Thank you for making this video I'm new to going to tracks I usually just bash or use my scale stuff on the trails and this really gave me a lot more confidence to go to my local track and try it out. Keep up the great content!
I’ve subscribed and been watching your channel with my kids for several months now. (Just got the kids -well, me- an RC monster truck for back yard bashing). There are a lot of guys with RC channels on RUclips that can’t keep their language clean. You do. Every time. -well done-
Dude... thank you for this video. I was unsure of getting into 1/8 scale because of the intimidation factor of driving as a new guy. Did not know what to expect. Now I need to see what the track says about me being a disabled Veteran. Would love to marshal but my body just will not let me. Hoping they can accommodate.
Great video Mark. I hit the track today for the first time in a year. Unfortunately I didn’t have anyone to turn marshal so after a bunch of crashes and many trips back and forth, you realize control is key. No record laps were broke but I had a better understanding of the layout and found a consistent pace. Had a great time!
Man I sure wish I had tracks like this in NJ. This looks like a blast. I could rip my Rustler 4x4 on there all day! Not really interested in racing but just for the sake of fun.
Thanks Mark ! One of your best videos in my opinion 👍 very informative and straightforward! Would like to see more of these kind of videos if possible?
Mark, some basic tips to build confidence at a new track, nice 👍 If I am having difficulties with a particular section I will keep going back to that section and hit it over and over until I figure it out. Also, talk to the local racers, no one knows the track, or surface, better than them!
Mark I love your videos, I have started to get back into RC racing because of them. Broke my rear shock tower first day out, so I would say a great first day. I have extra parts on order now, running an RC10B4 17.5 class to start, I was winning till i crashed haha.
Damn! The throttle on that car is quick! You approached one jump slowly and the. BAM! Sped up in about 6-7 feet and cleared the double easily. That’s impressive! Well, at least to someone who’s never run a track. Still, great runs!
Oh that looked like some truly amazing fun, I know I’d never be as good of driver to be nearly competitive, but I didn’t get into this for that purpose. I’d have as much fun running my Revo on the track! Great video Mark! Thanks a lot! 👍👍
Great vids!! Where is that track, I’m in Texas as well, ATX. Want to start hitting a track and that one looks legit! The surface the lay out. Nice gnarly jumps! Great driving by the way, looking really good, car too!
Any advice for a track that has jumps that literally cannot be rolled? Some carpet tracks tend to have sections where rolling ends up with your car in a gap between the launch and landing ramps with no way out.
I think on the section that you were having problems with, if you took it a little wide on entry and almost slid it around the corner and came in tight on the following corner you should have been able to apex the last turn and save speed for the jump to the front straight
Couldn’t agree more ! I always start the days my rolling all jumps till, I get a feel for the car or truck. Mind if, I ask what the tire choice was that day for Truggy. Track conditions look closely to our local track. Thanks !
1st track experience was yesterday morning killing time. Figured I had my xmaxx in the back of the truck, no one would be near the track so why not hit a few big jumps. After about 3rd jump I had a whole group of kids watching and asking questions. I can tell you 1 thing, an XMAXX wide maxx with shocks jacked up on a 10th scale track is about like taking grave digger to a motocross track drunk and trying to drive it. By the time the batteries went dead, I saw my poor new truck hit the ground in ways I never thought before. The doubles were really slick. But they have this huge step-up double single or a monster triple I couldn't figure out. The jump was about the size of my chevy truck. Im gonna have to take my rustler back and redeem myself. I looked like an idiot.
I'd like to know what track this is? I drive a truck so I wanna hit tracks all over, I hi the Hobbyplex in Omaha Nebraska and it was a blast. But I'm in California right now.... so I get around. Love your videos!
What do you mean by, pitching the front down when you take a jump? I am new to R/C , I got in because of drag racing ( I bought the Losi 22s, and the Traxxas Drag Slash ), but I also bought a Traxxas Slash VXL 2wheel drive just to drive around and get used to driving R/C cars and using the controller. But the racing you are doing in this video looks like it’s seriously fun.
I know this is an old comment- but for any others that are here learning- he means tapping the brakes while in the air will pitch the car forward while hitting the throttle will pitch it back. Race on!
Great video Mark. I have a question for you or anyone who races that might want to chime in. I have only attended one off road race and I did really well considering I’ve always ran on road nitro in the past. I have found myself using a good amount of drag brake with all my off road vehicles. Are you or any of the super fast guys using drag brake and if so at what percentage? Any info would be great. Thanks
Can you start writing what track you are at in the description? I'm also in north Texas and new to the sport and looking for places to go race at, Thank you I appreciate your Videos.
Roll everything, I raced 1/8 buggy for the 1st time 3 weeks ago, showed up new buggy, broke in 1/2 lap practice, i got no practice, flipped over on warm ups for 1st heat so I started the 1st heat with no laps, new buggy, plus I never made a lap on that track before, so I rolled everything and I qualified 9th out of 30 in 1st round. It can be done...
Of course you can! I built a Rustler for my son, does pretty good at the track. Remember, it's a stadium truck, basic design but good to race. Give it a try and if you really like it, buy a stadium truck kit or pick one up used.
Are there rules to what cars we can bring to the track? Can we only bring a specific type of car or can we just bring any and play? Love watching your videos and I hope to try out a track soon!
Certain tracks have certain scale ratings so you wouldn’t want to bring a 1/5 scale to like a 1/8 or 1/10 scale track so ask the track before you go! But other then that pretty much everything is aloud
Im new to the hobby and looking for a good place to run. Anyone know a place relatively close to southern indiana? Thanks love ur vids i watch them all😃
Thank you for making this video I'm new to going to tracks I usually just bash or use my scale stuff on the trails and this really gave me a lot more confidence to go to my local track and try it out. Keep up the great content!
MORE TRACK VIDEOS PLEASE THIS REALLY HELPED ME AND IM SURE ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE TO!

