and mocking them or begging them to do something else. then we have someone like orig Rolfe who has also stated his passions are now elsewhere than AVGN. i mean daniils videos for long have been an echo chamber in itself where just by looking at the title i know 50% say cant comment or not interested in topic, 45% say putin is hero and theres usually that 1 person who goes on to rant about how everything sucks. its like sure people still investigate WW2 but we all know the basic gist of it from any old book. sure in a year or 2 things might change but now its like milk factory making the same old same old.
The background looks like either the back garden of the Russian embassy in Tiblisi or a nearby square. Very strange for Danill to suddenly understate and undermine his work of the last 4 years which has had such a sub stantial following and positive and important impact
Would be good to have that checked and confirmed. If that's the case, they probably gave him the choice of leaving Russia, and they "suggested" he made this video so his family back in Russia would be unharmed.
As the war started you videos helped me understand that there is way more support for by the people than i thought. But it also showed that there were decent and kind people among the russisn population. And for this i am deeply grateful. You did great and i wish you all the best from Germany for your own future and the future of your channel.
I also started watching because I was thinking how the hell are Russians okay with what Putin is doing..?! And gradually I saw either the disengagement, the sense of hopless powerlessness, the fear of stepping out of line or the total ignorance and fragile puffed up pride of the brainwashed who just don't know anything beyond the nightly TV propaganda. I began to understand they arent like us... because they live in a very different society, with very different experiences and expectations. I began to see most people, even those who expressed the vilest ideas, as victims of a kind of repression that most in the West can't imagine, not just a physical freedom but a mental freedom. I detest Putin all the more for it... he's robbed these people not just of the wealth of their natural resources but of a proper sense of self and freedom to develop their full potential with a peaceful and prosperous future.

