  • This video provides a high-level overview of setting up a NodeBalancer. Nearly all applications that are built using Linodes can benefit from load balancing, and load balancing itself is the key to expanding an application to larger numbers of users. Linode provides NodeBalancers, which can ease the deployment and administration of a traditional load balancer.

What if I need SSL traffic? How thats gonna work? Am I have to install ssl on both servers or the load balancer handles that for me

You can install the SSL certificate and Private Key on your NodeBalancer. We have a guide written about that here: www.linode.com/docs/platform/nodebalancer/nodebalancer-ssl-configuration

@@AkamaiDeveloper Can you make a video how to make a load balancer with WordPress and also use SSL? The issue I am having is basically the home page url in WordPress! Please give me a solution

How do you have mirrored servers to balance the load between?

Hey Jack! Essentially, you'll need to replicate your services across multiple Linodes. If you're serving static content, you can accomplish this by cloning your Linode to another Linode in the same data center, or by creating a new Linode and manually copying data from the original Linode. More dynamic content would benefit from further replication, which we review in this guide:

@@AkamaiDeveloper Thanks for the reply I will look into that! I have dynamic user driven content so I feel like this won't be easy! 😂

Great video, asl all your videos. Thanks for sharing. I see a lot of videos about NodeBalancers. However, I can't find a video that explains how the web servers are configured. Do they connect to the same database? How does everything keep in-sync? You may have 10 computers, if the last item of anything is bought by a user in computer #3, how does computer 7 update its database? how does a recently connected user get real-time information regarding the non-existence of the item? Do you have a video that explains this scenario?

We do not have a video for this as of yet - but thanks for the suggestion! We do have some extensive guides on NodeBalancers, though, that describe configurations:

Is there a way to keep linodes behind a loadbalancer in sync with one-another? or must they each be managed independently ?
I understand one option would be to create additional nodes by 'cloning' the initial node, but assuming one has 3 nodes behind a balancer, and changes are made to the initial node, is there an easy way to sync those changes across the other two nodes?

Listen me very carefully I am an indi dev & I never stick to those goldigger things like serverless functions instead would like to spend few weeks to implement same on my own container, thereby never stuck on a cloud platform... Linode Clearly serves my purpose...
