les pauls personal with the whammy had a custom upper pickguard. and it was a gold top. surprised he didn't mention anything about it considering i saw a picture of it on this channel
I have been playing drums for 38 years. When I was young I tried guitar first but lived in a small isolated town with no lessons. So drums just "clicked" for me. Long story shortened, I love everything guitar, BUT I have severe sausage fingers. I bought a Gibson SG standard, a Gibson Les Paul Studio and a Fender USA Telecaster about 15 years ago. Still havent played either one more than a few strums when I change strings or do maintenance (they still need yearly tuneups/cleanings even if display pieces). I still occasionally try with an acoustic guitar so eventually, I can do some justice to the electrics. For now, I just take them off the wall, adjust what needs adjusting or setup, clean them, turn the knobs so they dont get sticky, and put them back up for "the future" when I retire in a few years and have some time to devote
That Tokyo Les Paul is a real cool piece. That finish I recognize, a neighborhood kid got one about the same time, only in New York state. I haven't seen that finish since...1979-1981
That’s a pretty creative way to get yourself a Buckethead! Good on the guy that took the time to do that. I think it’s pretty cool if you’re looking for his guitar at a decent price.
I like the Blood Moon LP transformed with gold & cream , it looks ornamental , also the Tobacco LP is very cool , though I'd put the cream hardware back on...Thanks Trogly !
Do you think a 75 Les Paul DX for $2500 is expensive? It's CS in color but has been modified, for example one pickup has been replaced with a humbucker, but the other condition is original and in much better than player condition.
I don't get how you can get decent intonation with this wraparound bridge... I've seen the compensated ones on more modern LP Juniors, but this one looks like a straight line...
I could really rock that paisley les Paul! Looks well loved with all that work. Need an axe with humbuckers. Excellent price to me. Just busted broke. I can enjoy it from here, nice when something speaks/ inspires you! Thank you Trogly.
i was going to say just that - expect Tonerider would be the closest equivalent in the US? although they don't cost much, they are pretty good - i have Iron Gear in a few guitars and they stand up against SD, House of Tone, etc
@@ChrisShortyAllen are you sure? iron gear don't seem to make that claim, anymore than tonerider do. they are well made by a 3rd party and i have owned - and still own - many they don't have the cost of labour a pickup made in the US or EMEA would incur, so can be less expensive
@@ChrisShortyAllen Boutique implies made by a small maker, in low numbers, and usually at a high price - Tone Rider, Iron Gear, they're effectively no different to mass produced SD or DiMarzio?
You'll see a double-pickguard Les Paul in the video for the Bee Gee's "Jive Talkin'"

This is true! Nice eye Mr Disco
BG's timeless, sir.
How could you own a guitar since 1968 and not play it?!
Right? I couldn't do that
By playing your other guitars?
had no arms

It's not a pet needing a walk. Go ask your mum.
The Les Paul looks like it's wearing a tuxedo with the double pick guard
FOR REAL
Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees had a double pick guard deluxe in the 70s during the ‘Saturday Night Fever’ era.
@0:12 - I saw a video of The Bee Gees with Maurice Gibbs playing like this.
I like the double pickguard it gives that Flying V look.
the fabric deluxe is sweet! looks like the work was pro.
The double pickguard, like Barry Gibb’s Les Paul Deluxe in the music video for “Jive Talkin’,” makes me think of a bow tie.
That Gibson F-25 acoustic isn't a spanish flamenco guitar, it was created to appeal to folkies. I have one. It's great.
Amazing Gibson! ❤

You should get the leopard case for the Mystic Maiden.
very cool. I've saw Steve Howe and GE Smith playing Gibson ES series with double pickguards. I think GE's was a ES345 with factory double guard.

needs more pickguards
I like the lp with the double pickguard. And i dig the paisley! Would like it as a metalmachine🤓

double pickguard LP looks like it got suited up for a fancy dinner :)
That is so unbelievably cursed
That Paisley is gorgeous
Always wanted to do a double pick guard ever since I saw Tenacious D
Maybe the owner played left and right handed.
The blood moon looks like it was just turned into a Supreme
double pickguard ? is this how they came up with the design of the V shape ?
les pauls don't have pickguard fender stratocasters do.
There is a meme of Frankenstein playing that guitar but it was a flametop and paf's.
Air-Bucket! 😂
Bucket-ify
it looks like the les paul is wearing a tuxedo
I like that 74 paisley Chibson. 🤪
Great banana peel color.
Double Pickguard, fuck yea!!

I just sold a 76 deluxe that had been routed out for humbuckers, for $2,500. So you're right on the money.
0:58 no
When can we get more restoration videos?

You're right, you can't

Ummm...
That's Raquel Welch
Trogly where r u today??
still here
What. The. Heck.
You failed composition.
Evening Troglodytes!!
The only thing that makes a Les Paul look worse than a double pick guard is three pickups.
Yeah Trogly!!!! Gold Top Glory!
IronGear UK are NOT boutique - They're UK designed but made overseas, usually £20-40 a pickup

For the record, I own both Tone Rider and Iron Gear pickups - They're not bad but they're not "boutique" ✌
Butter 🧈🧈🧈 butter
That paisley has uneven open book curves…. Looked really odd. Otherwise it was great
Raquel Welch was a country music star???????
She played in all the spaghetti westerns, you must have seen her?
✌️
Yahoo
That double pickguard LP is just ugly. The paisley one, while still ugly, has a certain vibe about it that I enjoy.