This comment is the reason why I don't like Daniil's work. Do you know that opinion polls just don't work in authoritarian countries? Especially on camera like Daniil is doing? The most people who against the war just don't participate in such kind of polls. So it's basically pointless and gives false perception about mood of common russian people. By the way I very recommend you to google name Yuri Kokhovetz, the guy who gave a comment for Radio Svoboda.
Bro wtf, those interviews where so original and i as a european citizenwas so interesting to see a different mindset see how ruzzians think and that they are not all the same. Its very interesting trust me, u gonna be a legend after the putler fall and freedom wins.
You can see that this guy is under pressure. Really sorry bro, hope you survive. Of course he’s denying it, just like most Russian who are against the war.
I found it interesting that he talks about "chicks" but I had him down as being gay for some reason...which I know Kremlin do not approve and have medieval attitude. Is there two birds in one stone from the Kremlin in this video?
Seriously guys... if he was arrested by FSB (KGB was replaced by FSB in 1991) do you really think the FSB would have forced Daniil to make an epilogue/explanation video ? No. The FSB would have seized his hard drives, and throw him in jail for a few years. Basta. There would be no need for an explanation video 😂 Russia doesn't care what the rest of the world think.
Oh, I think most of us here understand that this was probably forced. The FSB has a habit of scaring dissenters to the point that when they are visited by representatives of the russian government, they are terrified to the point where they have to make an insincere “apology” video. This video by Daniil is clearly what that was, although less apology and more “this is the real reason I quit doing this”. Let’s just let him off the hook, he’s done so much. Perhaps to a super-creative mind like his, this was the best way to get off the hook with the government. He says he’s done, then I believe him - he’s done. That’s it. Time to move on. Good luck to you in your future projects, Daniil! Thanks for making videos that remind us NOT to hate every russian. Cheers. 🥃
@@Rocket_scientist_88that’s what I think. He is trying to cover his tracks and make it out like he’s changed and is no longer a danger to the fsb, arresting him would no longer be worth it for them. It’s forced yes but forced because he’s scared and wants to move on.
The fact that 1420 has over half a million subscribers is something to be really proud of! But I get what you are saying about the interviews getting redundant. Good luck with your future endeavors, I know I’ll be watching!
I don't believe Daniil is telling us the truth here. I think he has been threatened and forced to stop these interviews. It doesn't make sense, what he says. He never went out of his way to talk to pretty girls. Not all old people were pro-Putin or even pro-USSR. He is a journalist, and was being featured on CNN etc. Him wearing sunglasses also strongly suggests he's not being entirely forthcoming here. I don't blame him - I'm amazed he was able to do this for as long as he did, and I'm grateful for the insights he provided. He humanized a lot of Russians at a time when we could be forgiven for thinking they were all bloodthirsty orcs. He also helped make me realise that a lot of unlikeable Russians are victims of Putin too. Thanks for your work, Daniil - and do what you need to do to stay safe. 🙏💯
Exactly my thoughts, though I can imagine him starting interviews before the war was to gain confidence talking to people including in talking to girls. What he produced was valuable and treasured.
@@tarunarya1780 No judgment here, but one's gaydar strongly intuits that he's not into girls. Of course I could be completely wrong. That claim of his made me more suspicious - like he was told to say that.
I'm not sure why people like you are surprised. He asked too many people to the point you'll easily see the pattern most of the time. Older people like Putin, younger don't. Older people prefer status quo over things like LGBTQ and other stuff. Not fun to keep hearing the same opinions everytime.
@@spellbrand477 Yeah I actually stopped regularly watching over a year ago because it got to the point where every interview had the same responses. Eventually you just run out of topics to ask people about and keep getting interesting responses! All these wacko american conspiracy theorists in the comments is insane. Russia's not even a little bit like all the horrors you imagine in North Korea. I lived there for half a year on a study abroad and it's really not that different from the US. You'd think the interviews could have helped the American viewership realize that the two countries really aren't that different, but some people just can't get over the propaganda they're fed and will believe anything. smh.
@@user-deevt Well, it is not what you you are suggesting a bit simplistic though? Besides the fact that perhaps your experience in Russia dates back a few years. As a matter of fact, currently it is not a country where one can openly protest without repercussions. The judiciary is not indipendent from the political establishment. And competition at political level is non existent. Of course, if you do not protest, keep your mouth shut and get on living your life, it is not a very different place than most. Same can probably be said for North Korea, or China. However, things might be changing. For many years Putin was happy with a 60% of the population getting on with stuff and being left alone, provided they were not politically active they had the guarantee that their body and security would be respected. Now there is a chance that he might need to move towards a more totalitarian approach.
@@yyyy12344 You ask, "What interesting topics are left to discuss?" I assume you mean if one excludes the questions already asked about attitudes towards Ukraine and Russian war crimes. How about Global climate change and its impact on Russia, rapid population decline and its impact on Russia, what caused so much flooding and heating failure in Russia's major cities, events in Israel/Palestine, trade with China, venereal disease epidemic, long-term Covid, which US presidential candidate would be better for Russia, independence movements within the Russian Federation, food prices, what does "Russky Mir" actually mean, is Kyril a legitimate leader of the Russian Orthodox church, what about other religions within the Russian Federation, what's your opinion on abortion, will AI take over the world, dependence on China, relationship with North Korea, relationship with India, internet trolls, access to the Baltic Sea, Chinese shortage of women and whether Chinese men could take Asian-Russian war-widows as brides, differences or common ground between European Russia and Asian Russia, alcoholism, drug addiction, domestic violence, the impact of bribery on social mobility, Russian industry versus imports, mass Boomer retirement and new job openings for younger but smaller generations, the bombing of Russian territory (both from Ukraine and from Russia's own accidents) Putin's age and who will replace him since he's not immortal, name ten significant differences between the East and the West, green technology versus the petroleum industry, what kind of future do you prepare your children for, etc. And that's just off the top of my head.
If it is “healthier” for you to stop, then do it. I grew up in the GDR and I understand why. And I understand your attempt to explain it. Many people here, especially people from the West, really believe that you quit of your own free will. They never experienced the system.
I didn't grow up in GDR but lived in DDR before during and after the wall fell. It's very sad that there are now people being forced back into repression in Russia after a small taste of freedom that people in now former GDR can now enjoy in relative security.
This completely has the vibe of a hostage video where the poor guy is forced to say what he is told to say. (And where what he says seems completely out of character.) A typical tactic of authoritarian states and dictatorships. Daniil, you may find some consolation in knowing that many around the world support you and appreciate you, and we see through it. Of course, the point may be that we'll see through it. That's how intimidation works in these regimes.

