The problem with Walmart is that the meat all comes in prepackaged as they don't have a butcher in house. There is a long chain of custody between where it was packaged and your grill. As we all know, a lot of Walmart employees are just plain careless and thus, will leave racks of cold items out on the floor while they chat one another, chat on their phones or just walk away and leave the rack there. I've seen it numerous times and is why I will not buy anything cold from Walmart.
I've never had the wagyu, but hear it's amazing. Maybe next time Costco has it I'll try some. I usually get most of my meats from them - mostly because I'm lucky enough to have a Costco within a ten minute drive from my house. Always SOOOOOO crowded though.
@@dyates6380 It wasn't just any wagyu. A5 is the highest japanese grade. If I remember correctly it was $100/lb pre covid. They are fed a special diet and treated more luxuriously to get that premium marbling. It's very fatty though. It's more of a tasting steak. If you ever get some I recommend eating only a half a steak per person at a time and cooking a normal steak with it to fill you up. It's the most tender delicious steak you'll ever have but the fattiness becomes too much if you eat too much. I say this as a 235lbs male who eats steak like a mad man. 'Too much of a good thing is a bad thing'
Costco prime rib eye 16.99 taste just about as good as Butcher which is 26.99. Chicken Cutlets 2.99 was 1.89 befor Joey Byedin and taste as good as Butcher at 6.99

While not mentioned; you shouldn't buy meat from Walmart; I think it's worse.

The usda prime strip loin was underwhelming. They did habe japanese wagyu a5 stip loin which was fantastic but way too expensive to buy it often.

Not a very good video. No objective comparison just some rather random opinions.
