    I believe you might be one of the only channels covering the topics that Blizzard has made extremely convoluted for us. The wording in tooltips sometimes drives me insane so I'm loving the clarity you try to provide on these systems. Thanks for the great content mate! 🤩

      ​@siddgang hello there, ive watch your vid just now from what ive known is that potency is really a mess stat even the baron inc. duration is limited to some skills for example the blackhole of wizard is a loss of control skill but it does not inc duration & its not even considered a total loss of control so why it didn't extend even i have more potency than my opponent.. in the other hand the resistance is much more effective because ive test stun on two players that i inflict the result is the one with a high resistance wakes up 1s faster than the one with lower resistance.. for necromancer i think it doesn't matter how high your resistance because the fear duration is just to high that they can cc you to death and there's nothing you can do about it unless they are low reso and other class will get you. for me that plays more bg ive experience it. great analysis by the way 🙂

    I’d be really interested to hear your take on VK’s latest video. In it he suggests potency does scale continuously and also affects legendary gems. It feels like you two are doing the developer’s jobs for them 😅

    Hi sidd great work on Potency! Btw the knockback and knockup effects fall under loss of control too. So hard to test these 2 also the pain of subjugation leg gem if this gem really helps with feasting baron. So many testings and yet developers are not transparent on secondary stats. I hope they can make patches like damage calculations too

      Thanks buddy. And also thanks for that info. CC is such a huge topic. Even with 15 mins video i could not cover things like chill/ freeze/ pain of subjugation/ abiding curse etc.
      yeah, so many things are still unclear & no signs of getting any clarifications from devs -_-

    Great work for explaining potancy thanks.
    But not all classes need alot of potancy in pvp, let's talk about DH for example, majority of DH skills and essences for pvp don't have good CC or DOTs so why increase potancy and forget armor pen.
    DH need more damage, crits and atk speed.
    Yes potancy is important for some builds but i didn't see high rank DH have potancy more than armor and armor pen.
    In the other side necro have fear and alot of DOTs essences, invests on potency for necro is more useful.
    Which is better for DH?
    Doing 6 crits 100k+ damage or doing 6 seconds 20k damage they can heal and stop it after 3 seconds.
    Adding more secondary states for something you don't need in your class is bad idea.

    Great video! Ty & please keep it up. As a suggestion … can you do a video explaining what secondary gear types are best and for what . For instance now I understand that Baron set is good for and before I wouldn’t even consider this gear set

    To clarify all harmful effect duration are reduced against players by 35%, period, all the time, but the maximum bonus you can gain for the sub category of loss of control effects is 50% id assume a burn is not capped, but a stun or a slow is. So in pvp all duration is reduced, stuns and slows, immobilize can only increase by half the reduced value if you have enough potency or set item, anything over that value for a given player will only effect burn for example. At least that’s how I understood it.

    im confused because it says my harmful effects durations are 27% lower but when I tested on the dummy my vipers lasted 9 secs

      Lot of things are still unclear about the dummy. As far as i know that dummy represents a normal mob ( not elite or boss). & we also dont have any idea which difficulty mob stats that dummy has. Yet another unclear data for us to resolve

    Good stuff there and explanation.
    Okay, so I know and understand the difference between "harmful effects" and "continual damage."
    However, what I can't fully wrap my head around yet is the difference between "continual damage" and "continous damage." Since "continual damage" is DOT damage, like fire, that is applied directly to an enemy, then does that mean that "continuous damage" is then applied to an area where enemies only receive damage a long as they are in that area of effect? Or is this all wrong and "continual damage" and "continuous damage" are just the same thing?

      The main difference is in the word “effect”. Continual damage is any type of damage that occurs over a period of time eg 3 seconds 5 seconds. It also included continual damage effect (basically these are boosted by Grace set)
      Another is continual damage EFFECT. These only mean the debuffs like bleed burn bile poison etc. these are affected by potency & Banquet of eyes set. Hope this clears it up.

    Aside from increasing willpower. Stat , increasing potency in Horadrim, potency gem slot, gear upgrades/rolls, how else can I increase potency?

    Helpful.
    I've been playing since day one, but the combination of no visuals for many effects plus the horrific UI (small icons under your avatar you can barely see, must open to actually see the icon or what it means, nonessential information like WB room remnants being listed first/plus taking too long to scroll thru list - proc is long over before you get to the bottom, no in game table for what each icon means - don't know of one on the internet either, and no icons for many different procs [good lord that's a long list of a poorly designed and implemented user interface) has made deciphering what is going on extremely difficult if not impossible. It's so poorly designed that Blizzard should be embarrassed, if the Devs had any shame. That Blizzard keeps changing stuff hasn't made it any easier.

      To make you feel a little better, the feedback for the list of useless icons displayed under ur face/frame has been sent to the devs. Hope they change it. I know its just one of the thousand problems, but hopefully they improve it asap.

    there is no way you get 35% reduction for just 1 point above enemy stat... its just a cap

      Its the truth. & I believe there is a reason why it is flat 35%. The CC’s last so short, that even at 35% its a fraction of second.
      So maybe the devs thought that scaling it with more difference in potency & resist wont make the player feel the impact. If no impact, they won’t spend on topaz. Bad for business.

    The topic is great, but without testing or clarification from Blizzard, it's impossible to know how it works, because as you say, the tooltips are confusing and sometimes contradictory.