His purposeful video steganography is over the top with his body language and hidden wording. He attempted to convey to the ones outside of Russia who understand his position that he has graduated the Institute and is now working as a talking head journalist in Russia. He is far from broken or for that fact,,, broke. He is an elitist born in training for the new and improved Russia 2.0. It is what it is.
@@Paulusmus Putin does not consider himself a villain, but rather a patriarchal guardian. I honestly believe he cares about the supremacy of the educated Russian and would be interested in enabling the 2.0 campaign showing a better Russia. Putin projects strength, and rightly so. The fact that he went out of his way right at the beginning to stress that the KGB or FSB had nothing to do with his decision says it all. He was told exactly what to say, and you could see by his body language that he said it under duress. I got a growing bad feeling about it the longer I watched this short video. Also, the look off camera he gives at 5:12 right at the end of the video is telling. I saw fear.

Was Daniil approached and explained by "certain men" that the street interviews are "not interesting"? This is the only explanation as it makes no sense otherwise. These interviews are so interesting to the world audience that they had to make a small fortune on this channel. Such a decision is weird without any external influence...
the contribution to journalism you made is invaluable , priceless , heroic - that will never go away -. It will define you in the future as a hero Daniil to many many people in the world.
1420 helped me to still see Russian people as people, no matter what goes on in the war, or even what their personal views happened to be. It's too easy to just see the anonymous war machines on both sides, and forget the people.
Russia is more than free (give examples of “not freedom”) The war of the West against Russia did not weaken it even economically, but on the contrary united people among themselves due to external aggression, and the country is multinational and the enemies are trying to create discord between different people on the basis of religion, appearance and language, but the strength of the Russian Federation lies precisely in the fact that the peoples inhabiting it were not suppressed and did not “Russify”, preserving their culture and language and freedom. Regarding Ukraine, it was the United States that staged an armed coup there, overthrowing the elected president, killed the military and removed all the judges, and then went with weapons against those who did not accept the coup, starting to kill Russians in their own cities in the east of Ukraine, take the same Lugansk, it was founded by Catherine 2 and built factories there for the war with Napoleon, a typically Russian city with a Russian population, which ended up in Ukraine during the collapse of the USSR (although people voted for preserving the USSR, in the same Crimea there was a referendum on staying with the Russian Federation during the collapse of the USSR, all they didn’t give a damn about it) so by killing Russians, banning their language and promoting NATO in these cities and throwing the Black Sea Fleet out of Crimea and the Black Sea, how could there be any other reaction other than war? everyone knew this, and that we see at the head of the war the same people who carried out the coup d'etat - the USA and Western countries supplying weapons, but the Russian Federation is to blame and it is not free, so it should fall apart into free pieces, lubricate the anus with cream and sit peacefully, nothing missed it?
Daniil, thank you for everything from just me personally, in the UK. I know that theres a bit of a running commentary in this section, some jokes some serious about any pressure that you may or may not be under from the authorities in Russia. All I will say though is that it was great to get the Russian peoples various perspectives on different issues, especially with whats going on now. If the authorities are reading this message, to you I will say that this channel was a positive thing. We saw the good humanity of everyone, even if they had different views. This is a positive beacon for future hope as it ultimately brings us all closer together, which means we can hopefully find common ground and in turn lasting peace. Thanks Daniil, now stay out of trouble! ;)

