If you have ever seen any of my ITX Coverage over the last couple of years you will be familiar with the X370 Fatal1ty ITX board from ASRock. It’s been the staple in many a build and the 300 sereis Fatal1ty lineup is still one of the AM4 ITX boards that can be consistently found for sale here in the UK.
The one thing it’s lacking these days though is a connection for ARGB - now that’s not a huge deal in many builds but the lack of adressable RGB headers does mean that if your looking to build a fully lit ITX Ryzen build the cheaper 300 series boards just wont cut it now…
So with that in mind, lets take a look at my new ITX go to option.. The B450 Fatal1ty ITX from ASRock.
Yes, I know what your thinking.. It looks suspiciously similar to the X370 Fatal1ty board I’m already using but there are a few differences worth noting if you are juggling between the two..

Great Video! I'm really surprised you don't have more subscribers and views.
Keep it up! I'm seriously impressed in all your videos as a group.
Thanks I just enjoy tinkering with these things and if I can make something that's useful or enjoyable for others to watch then that's a bonus 🙂
Amazing board for the price, had it mated with a 3700X, 32G Crucial Ballistix Sport and a 5700XT. Memory oc. to 3600, stable and constant 4.1 PBO and the board temps never exceed 42. Excellent product description overview !
Does your processor work Out of the box without updating bios?
On the board I got it was Ryzen 3000 ready - i.e already updated bios.. worth checking with your chosen retailer the bios their stock has
@@F7GOS im planning on buying in newegg
Indeed it was, V 3.50. Got mine from Amazon UK last year mid September roughly...
Guess it just depends if it's new stock or old... At this point though it should all be new stock. My bios was 3.70
Had X470 Taichi + 5700XT, I gave it to my sister's kid, so now I have B450 fatality ITX as my main rig, 2700X, and RX 570 4Gb. It plays like a charm! Memory runs great, 3200Mhz 14 14 14 36 1T. Like these videos!
My favourite irish tech youtuber uploafs again.
He's Scottish
Cheers and yeah I am indeed Scottish 😅
Rocking a 2600x CPU on this board. Very stable with RAM at 2933 and a thermal take CPU cooler. The cooler could be better, I'd admit, but it never exedes 65 C. Note that I have two 80 mm exhaust fans in the back Noctua and 1650 Super too.

Sketchy looking capacitor placement next to the PCI-E slot :S Still great value board btw, and if the capacitors are connected properly there's no problem.
I want to downsize my pc, does it support ryzen 1600?
I'm currently building this board with a 3600, thing is my PSU only has a 4 PIN 12V connector. I understand the 4 PIN ATX spec is good enough to supply the 3600 with the 65-100W it needs (even when OC) but would appreciate a second opinion? Will the motherboard change how it uses the VRM's in such a configuration? Is 8 PIN a necessity?
had this board myself in the in win A1 and it was okay with r5 2600
She's purring away nicely at the moment with my 3700X... Will more than likely be the home for my 1700 long term though.
Can this board drive Ryzen 9 5950x?
Does it Support ryzen 5000?
Did this need a bios update for a 3rd gen Ryzen?
Yeap, bios update needed.
@Zyzics No, you need 1st or 2nd gen cpu to make the update.
@@Jhaerski where can I get this update?
@@tommyperalta8070 asrock website
Asrock needs to work on the bios
Will the update support Ryzen 3 3100 ? Bios update page says "newer XT CPUs support added...
Ive been following up on many b450 motherboards.
Everyone near unanimously recommends either the msi b450 tomahawk max or b450 mortar max.
Any thoughts on that?
Considering the mortar is mini-itx too.
I know MSI does the Gaming Plus AC in mini ITX and it's a good board. Less availability here at the moment though. Their larger B450 boards are very good too though. Thing with Ryzen is your still much more limited when it comes to max OC and memory speed by the CPU quality itself rather than the board unless your going Extreme tuning which most B450 owners won't be doing.
Abit skeptical about the back mounted single nvme. Anyone had issues about thermals there?
Good point to raise but no issues so far... probably more breathing room than a lot of laptops too though so wouldn't worry about it unless your using a really bargain bucket nvme drive
@@F7GOS thanks for reassurances. If there's some space i might stick some thermal pads there
Cheers
I have an asrock board steel legend b450m and ever since I built it the thing won’t boot to windows on the first press of the power button it just gets stuck on the as rock screen then you power it down and back on via the power button and it boots to windows fine ever had that on any of the asrock boards you have used
Only seen that if I've been trying to use a cpu the bios doesn't support. Which bios version are you on and what CPU are you using?
F7GOS it’s a 3600 and the box said it was on the updated bios tried to reseat the ram I’m using the correct slots 2 & 4 it’s a strange one
Just updated the bios from 2.9 to 3.30 still the same :( thinking a fresh install of windows may be on the cards
3900x ok?
Doyou think its okay to use with a ryzen 7 3700x
Yeah I have tried my 3700X in it and no issues at all
@@F7GOS did you have to update bios to be compatible with it
Yeah it shipped with the latest bios on it which was zen 2 compatible out of the box
Does it support ryzen 3000 out the box?
Mine shipped with the latest bios and supported it out of the box. Best check with your retailer of choice to confirm the bios version if you want to be safe
Will it work with R5 3600
As long as you buy one with a newer bios yes
Can one not download the bios from asrock site?
Yes, but if it's an older bios you won't even be able to boot with a 3rd gen CPU as the motherboard won't know what to do with it. If you already have a zen1 or zen+ processor and your looking to upgrade though then yeah you can just flash your bios by downloading the latest
nice
This board is a piece of shit don’t buy it buy a better mini itx
Is the ram speed able to reach 3600mhz?
Depends on the bin of the CPU