Thank You so much You gave me a lot of reasons to race and I'm going to go to the track tomorrow for the first time, thanks so much again
Never watched track racing until your channel. Very cool.
Man that looks like a blast. I wish there were tracks around here.

Great vid on how to approach the track. Thanks Mark👍
Great stuff Mark, going to a track in the next couple of weeks for the first time, can’t wait!
Billy killing it on the skate board.

Initially I didn't expect to learn much but wow was i wrong. I could literally see the improvement from each lap. Thanks for putting this together.
Very smooth, calm driving, a lesson for any amateur RC racer wannabe.

Nice, Mark. Not a lot of tracks in my area. Have several short course trucks with no place to run them. Greeting from Montana.

Wow, you are good. Haha. I gotta get some practice in today.

Thanks a lot for the tips, I really want to try my local track but:
1st: I don’t have 80$ a day
2st, i need to repair my slash

What track is this ? Is it in San Antonio

What would you say your favorite element in a track is? or top 3 (Example; straight away, big jump, little jump, banked turns, hairpin turns)
How far do you drive to get to these places? My area has NOTHING local. Seems like you have tons of options!
Just curious as to what batteries do you run in your E buggy. I’m new to buggy racing and struggling on 4s battery choices.
I run the protek 6500 4s... link in the description ;)
Can you start writing what track you are at in the description? I'm also in north Texas and new to the sport and looking for places to go race at, Thank you I appreciate your Videos.
Let's get to the bottom of this ! When is it going to be the world champion ship trials?
Roll everything, I raced 1/8 buggy for the 1st time 3 weeks ago, showed up new buggy, broke in 1/2 lap practice, i got no practice, flipped over on warm ups for 1st heat so I started the 1st heat with no laps, new buggy, plus I never made a lap on that track before, so I rolled everything and I qualified 9th out of 30 in 1st round. What rc cars do you recommend for racing cause I'm sure u can't just take my rustler and race
Of course you can! I built a Rustler for my son, does pretty good at the track. Remember, it's a stadium truck, basic design but good to race. Give it a try and if you really like it, buy a stadium truck kit or pick one up used.
Sweet! That's great info, tons of ppl should be able to take a lot away from this vid. Thanx mate!
So what track were you at???? Looks like there were several things to do there as far as RC stuff. Love the channel by the way keep it up bro.
Action RC Park