Danii, you're a brave, smart young man who knows to "control" his tongue on delicate topics without getting arrested. I have no formula for you to continue, but you provided a lot of good information "behind the wall" of Russia.
You've done your share, Daniil, and you have done so much good! I've many times thought of how truely brave you are. I have learned so much from your great videos. Things I could not have learned if it was not for you. Thank you so much ✌🙏
They got to him imo. The views these interviews were getting were awesome, and they were bringing in good revenue. I'm sure the authorities contacted him and told him to stop.
If this was true...he would be in provisory jail waiting for a trial, and then end up spending a few years in jail. He would not do an explanation interview. Did you watch his new videos? "Liberal is an offensive word in Russia" "New wave of journalists arrests in Russia" If he was taken by the FSB he would not be allowed to publish those either ! And once again he would be in jail, not outside in the sun. He's in Georgia, not in Russia anymore. I have the feeling he won't go back..(and he shouldn't)
I am from England. I found your interviews really interesting and very useful. It was important work, allowing foreigners to "talk to" ordinary Russians. Thank you for doing them. Like many others, I was worried about what had happened to you. I will folllow your new chanel with interest. Good luck.
I benefited from watching your street interviews. I saw you speak with some human beings, some not-so-human, but still having human form. You're a brave soul. May you succeed in your search for truth and freedom, if these are what you seek.
Makes sense. On our side, at some point, we've seen it all, and on your side, it's not worth the hassle anymore. And as a nice side effect, I'm glad I have to worry less about you (you got bolder and bolder with time). Do whatever you like most and what works for you, I'm in (and subbed). Good luck!
You were doing a good job. You were engaging with the market place of ideas. You were actually doing a better job than a lot of journalists. You were letting people speak, instead of "reinterpreting" their words in a narrative. You did good work.
Dear Daniel, You are very pleasant person. The only thing I miss about interviews in the street, is that one get to see and hear, different kinds people, everyone with his/her way of thinking, and places they live, work or study. I appreciated them for stopping for few minutes, to have their say, to the microphone... It is just like to see Russia, during present time... You look dressed so nice on this video, so classic and respectful. Please upload often your nice post/videos. I wish you good life, stay safe. God bless 💙 🙏
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to sleep right now, I got tired of recording & editing this 5 minute video 😂🤦♂ I'll reply to all comments tomorrow 🤙
Good night
Bonus points for honesty 😜🤪🤗
That said, you're underselling your work and the impact it was having.... but quitting is where you make the call.
We could see what attitude they had for or against your and the question
it was a mirror of the society and you also found a balance to ask a second time politely or with a smile that sometimes you got answers of even those who did not wanna say what the had said in the first moment.
And if you had found 10 most promissing or even challenging answers then ask the communiy for a their opinion or put 4 questions in a poll, then the next 4 poll but for each poll a simililar distribution that not your best 4 questions would end in 1 poll and beat each other
I guess people will love the kind of interaction and you have no obligation for anything, but you might find questions you never had thought about.
Loved ❤all the street interviews you did . Your safety is #1 priority, stay safe ❤. I do miss your interviews they were very interesting
You can dismiss it as just street interviews but 1420 is truly a work of historic proportion ❤️

It will be a souce for historians in 20/30 years for sure!
I live in Russia and the police came to me about my posts on the Internet criticizing the war. I have no doubt that Daniel is under even greater pressure.
To all foreigners who are reading this, I want to say THANK YOU.
Remember that we in Russia are under serious pressure.
Russia will be free❤
@@MsAmesWickif so, it will be free because it’s people will have woken up… because outside help is not coming. But I do not see russians getting political again… this is not 1917.
I will remember that not enough russians have the balls to go out on the streets, so in the majority they support attacking other countries.
It took balls to pose and publish the questions you asked on 1420. Nobody blames you for walking away with them still attached.
I remember the reaction of 2 old ladies being interviewed by a sunny day in Moscow. 1) astonished by the question. 2) both ladies looked at each other. 3) one of these old ladies said: you shouldn't ask such questions young man.
How TF do you know they're still attached?

