That was my favorite performance Colton did on American Idol, he definitely reminded me of the lead singer of Lifehouse a little bit since that is a Lifehouse song, it was just brilliant, his best performance without any doubt!
He sang the song as a contestant and for his last song when he was eliminated. He chose this song because of how it glorified God. And I think he was perfect for what he was going through at the time.

Rubben Studdard? He's a gospel artist. Besides, go watch Jon Foreman's interview on why he hates being called a "Christian artist". It'd make sense as to why others, i.e. Carrie Underwood, don't call themselves a Christian artist. Christ died to save them, not their music. So by not boxing in their own music into a certain category they can reach a broader audience and maybe even bring some people to Christ.

Unfortuneatly not a lot of middle school or high schoolers even consider listening to christian music so they dont get exposed to that genre but I know most people in my school at least listen to something in the water by carrie underwood because she isn't labeled a christian artist. Don't get me wrong I love christian music like Colton but his music isn't getting into mainstream as much as Carrie Underwood or Script.
