I want to thank all of you folks that took the time to write wonderful comments to me. A special thanks to me main man Lewdix for putting up with my antics in his office space. You put together an awesomely entertaining and informative video. Without you pilots, I don't have a job. I control with a pilots perspective in mind, always striving to provide safe, orderly, and expeditious service to my pilots. Thank you all and continya to fly safe.
I cannot express in words how much I loved this video!! So much fun to see the face behind the controller we've been hearing for so long. And to hear Andrew on the other end thinking "holy crap this is what it's like talking to this guy". I frocking loved this one thoroughly
@@LewDixAviation Every time I've seen a new lewdix upload for the past several months I've been hoping it's this one. I got so excited this morning when it actually was!
Such a big fan of Murph, easily the friendliest/one of the friendliest controllers out there that really helps students pilots. I was a student pilot for 2+ years due to my age at the time and he was always calm and patient with me.
Love this vid! What a character Murph is! I almost spat out my drink when he gave the tower the middle finger on departure haha! Really respect controllers like Murph that keep us safe with a calm demeanour and understanding for newer pilots. Thanks Lewdix and Murph for a great vid! I give permission for repeat appearances by Murph haha
Les, thank you for your appreciation for what I do. Means a lot to me. I control with a pilots perspective in mind. Gotta take care of my pilots and I love providing the best service I can.
Great to see a controller out there working their way to CFI! That should make an awesome instructor, and controller!I love that you are having so much fun, but still have the serious attitude for safety!
Even as a cfi myself it’s sometimes hard to imagine a controller being able to have a good time and cut up. I understand they have to be serious, clear, and concise when they are on the clock. However it’s nice to see them like this. Awesome video!
...And I thought Lewdix had charisma! Murph isn't just talk either, landings were great, as was the trash talk! 11:05, looking and talking to Lewis...while in a fully controlled coordinated turn. 15:50 falling leaf stall? Murph has great coordination. Beautiful. Kudos Murph!
So awesome to put a face to the voice I’m talking to at work every week! The controllers at exec are the BEST. Murph cracks my students and I up every time. He turns the heat down in an otherwise very stressful environment. A couple of weeks ago there was a disabled aircraft on the runway and Murph handled it like such a calm, cool, and collected boss!
hahaha! I love this video for three reasons: 1) A pilot so skillful, the plane refuses to stall. 2) "Whippin' out my pastels!" hilarious! 3) The banjo is back! I missed the banjo track.
LewDix I am a long long time fan of your videos. Your videos helped me with my commercial single checkride . I passed my private 3 years ago, then knocked out my instrument in February, commercial single in June (thanks to your awesome videos and Kings and my awesome instructors) then my commercial multi in October, and got my high performance and complex endorsement as well as starting to be checked out in a Turbo Aztec . I am thinking about starting CFI and going to CFII and MEI after that, have about 510 hours now. Your videos on CFI training are very helpful. Your channel is always entertaining and Murph is such a cool and awesome pilot and controlled. I would love to fly in his airspace one day!
@@LewDixAviation you are welcome and thank you! I would love to meet you and fly with you one day. I just subscribed to your channel and wish you all the best!
By far my favorite video you’ve posted. Murph is f***en hilarious! I spit coffee all over the table at my flight school when he flipped off his coworkers in the tower 🤣🤣. “Morning mess!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
We have a great affinity for each other in the tower. You should hear our conversations between transmissions. Similar to the barber scenes in the movie Coming to America. Sentences can not be completed without profanity. Hehehe
@@baldassassin1 gotta have fun at work. Only way to stay sane. I have a huge amount of respect for controllers especially ones like you that take that time to help out not only us student pilots but all pilots. Plus like you said it calms our nerves when you can have some fun but still play by the rules. You all rock! I fly out of northern New Jersey and we have some controllers that people are scared to death of and others you can chat with all day or night haha. I hope lewdix has you as a guest on his channel again!
So cool to see Murph in the cockpit! The way he manages traffic at a busy airport with such a cool, calm demeanor is incredible. Great video as always Lewis!
Thank you, Matt. I learned long ago when I was a wee lad learning to fly that you have to adhere to the ABCs. A kick-ass instructor told me to "Always Be Cool." That philosophy has always stuck with me, and I've incorporated that mindset when I control and teach new controllers.
Mistake to watch this while eating lunch. Had to clean my screen to type this after spit laughing all over it at Murf's readback at 04:20 🤠. Thank you both, you made my Monday!!!😂
Lewis, I just gave my first ever dual given time. I was watching your videos a lot leading up to it to get over some of the nervousness. Now that I've experienced it, it's not so bad!
Don't have to go to the gym today after seeing this Vid, laughed a lot. Wish all controllers had a bit more sense of humor. Murph is super cool but what will happen when you put a super serious controller in your plane, wondering if you can lighten him/her up! Ask him/her what they find most anoying about pilots and communication with controllers.
Finally we are able to put a face to this amazing voice at KORL. I was super nervous my first time at KORL and you sir even said the magic words: “welcome to executive we’ll take care of you sir”. You are an Angel. Thank you for what you do.
Loved the video - made me appreciate how much better you fly if you're relaxed on the controls. Also loved the hat, obviously multi skilled in being a diver as well!!
I think a unique requirement during training that could be helpful to the entire aviation community (safety wise) would be requiring an ATC controller to ride along with a flight instructor in the traffic pattern for a couple of hours to really grasp the concept better and to better understand what pilots deal with while flying in the pattern. Really would be a good idea imo.
We have a familiarization flights program for air traffic controllers. We are encouraged to fly with local pilots and the airlines to experience the other side of the house so to speak. Like any govt program there is a lot of red tape that is a pain in the arse.
At ORL pre-Covid, we solicit the pilots and students to come visit the tower. It is very helpful when pilots and controllers have a constructive dialogue back and forth concerning flight ops. Unfortunately, due to Covid we are not doing tower tours. I'll put word on the street when we can.
Yes!!! This is the guy I said sounded like Mr Rogers in the previous video!!! Would be awesome to do a video seeing his work/perspective from the tower!
@@baldassassin1 I've seen short news clips about what the tower does. They usually are brief and not very informative. I'm sure, under the right conditions with enough oversight, cameras would be allowed.

It's my pleasure, Richard. I love what I do, and I am happy that you enjoy your flying experience here. Thank you for your appreciation. Talk to you on the airwaves sir.
