I would assume that Aerith's protection is the only reason that Cloud's team survived the battle with Sephiroth - and this episode made me believe that more than ever.

Sephiroth is my favorite villain too.
Ever since I saw him in Kingdom Hearts, even though I kept losing to him several times, I still enjoy fight him, and I get even more excited when I saw him appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
And funny about this, I'd imagine that Vergil and Sephiroth start the fight when Sephiroth tries to steal Smash Invitation from Vergil when he finally got invited to Smash, but sadly he lost to him, and took it from Vergil. XD
I should point out another thing. They said that Vergil merely ESCAPED Arkham's illusion, not that he could see through it. That was more a testament to his willpower (as they pointed out that the illusion would drive most people mad).

Sorry to break it to you Frost, but if you saw the Death Battle between Nightmare & Guts, you would also see the longest sword ever used by man, which stood 7 FEET LONG.

The man at arms youtube channel made a real life cloud buster sword and spheroth's sword.
I think they undersold Bayonetta's speed and durability in the death battle, and it is one of the few ones I heavily disagree with, but it's one of my favorite fights to watch. This one is pretty great too.
A RUclips channel actually made Sephiroth's Masamune, Man at Arms.

Frost the Hobidon/Frostbite CJ Well If Sephiroth fought Virgil it makes sense that a Final Fantasy Character should Fight a Devil May Cry Character

Though that Sephiroth hair reminds me of photos of my dad when he was younger. Just make the hair light brown and give Seph glasses and you get my dad.

And I do actually remembered that when I was young, and doesn't know the term "shipping". I used to ship Cloud with Aerith. ^^; Same with VIII, IX, and X. I've actually shipped Squall with Riona. Zidane with Garnet. And Tidus with Yuna. Even through those ships have already been sailed by other Final Fantasy Fan.
Fun Fact: Vergil is voiced by Daniel Southworth, who most Power Rangers fans (Including myself) know him as Eric Myers, aka the Quantum Ranger from Power Rangers Time Force. >:)
You could watch Guts vs Nightmare were they explain the longest sword used in real life was a few inches longer

If you remember the guts vs nightmare deathbattle the mentioned the longest sword in combat ever used was at least 7 ft long.
Wish they would redo the fight now that Vergil has become alot stronger in DMC5 so that way Vergil might beat sephiroth this time. :)
I don't know. Vergil may have become stronger, but considering how much stronger Cloud became in Link v Cloud 2, I'm pretty sure Sephiroth has as well.
