    The John Penton Section was NEPG tight! Rocks, ruts, mud, face slappers, logs, uphills, downhills and I can't see for the trees. Good job Jeff!

    Would you ever make a training camp when you retire it would be great to pass on skills to others and a good money maker. Just a thought😀

    I plan coming to the penton race this year. It'll be my first time ever going to gncc race. I'm only going as a spectator. I'll be there sometime Friday morning

    It’s awesome that even during a hectic pro xc1 race that you still remember to wipe your camera, you’re a badass dude kailub!

    good ole mud at the Penton...... I got tired just watching one lap. 100% respect for those Pro riders or any A rider for that matter.

      Ron Steurer,
      100% respect for ALL riders no matter the class. Especially the youth riders! Lots of times they see the worst mud being first on the track after it has rained all night not to mention the size of their wheels! Granted they don't race the full course and toughest sections but I've seen them face track conditions that experienced adults struggle with on full size wheels. Those are some tough kids!

      Amen to that brother -was no disrespect for the other riders as I have 100% respect for any rider who goes out and rides a GNCC! I have raced some local HS's and would place mid pack in 250C at best, but never had the desire/speed to enter a GNCC so hats off to all those guys/gals!

    • @c6quad3

      Ron Steurer, I know you weren't disrespecting anyone! My apologies if it sounded like I was implying that you had disrespected anyone.
      Dude, you don't have to be a pro or A class rider to race a GNCC. They have classes for everyone and I encourage everyone to come race a GNCC. If you like racing HS races you should come to a GNCC. The whole atmosphere at these races is awesome! And what other sport allows you to get out there and compete on the same course as factory pro riders?
      I love GNCC racing!

    Hey man! Awesome videos!! You should get a sopromount or a proshot, that camera setup on top sucks Bc many times tree branches get stuck and might yank you off the bike. I used to wear my GoPro like that until I almost got decapitaded racing in a harescramble because the GoPro got stuck on a branch and pulled me right off the bike haha 😂

    What settings are you running for the go pro? I've experimented with different FPS settings, and other graphic settings. However, can never seem to get the right look. Thanks and keep up the awesome racing!

    love the videos but I can see where it could be distracting and it seemed to catch on the limbs and leaves in the new section. You had a rough start and first lap.

  • @jacobfletcher9287
    @jacobfletcher9287 6 лет назад

    You should get an under visor go pro mount, it would help with the leaves and make it easier to wipe not being up on your head.

    • @KailubRussell
      @KailubRussell  6 лет назад +2

      Jacob Fletcher tried it already and that's the reason two races are missing from the lineup. Too much visor in the camera view and I actually found it harder to locate camera to wipe, kept running my hand into the visor

    How do you take the camera off of your helmet so fast, at the end of the lap?

    • @KailubRussell
      @KailubRussell  6 лет назад +3

      dirt bike kid I twist the GoPro and the sticky mount off the helmet. If u pull it doesn't move but twist it pops right off with ease

    Mount the camera on your chin. Better FOV / angle, branches can't get to it, easier to wipe and if you duck to avoid roost it protects the camera as well. If the angle is odd, you can just turn the case upside down and tell the camera to invert in the settings. I used a piece of plastic cutting board safety wired to my helmet with 3 finishing screws countersunk through the mount in case the adhesive gave up. Great ride! Love the videos.

      Mr. MidLifeCrisis there are a few reasons you will never see a pro rider with a GoPro on their chin bar. For one it looks silly, but mainly because I have one of those "red" bulls on my chin bar and a certain company may not be too happy if I cover it up...

    • @mr.midlifecrisis8547
      @mr.midlifecrisis8547 6 лет назад +4

      If looking silly was a concern for me I'd never start my bike. ;) However I certainly understand your point. Thanks for responding, good luck with the rest of the season.

      Kailub Russell,
      I'm sure you've seen Graham Jarvis's gopro videos and where he mounts his under the visor. That works real good to keep it clean and keep it from snagging debris. Not sure if that would cover any of your sponsor logos or not though.
      I'd love to see you post more footage from your races! I wish all the pros would wear a gopro and share the footage. I broke my neck racing 26 years ago and I'm paralyzed. Watching these gopro videos gives me the feeling of being back on a bike. Great therapy! Lol
