    I am still learning many Japanese philosophies. Many times there are such beautiful revelations such as, "Nature is the way to connect to our higher selves..."
    And learning that Buddhism and Shinto have co-existed peacefully for over 1500 years is wonderfully reassuring for someone who finds religious zealotry a form of aggression and therefore distasteful.
    I have much gratitude for this talk and I will seek out more of your wisdom.

    I have no real religion, just a nature-based spiritual belief (some of my friends call me "pagan," my Catholic mother called me "heathen"). I moved to Japan and lived there for three years. Both spiritually and mentally, I felt so much more at home there. Is that strange for a foreigner to say?
    I miss living in Japan. I'd like to move back someday.

I’m rlly glad I learned about Shinto and am excited to explore as I think it fits well with my beliefs. Can you practice Shinto if you are not Japanese? Thank you 🙏🏻

    I discovered this channel by searching for the topic Shinto on youtube. I greatly appreciated your clarity in the explanations. I think I'll see the other videos as well. A question: can Shinto also be lived outside Japan? If it is the connection with the things that surround us, a sacred tree, a mountain but also an Ancestor, is it possible to practice Shintoism outside Japan? Is it considered cultural appropriation? Or is it not possible because there are no Shinto Shrine (I do not know if it is correct as I wrote it) where to go for example on certain days? I think of the place where I live, in Italy. Thank you for your attention, also for the beautiful video.

    • @JapaneseSalon
      @JapaneseSalon  Год назад +3

      Thank you for watching my videos! Shintoism is in nature on our planet. In nature, we tune into the power of nature, the sacred divine energy. Yes, we can practice Shinto where we are. In Italy, you are surrounded by the beautiful sea, mountains, lakes. I was giving a workshop in Sicily earlier this year.
      It starts from a daily awareness and practice. I purify my mind, my body,my energy and my environment. I share one of my articles on the magazine! If you like to learn more, please email to office@azumiuchitani.com🌺

    Domo arigatogozaimasu! I appreciate your detailed translation and explanation. I like the concept of purification, cleaning ritual. Do you think it originated from when Izanagi-no-kami returned from the underworld and bathe in the river? Also would you consider "kami" more of a spirit or god? Thanks Azumi 🙇