The reason we watched 1420 is simply to understand what the normal people of Russia are thinking. It may not be so interesting for you anymore, but it was maybe the last “journalism” in Russia for the non Russian crowd, and by stopping, you are killing that last voice behind the curtain, no matter if it is Putin babushka or a student, that obviously lie how he likes Putin and “how s/he is not political” ;)

If it is “healthier” for you to stop, then do it.
I grew up in the GDR and I understand why.
And I understand your attempt to explain it.
Many people here, especially people from the West, really believe that you quit of your own free will.
They never experienced the system.
I also grew up in the GDR and perceive the video the same way you do.
Same here. Whoever has experienced this stuff will know right away why Danil made this video.
I didn't grow up in GDR but lived in DDR before during and after the wall fell. It's very sad that there are now people being forced back into repression in Russia after a small taste of freedom that people in now former GDR can now enjoy in relative security.

You tell me friend
Daniil, you did an amazing job during a very dangerous time. I learned a lot, including the Russian word for " why"
"it's a bad strategy" Mate, it's a lot better than some of the strategies I tried when I was 18 🤣
This completely has the vibe of a hostage video where the poor guy is forced to say what he is told to say.
You were our only window into the minds and hearts of the Russian people, thanks for that!
You created an important record I hope will be preserved forever. Thank you for your extraordinary service Daniil!
He looks broken. Wonder why🤔
@@-TheOracle-so my question to you is, if Russia 2.0 includes Putin and his goals?
@@Paulusmus Putin does not consider himself a villain, but rather a patriarchal guardian. I honestly believe he cares about the supremacy of the educated Russian and would be interested in enabling the 2.0 campaign showing a better Russia.
Putin projects strength, and rightly so. He also has a persona to maintain as the leader of Russia's linear top-down Russian system. Wouldn't you think that he would have influence over all things Russia?
Be blessed as it sure beats the alternative!
@@-TheOracle-
There I got my answer.... Pure propaganda 🤮
Now even more convinced that something happened to a great street journalist. 😔
@@Paulusmus You obviously have trouble with comprehension. Not one thing was said good about Russia, Putin and his linear system. On the other hand, you will never EVER hear Daniil say one bad thing about Putin and his total control over all things Russia. Try again, sport.
Creators are often too close to judge their own work.
You were not merely a street interviewer. You were a courageous street interviewer in Russia at a historic time and I think your interviews may be an important resource for future academics.
All the best with whatever direction you choose to take next.
Thankyou Daniel for all your content. As a UK citizen i can safely say ,i have had more insight into the ordinary person on the street through you , than any other form of media that is available. You have taken us into moscow and into the Russian countryside. We have seen opinions from young and old , the differences in the mentality and the fear of speaking out . The overwhelming support of the older generation for Putin and the huge success of Russian state propoganda. We have seen the younger generation with access to vpn largly not buying the narrative .if you want to carry on great i will be watching. You have to do what is right for you, and i hope you can carve a career out for yourself in something you feel is more important to you. Either way ,know the work you have done has been important and once again i thankyou for that and good luck
Well said..
I too.. learned so much about Russia through this young man, "Daniel"
I fear his naivety has been shattered with the reality of what Russia is today .
I truly pray for his safety and well-being …

