The funny part is that they're actually pretty good at changing their mind. Like, you just trap them back in and they're already switching side so fast. I mean helping the Portal Master is pretty much just parole for them, and not accepting parole as a prisoner is kinda dumb.
They don't get 'redeemed' per se until they choose to do a specific quest. Remember we aren't canonically controlling them directly, just guiding them

I love playing Skylanders games. They are really amazing to play. Also I like playing Trap Team because you can capture all the villains ^_^
The funny part is that they're actually pretty good at changing their mind. Like, you just trap them back in and they're already switching side so fast. It's funny to imagine how the world would be like if trapping somebody inside of a prison would be all it takes for any wrongdoer to do good instead.