1420 Was what I needed to not judge all Russians as this evil monolith. Your work showed the humans behind a nation, showed the west what isn't showed in the news as well. You did excellent and I wish you all the best and peace for Ukraine and Russia.
Hi Daniil. As others said, you should be proud of what you did and what you achieved with your other channel. You had a big audience, and I saw other channels referring to yours. Thank you for the insights, and thank you for you being you and following your heart, wherever that may lead. Be happy and stay strong!
Glad you're safe man, I was genuinely getting worried when I saw you stopped posting. Your videos have really been so valuable in regards to showing a perspective that maybe isn't heard from or seen very often. Both in regards to you bringing up these thought-provoking questions to your own people, but also allowing us around the world to see it and learn from it. I have no doubt you'll be able to put together some awesome projects in the future. Keep fighting the good fight Daniil!
I'm glad that the FSB let you record this video in the prison courtyard. /s
You look strange, tired or drunk. You have done a wonderful job. Be proud! Thank you for all these archives that you gave us. Take care ❤
Daniil, you have a loyal following! We were worried about you! ❤ 🇨🇦
I saw fear.
Man, you're funny, insightful, and well-spoken. You, the team, did a great job and you should be proud of yourself.
Respect for your work bro. I don't believe for a moment that you were forced to retire, as if you were I imagine all the previous videos would be gone. As it is, they stand up and remain as one of the best acts of street journalism in the history of RUclips. Good luck with whatever comes next!
I’m subscribed to your channel also. TBH the main reason I watch your guys content is because I want to see interviews of beautiful girls. I’ve noticed that every time the creators let the game get to their heads and the creators think they are above the interviewees, it fails. We don’t care about the creators political opinions. People subscribe to just watch street interviews
Respect for admitting that it was chick hunting at first. 🤣
you know thats not true, right ?? clearly the authorities have told him he cant do this anymore and offered him suggestions on how to explain why he wont do it anymore. it doesnt take a genius

I just finished watching this video. I came to the same conclusion. And no way am I a genius!!
There are other RUclips bloggers out there that are much more critical of these Soviets than 1420. I wonder what’ll happen to them.
Maybe Pootin loves these interviews because he gets to see the effects of his propaganda and can adjust it if needed. So he might allow it.🤔
@@dsuse3949 u know his channel was posting videos from well before the wor? Click on it, you'll see.
Daniil, it feels like we are through the looking glass now. I'm so sorry for you Daniil. This feels coerced and unnatural. You have been brave before but clearly you are under pressure at this time. Be well brother and may you and all people in Russia and everywhere have true freedom of speech and free democratic society someday soon. To have this requires brave individuals like you to challenge the system.
My personal hero of America is Ben Franklin.
"A republic, if you can keep it."
Heroes of democracy, you and Ben.
Did Putins FSB make you say this?
Man, this video looks so similar to those of Chechen teenagers asking forgiveness for something they did against their great leader.....
You should be proud of what you did. I just recommended your channel to 680 Americans in one of my lectures...
Even you don't understand that he was forced to do this?
@@LV-426...and even if he thinks so… it would change the meaning of his comment.
you could also recommend the channel „headshot“ similar style of interviews in Russia

Hmm, the KGB told you to say that, huh. 😂
The street interviews were great, be proud of your work!!
Although there's nothing wrong with 'street interviews' at all and it was quite interesting for a while, it did become kind of predictable at a certain point. So I can understand that it was time to stop it and look for something new. If I had an idea of what to do next, I would start my own RUclips channel.🤓😉😆 Anyhow I wish you much success in your further endeavors, I will keep following.
Stinks.

Thanks Daniil, now stay out of trouble! ;)
Street interview is always journalism, is equally important as all the rest of journalism. You are bringing the reality closer to the people. with your street interview you showed us some hidden reality in russian society. ThY for all what you have done since today, right choice in right time. Best of luck.
Your content was amazing! It was honest and brought a small slice of reality to us. 💙
Daniil, Thank you for all your videos, and come in to let us know how you are doing. You have become a part of all of us.
Please give yourself more credit then you are. You are a journalist.....A journalist is a person who gathers information in the form of text, audio or pictures, processes it into a newsworthy form and disseminates it to the public. This is called journalism. Lots of love.
Danii, you're a brave, smart young man who knows to "control" his tongue on delicate topics without getting arrested. I have no formula for you to continue, but you provided a lot of good information "behind the wall" of Russia.

"Liberal is an offensive word in Russia"
"New wave of journalists arrests in Russia"
If he was taken by the FSB he would not be allowed to publish those either !
And once again he would be in jail, not outside in the sun.
He's in Georgia, not in Russia anymore.

Dear Daniel,
